ravurian and I went to this fundraiser for the Union Theatre’s Australian Tour of Pirates of Penzance at Wilton’s Music Hall.

The evening of chat, jokes, laughter and song was hosted by Ruth (aka Samuel Holmes). Alas I forgot that you were supposed to turn up kitted out in piratical gear. Did buy raffle tickets though!

Also bumped into B and S who I usually see at Connotations, which was a lovely surprise.

All in all a really great evening with some of the best bits from prior Gilbert and Sullivan’s Union productions and other G&S excepts though the Max Miller-esque Cheeky Chappie comedian fell a bit flat (humour too old school and misogynistic for me).
