Kamala
Kamala Harris is the right candidate at the right moment at this time for our country.
Make no mistake about it, Trump and his sorry pick for Vice President J. D. Vance are history.
In just one week Kamala's campaign has raised 200 million dollars.
Her campaign has 170,000 new volunteers.
Now Donald Trump is the OLD MAN of the presidential campaign who can't complete a sentence.
Trump's vice presidential choice, J.D Vance has shown himself to be the phony that he is. His disparaging remark about "Childless cat ladies" shows his stupidity. Vance has less charisma than Florida governor Ron DeSantis, and that was a low bar. Vance thinks that people with kids are more entitled to more voting power than childless couples. Don't be surprised if Trumps tries to dump Vance from his ticket.
Is our country read for a female president?
YES!
Is our country ready for a multi-racial president?
YES!
Now who for vice president?
My personal choice is Pete Buttigieg. Everyone agrees he is personable, intelligent and an excellent communicator. But the elephant in the room is that......wait for it.....Pete is gay! Do I think he could be elected vice president? At first thought I had my doubts but now after seeing him on TV and the reaction to him from many sections of the public, YES, I think he could be elected. But I have to be practical. There is and always will be (or at least until they die out) a segment of our population who will never accept a gay man as vice president or president. But here's the good news, I believe there is even a larger segment of our population, both gay and straight who WOULD vote for Pete Buttigieg. It's going to certainly be interesting to see who Kamala chooses as her vice presidential choice.
My second choice is Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro. My Jewish friend Stuart doesn't think this country would accept a Jewish vice president but I disagree with him. I think our country would.
Josh Shapiro is a very popular governor of a state, Pennsylvania, which is a key swing state.
Another name mentioned often is Arizona senator Mark Kelly. Senator Kelly checks a lot of boxes; white male, former astronaut, and a senator from another key state. But Mark Kelly has one big problem........ZZZZZZZ. He's boring. Not his fault but just is an aspect of his personality. I hope Kamala doesn't make the same mistake that Hillary Clinton made when she choose her vice president, Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia. Oh Hillary, you were so unlikeable and you choose a ZZZZZZZZ senator as your running mate? Please Kamala, DON'T choose Mark Kelly as your running mate. Go big, choose Pete!
These days I'm sleeping much better knowing that Kamala Harris will be the next president of the United States.
Next up, expand the Supreme Court to twelve judges to nullify the corruption that is now so apparent on the Supreme Court with the lopsided 6-3 conservative Republican majority who are focused on taking our hard fought freedoms away.
It's not written in stone or the Constitution that there only be nine Supreme Court justices. There are 13 appellate courts that sit below the U.S. Supreme Court. There are 94 federal judicial districts that are organized in 12 regional circuits, each of which has a court of appeals. Time to update the Supreme Court and end the corruption so clearly displayed by Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

The 78 Year Old Criminal
We all know who the 78 year old criminal is. Yes, it's Donald J. Trump, former president of the United States.
As you heard The 78 Year Old Criminal is running again for president of the United States.
This is how Trump will be referred to for the next one hundred and three days until the presidential election on November 5, 2024.
The stupidest and laziest person ever to be elected president of the United States has already started with his racist attacks on the presumed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
Kamala (and notice how Trump and the Republicans deliberately mispronounce her name) isn't taking his bullying and lies. She's fighting back by calling Trump what he is, a 78 year old criminal. Yes, Kamala Harris, the presumed Democratic candidate for president of the United States is running again a 78 year old criminal. Let that sink in MAGA faithful.
It's the truth.
Deal with it.
Biden's "Farewell" Speech
President Biden gave his "farewell" speech last night from the Resolute desk in the White House.
I usually avoid watching Biden stumble through his speeches but I thought I would give this one a try. I almost made it. I just can't take his weak whispery voice and stuttering. Oh I know, he can't help the stuttering. Like I said before many times on this blog, I used to stutter myself but I overcame it. Perhaps I'm being unfair by criticizing his stutter because "he can't help it." Whatever, then probably he shouldn't be in the business of politics where communication is so important.
Stuttering indicates weakness and that is exactly what we don't need now that The Convicted Felon and Fraudster Trump is in full bore. We need someone who can speak in a straightforward and articulate manner.
Thank you president Biden for your fifty plus years of service to our country but now is the time to go into retirement like me. Yes, I'm a year older than Biden and I'm not what I used to be when I was twenty years younger but then I'm not trying to hold onto my previous jobs because I am not capable of performing my best now that I am older.
Believe it or not Joe, there are others quite capable of being the president of the United States.
Kamala Harris is one of those people.

The Nightmare On Hess Street Update
Pat's nightmare neighbors continue to make life miserable for him and his neighbor Samantha.
Below is the latest update that Samantha posted to her website.
Pat and Samantha have submitted more documented evidence (photos and videos) of their squatter neighbors who continue to cause disruption in Pat's and Samantha's otherwise quiet neighborhood.

Biden Exits Presidential Race - No Joke
Well, it took longer than expected but President Biden officially exited the presidential race today.
Glory be, Biden finally saw the writing on the wall.
I never had a doubt that he would exit. It wasn't a matter of "if" but "when" but old Uncle Joe held on. At the end even me, a die hard Dem, got to the point where I didn't like Uncle Joe anymore.
I heard reports that he was "angry" and felt "mistreated." Hey Joe, it isn't about you. It's about defeating the convicted felon who is running for president on the Republican ticket.
Thank goodness Biden finally realized what was obvious to say many of us out here in the Great Unwashed. BIDEN IS TOO OLD!
This country needed someone who could make the case against the Republicans. Joe Biden could not do that. Hell, he can't even complete a sentence let alone articulate a reason to vote for him instead of the convicted felon and rapist who is the Republican nominee.
And yes, Kamala Harris will now be the Democratic nominee for president. And yes, she can do the job.
I welcome the new enthusiasm that will be on the Dems side in this presidential race.
Now I await the first presidential debate with Kamala and the convicted felon. A former prosecutor and a convicted felon. Of course Trump willl never consent to such a debate because he's such a coward but it is interesting to imagine that debate.
Goodbye Joe, thank you for your fifty-three years of public service to our country but now it is time to move on with fresh faces.
We're going to win folks! Trump and the Republicans are finished.

Finally, Relief From The Heat

Me eating lentil soup at the Veggie Grill in West Hollywood, California 2014
I cannot stay outside more than a few minutes in this oppressive humidity. If I do, my clothes are soaked in sweat. Some days I take three showers. I cannot stand to walk around in a sweat soaked T-shirt, even worse one that has dried out.
Today was a normal summer day. I accompanied my neighbor Shannon to Weiss Market to resupply my groceries. Shannon is delightful company. Still, I'm depending on someone to transport my sorry ass to the store for my routine errands. I hate it. Hate it. Monday I have a followup appointment with my cardiologist's office. I hope I get the okay to resume my driving again. I miss the freedom of driving whenever I want to. I'm glad this didn't happen when I was taking care of Bill. He so depended on his daily ride. Me too.
President Biden is ensconced at his summer home here in Rehoboth Beach, about four miles from where I am typing this blog. He still hasn't made his decision to drop out of the presidential race. I'm getting where I don't even like him now. Just how stubborn and selfish is he going to be? I heard on MSNBC where one of the talking heads likened Biden to a formerly successful baseball pitcher who is past his prime. A good pitcher in his time but he is out of his prime now. The fact remains, Biden has to be a vigorous campaigner to defeat Trump in the presidential election. Biden cannot communicate. For an effective campaign we need someone who came communicate his message to the American voter and also counter Trump's lies. Biden no longer has his fastball if he ever did. Hopefully as I type this blog entry, someone is finally getting through to Biden that he is not the best candidate to defeat Trump. Kamala Harris is quite capable of running and being president.
Oh, and what does the photo of me eating soup pictured at the beginning of this blog have to do with anything? Nothing really except I was finally able to make a decent lentil soup this week. This photo was taken in January 2015 when Pat and I visited West Hollywood California. I'm eating a lentil at the Veggie Grill at 8000 Sunset Boulevard. Ever since I ate that lentil soup I've been attempting to replicate that recipe and I'm proud to say, I have! I make more tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!

Imagine Pat And I Sixty-Five Years Ago
![]() |
Yours truly, 1958 East Brandywine Township, Downingtown, PA
Sixty-five years ago I was a skinny, shy, low self esteem kid of seventeen years of age. This picture was taken in the front yard of the house our family had moved into in 1958.
Up until that time my family had always lived in apartments. For the first time in my life I could stand on land and not worry about someone yelling "Hey kid! Get out of here!" Yes, that's what my childhood was like, almost always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Is it no wonder that I value my almost once acre of paradise that I live on now in coastal Delaware.
At the same time I was enjoying my new found freedom of actually putting my own two feet on family owned ground, my now fiancé Pat was living in Toronto, attending school as a ten year old freckled red head. Who would have ever guessed that lo these many years later we would be planning on getting married and living the rest of our lives together.

I know it's late in our lives for us to get together but I feel so fortunate that I have Pat in my life. And to know that we will spend the rest of our lives together makes me so happy.

I may be in failing health and not as pretty as I used to be but we have each other and for that I will always be eternally grateful.
Even though I met Pat late in my life, I've had a wonderful life with Bill. Shortly before Bill died, he gave me his blessing to have a wonderful life with Pat. I'm not religious but I do believe something or Someone had a hand in providing such a happy life for me.

House Arrest Continues
September 1995, me and Horace go for a ride in my 1984 Honda
My "House Arrest" continues. Yes, I still don't have my driving privileges.
On Monday my neighbor Bob drove me to my cardiologist's office for an ultra sound on both of my carotid arteries.
The technician who performed the ultrasounds said they looked fine. I asked him "When can I drive again?" He said if it was up to him he would give me permission immediately but that decision was "way above his pay grade." So I have to wait until July 22nd, my next appointment with my cardiologist to get that permission. They will also have the results of the heart monitor that I wore for ten days and sent in last week.
Let me tell you, this loss of driving privileges is a bear. The loss of freedom to come and go as I want is a bitch. For years I didn't drive. Even though I got my driving license when I was sixteen years old I really didn't drive until I was forty years old. Prior to that time other people drove me around, mainly Bill. Back in the day when I was young, I couldn't buy a car without my parent's permission until I was twenty-one years old. My father would never give me permission. Oh he was a piece of work for sure. Didn't inspire much confidence in me for sure but that another whole story for another time.
When I did turn twenty-one I got a car and totaled it within an hour. Thus I didn't drive for twenty some years. I didn't need to drive when I was in the Army. Someone always had a car.
When I got out of the Army, I got a job first in Pittsburgh. I took the trolley to work. Then when I returned home to Downingtown, Pennsylvania I got an office job (accounts payable) at a scrap yard. I walked to work. Yes, in all kinds of weather and through the black section ("Hey! You got a cigarette?") of Coatesville. I did that for two and a half years until I met Bill and got a job in center city Philadelphia where I didn't need a car. I walked the few blocks to work.
Then came the time when we moved out of center city Philly to our "country estate" outside Downingtown. Came time for me to get a car. And I've been driving ever since. That is until I conked out in the Rehoboth Beach parking lot on the morning of June 16th. And since June 16th I haven't been driving. I hope this saga comes to an end on July 22nd. Because this is a bitch not being able to drive.

I Know What I Saw
Biden is staying in the presidential race.
Biden said "Unless God Almighty tells me not to, I'm staying in the presidential race."
Talk about hubris.
Talk about being out of touch.
Click this link to refresh your memory how president Biden did in the debate. A debate that he requested to show how strong he way. Click HERE.
Now I understand that some who read this blog disagree with me. That's fine. We live in a country that we can disagree with each other. At least we do now, that is unless Trump and his Project 25 plan is elected to the office of the presidency. By the way, make no mistake about it. I despise Trump and will vote for anybody or anything that opposes Trump's election to president. That perhaps is why I am so upset and disappointed in Biden and his staff in lying to us about Biden's physical and mental capacities.

Update On Pat's Neighbor Nightmare
The problem with Pat's squatter neighbors who are probably dealing drugs right out of their house continues. See HERE.
While Pat was visiting me down here in southern Delaware a few weeks ago, he asked his friends to stop in his place and water is plants. The photo above is what they found outside Pat's squatter neighbors. Pat didn't know what was going on but his friends didn't feel it was safe to go into Pat's house and check and water his plants. Of course the plants suffered, some died but this is what Pat has to contend with.
His neighbor Sam (short for "Samantha") has organized a campaign to get rid of the squatters but little has been done so far. There was a meeting at City Hall, which Pat and Sam attended. Their grievances were listened to but nothing has been done......yet.
The picture below is of a sofa that "greeted" Pat when he retuned home for his visit with me. Pat and Sam complained to Hamilton City hall and the sofa was removed. Thank goodness for small favors. What in the world is a sofa doing out in front of that house?

Pat's awful neighbor's latest "shopping" trip
Some nights Pat has peace from the neighbors next door then other nights they're at it again. Lately they have been "grilling" in with wood. Yes, with wood, not charcoal briquettes.....wood! When Pat first smelled wood burning he thought one of their units was on fire. Pat called the fire department. He requested that they NOT send a big fire engine but rather a person to request that they not burn wood for their grilling. So what did the city send? A big assed fire engine. Of course.
The nightmare continues.
