| I actually saw this discussion on an IMDb forum, but I wanted to discuss it with grownups. *g*
When you hear something about an actor - - Mel Gibson's anti-Semitism, Michael Richards' racism, Isaiah Washington's homophobia - - change your attitude about their movies/TV shows? Or if they've committed a crime, or have an addiction? Or if you find out they're not friendly to fans?
Until I heard about Mel Gibson's well-publicized rant, I never realized he was really like that(and didn't know his father was such a nut) - - of course I heard the rumors when Passion of the Christ came out, but I never saw the movie. And his prejudice *has* changed my feelings about his movies, even the ones I used to like.
I guess it would be the same with Michael Richards, if I had *ever* liked him.
I only saw Isaiah Washington once on GA(the Mitch Pileggi ep) before the homophobia thing. But now that he's on Bionic Woman, I realize I didn't like his character *before* I knew anything about him.
Discuss. I'd like to hear everyone's opinions on this. |
