Vacation day #8:

I did get up early, but after a week of getting up early and going to bed late... I was lazy today. I had a free birthday biscuit at Hardee's, so I got a drink with it to satisfy their $1 purchase requirement, came home, watched tv, and surprisingly didn't nap. Not then, anyway. I folded clothes. I tidied the old kitten room and changed out old cat litter for new.

I went outside around 12 and found that popcorn tree limb broken. I trimmed it and planned to sit with cats but it was so hot Chubby wouldn't even cuddle.

I came back in and refilled my work bags, sat and watched some tv. I did have a brief nap then.

I went to start dinner, but discovered the hamburger I got a couple of days ago had spoiled, so I texted J and asked him to pick up dinner. I had a shower, sat down for more tv and managed to nap again before J got here.

Sadly, I go back tomorrow and I am not looking forward to it in the least.

Vacation day #7:

Once again, I got outside early. I trimmed some bushes and low hanging tree limbs, filled bird feeders, planted more zinnia seeds the heat will probably burn up, sat with the babies a lot, and drank a ton of water and Gatorade.

Around 10, I came in and had a shower - I'm averaging 2 a day in this heat - and had some lunch. And a nap, of course.

I worked on inside stuff for a bit until I realized we were dangerously low on toilet paper. I wasn't up to the social demands of Walmart, so I just ran to Dollar General.

I watched TV and may have had another nap. Naps are lovely, and I've had plenty during my vacation. Usually with Bucky beside me and some other random cat/cats in my lap.

Dinner was easy. I made gravy and added the leftover cube steak to it, made rice and warmed up the peas from yesterday. And made a baked corn recipe I've been wanting. It's like a corn pudding, but not with jiffy mix, this is with milk, flour, butter, sugar and an egg. It was so good I could've eaten just that.

We ate, I made it through one youtube video and fell asleep. Once it got cooler outside, at like 7:45, I went back outside. I didn't do anything, just sat. It looked like we were going to get rain, but we didn't, so I ended up watering everything.

Today wasn't as much fun as yesterday. Knowing I go back to work on Thursday is really bringing the mood down.

Vacation day #6:

Since it's so freaking hot right now, I did my outside project first thing. I finally cleaned out the corner off the back bedroom and the sun porch. It was a huge mess and was looking all snakey. I sat with the babies a lot, and drank a ton of Gatorade and water. I lasted until about 10:30. I had a shower, rested a few minutes, then I went and picked up a few things, including my favorite quesadilla supreme from Mi Sombrero. There may have been a nap after lunch.

I had picked up some peas(cream and purple hull), and squash and zucchini, corn and (not at the vegetable place) some cube steak. J loves cream peas and fried cube steak. I also boiled some corn on the cob with the peas, and fried some squash and zucchini.

J went to bed early and I went back outside after 8. It didn't get the least bit cooler until the wind started blowing because of a storm. I stayed out until dark and it hadn't rained, and I'm still not sure it has.

I came in and blanched the rest of the peas and put them in freezer bags, did dishes and had yet another shower. Now I'm feeling sleepy again.

Vacation day #5:

I got to bed around 12 last night and was back up around 6. But. After about a half hour, I fell back asleep. For about 3 hours! I cannot get enough sleep. I had a late breakfast/early lunch and then got garbage together, did dishes, and we went outside to do stuff. All we managed was putting stuff in the storage building. It was so hot. We came back in and rehydrated, and I watched tv in one room while J watched in another.

I made salad(from my own tomatoes and cucumbers, with some Walmart lettuce), and came back in here and sat down until we got ready to heat our Olive Garden leftovers. I fell asleep again!

It ended up being 8 before I got back outside and it was still too hot. I had to water stuff, and spend time with the babies, but no one wanted to cuddle anyway.

I came back in and had a very much needed shower, we had some dessert and I'm considering going to bed. Because if I'm going to do anything outside tomorrow, I'll have to do it early.

I'm as surprised as you that I'm watching this. I have actively avoided Nicolas Cage for years. J showed me the trailer the other day and it looked good, and Brendan Gleeson is in it!

Nicolas Cage really reined it in here, and I'm very happy. The whole show, I was like "Hey, that's Richie from Harlem Nights!" "Hey, that's Lukas Haas!" Hey, that's Grace from Sinners!" "Hey, that's Jack Huston!"

Robbie and Janet are delightful.

Vacation day #4:

I ended up getting up at 5am in a cat-related incident. First Ophelia knocked something over, then she climbed up the curtain. Then she ran back and forth across the bed. When Wyatt came to join her, I just got up. J got up around... 7? I planned for us to get going around 9:30, so we got to Douglas around 10(it's better to get to Goodwill early). Well. I fell asleep and I could not wake up. It was almost 9:30 before I could make myself wake up.

We were going to pick up breakfast for J at Hardee's, but Hazlehurst was doing their favorite thing, digging up the street, so he got McDonald's instead.

We hit Goodwill first. I didn't find a whole lot... a few cookbooks, some other stuff, J got a few dvds.

Ollie's was next. We found some stuff there, of course, including another big plastic raised planter for my veggies next year.

We hit PetSmart next. They had about 8 kitties up for adoption and they were all adorable. There was also a dog adoption event going on and it was loud.

Then we headed to Waycross to Olive Garden. Sadly, Sonia was not working. J got lasagna and I got my usual shrimp and chicken carbonara. We brought most of both home because of all the salad, soup, breadsticks and dipping sauce we had.

We made a quick stop by Ollie's there because I had forgotten to look for a water bottle that would fit in our cupholders while we were in Douglas. I didn't find one, but J found some pillows he thinks are firm enough for him.

We had an interesting encounter at the McDonald's drive though. We always stop for drinks on the way out of town. I asked for a large Coke and a large Dr Pepper. "A large Coke and a large fry?" No, a large Dr Pepper. "A large Dr Pepper and a large fry?" Dr Pepper and Coke, no fry. "Okay, just a large Coke." And a Dr Pepper! She got an attitude... "You said a large fry! Besides, I've already closed the order." I asked if this was too difficult, did I need to come inside? And the manager said drive up, she'd fix it. The person at the first window actually fixed it. The manager did come to make sure and said the other chick was new and it was her first time on the headset. I didn't even pitch a fit.

We came home, unloaded, and you'll never guess... I had another 2 hour nap, with various cats.

I was prepared to love this. Beth, Rip, Carter, right? But I don't, at least not yet. Don't like Beulah, Rob Will(and his stupid name) or Oreana. I feel bad for Joaquin and Everett for being involved with these toxic people. None of the 10 Petal cowboys have made enough of an impression on me for me to even know their names.

Vacation day #3:

I began my morning with some sadly neglected laundry that needed to be folded. It took me approximately one movie - - St Elmo's Fire - - to get it all folded and put away.

I also cleaned and organized the bedroom today.

Then I went uptown at lunchtime for my free burger and my firecracker refresher. I came back and ate and realized unless I wanted to shop at Walmart on Saturday, I needed to pick up up some stuff. The store was not overly crowded even though it was lunchtime.

I came home to find a bunch of packages on the porch. For my neighbor. Who lives at 27 W Jarman, not 21 W Jarman. Our house number is on the mailbox, and the porch. They practically had to bump into it when they delivered these. Apparently the post office is like WM overnight... you don't need to read. I re-delivered the packages, then sat on the porch with the babies, but it was so hot no one wanted to cuddle, even Chubby.

I watered everything, came in and showered and managed a nap before J got home.

J brought home delicious food from work: grilled chicken, green beans, baked beans, and red velvet cake. We ate and me,, J, Misty and several other cats napped. Again.

Tomorrow, we're celebrating my birthday by doing two things I love: shopping(Goodwill and Ollie's in Douglas) and eating(Olive Garden in Waycross).

Vacation day #2:

I got up, had the aforementioned plums for breakfast, and promptly fell asleep for at least an hour(went to bed late, got up early). When I woke up, I stripped the bed and washed the sheets, then got started on the sun porch. The good neighbors threw out a cube-type storage unit months ago and I made J help me move it to the sun porch, and I put Dollar Tree baskets in the cubes to store stuff in. What took forever was going through all the shit on the porch. I worked on it until I started dinner.

I showed out a little today. I made bbq ribs in the oven, cooked fresh peas and ham, fried okra(some of it mine), and made cornbread. I also had some of my own tomatoes and banana peppers. It was so good. I haven't done a lot of cooking lately, other than quick meals.

After we ate, I went outside and sat with the babies.

Came in, had a shower, and J and I have been watching movie trailers and other youtube stuff.

I had a lovely, leisurely breakfast, watched my favorite eps of The Pitt(Abbot eps!), then Squeaky, Bucky and I had a lovely nap.

Today I concentrated on the front room, gave it a thorough cleaning and did some organizing. That all took a ridiculous amount of time.

Around 3, I made a Dollar Tree run for some plastic baskets for a future organizing project, and picked up chicken for dinner.

After we ate, I went outside and sat with the babies. It was lovely.

I came in, had a shower, finally did some dishes and laundry, and now I'm watching tv again.

Dutton Ranch S1E6 "A Cowboy Saint"

This first season is hit or miss for me, the cow episode made me so sad, the next ep felt like I missed an ep somewhere, and the bastards killed Dwight and it just came out of nowhere and was not addressed in this ep.

I'm disappointed in Everett. Surely he doesn't have to resort to Beulah, there must be another woman in town.

Sometimes I can't even hear what Beulah's saying because of her cartoonishly large glasses.

Carter needs to stay the fuck away from Oreana.

It was nice seeing Beth back in her cutthroat business mode.

Beth is hard to surprise, but Beulah did it when she mentioned Jamie.

Dutton Ranch S1E4 "Start with a Bullet"

This was not a happy episode.

Ray McKinnon helped. Dwight was a delight. I love these guest spots by amazing character actors. Last time it was Dale Dickey.

Beulah's enormous glasses need their own cast credit.

This is everything Marshals isn't.

I was worried at first Annette Bening was going to Shatner it up, but she seems okay.

If Beth has to deal with the little bitches fucking with Carter, there won't be anything left.

I love Ed Harris's character.

A couple of weeks ago, I watch Lonesome Dove again. It remains one of the best westerns ever made. Robert Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones were amazing, as was Anjelica Huston.

The sequel, Return to Lonesome Dove, was not all that bad. Jon Voight did a good job as Call, and Barbara Hershey was good as Clara.

Now I'm struggling through Comanche Moon. I love Val Kilmer, but his Shatnering in this one was awful. I found his whole storyline ridiculous.

Karl Urban channeled Tommy Lee Jones nicely, and Steve Zahn - - never my favorite actor - - didn't do too badly as Gus. Linda Cardalini was fine as Clara.

Thoughts after the first viewing if the season finale of The Pitt:

In season1, I didn't like Langdon or Santos, but thanks to some character development, I'm liking them a lot more now.

"Wild pregnancy" and "freebirth" are really a thing?

Jack Abbot, life coach.

Shen comes across as a little shallow and unserious, but when itvcomes down to it, hes really good at what he does.

The roof scene with the fireworks was nice, especially Perlah and Dana.

I didn't not like this last ep, but when the credits came up, I'm like, that's it? For 9 months?

Stay for the mid credits scene!

Next week is the last ep of this season! No!

This was epic, though. I dont even like Langdon, but he was on fire in this ep.

What about Ellis and her awesome Rumble Fish reference? But I have to take points off for not knowing who Styx is.

And my boy Abbot:

"Sir, we are gonna get you more pain meds, but you need to shut your fucking mouth."

Bye, Monica. Don't come back.

What happened to poor Whitaker's badge? The FB page has all sorts of theories: Langdon stole it to access drugs, Santos stole it as a joke, it got sent through the shredder, he lost it in the ambulance bay.

I'm two eps in on Marshals, and so far, I'm just here for the few precious scenes with Mo every week.

The testosterone is overwhelming(all the manly shooting, and look at Kayce casually pick up a rattlesnake and throw it), the cringe-worthy lines are awful, and Brett Cullen's character... ugh.

This has none of the charm of Yellowstone and I don't care about any of the characters except the ones from Yellowstone. And killing Monica as a plot device sucks.

Vacation day #8

Last day of vacation, and unlike how I go into overdrive and try and finish everything I wanted to do in one day... I was lazy as hell. I had breakfast, then fell asleep watching TV(I can't even tell you how many times I've had to rewind shows this last week), got up and got stuff ready to go back to work - - I had washed my work bag and lunch bag, had to put everything back in them, and I still had to charge my phone and stuff.

I did some stuff in the kitchen, had a little lunch, watched more tv(didn't fall asleep, go me!), then got outside, but I had to stay in the sun, because it was chilly in the shade. I didn't do a thing, just sat with the babies. Minus Chubby. I walked around looking for her several times. She always comes up and yells at me until I pick her up and hold her. I was worried.

I finally had to come in. I had a shower, sat down and watched tv. Squeaky joined me, and you'll never guess... we fell asleep. When I woke up, I went to the door and this time, Chubby was there! I gave her a treat and asked her where she'd been, but she declined to say.

Going to bed soon, in preparation for heading back to work tomorrow.

We have now entered the sad phase where my vacation is almost at an end and I'm sad to go back to work.

I did have a nap this morning. It was too cold to get outside first thing. When I woke back up, I did some organizing in the kitchen, did some dishes. folded more laundry. Watched an ep of Chicago PD to get a Shawn Hatosy fix, because I'm caught up on The Pitt.

I finally got outside after 2, and actually sat with the babies for a little while. It wasn't bad in the sun. I also covered my flowers back up because of this &^#%#%^ cold snap, which is also ruining the last couple of days of my vacation.

I made burgers for dinner and now I feel like I want another nap.

In fact, I'm caught up now and have to wait for the next ep to air.

J went to bed early, so I watched the newest Chicago Med, some Dark Winds and folded clothes. A lot of clothes.

I was allowed to sleep until like 6am, but then Goose, Wyatt and Ophelia started making noise and I got up with them so they didn't wake J up, as he stayed up later than me last night.

I watched most of one episode of The Pitt, then slept through the rest of it and the next one. I didn't wake up until J got up. I finally got going at 10am, because I needed to get to Walmart before the rude church people did. It was still 10:30 before I actually got out of the house. I got what I needed, and picked up hamburgers for lunch. We ate and then I may have had another small nap. Then we got the garbage together and unloaded the rest of the stuff from the car. J's sinus/allergy issues gave him a migraine and he went to bed. I stayed outside to sit with the babies and nearly fell asleep on my chair out there. I came in, had a shower, planned to rewatch the ep of The Pitt I slept through... and slept through it again. It was 6 before I woke up, and went to wake up J, so we could heat up our Rialto's leftovers and have dinner.

Vacation day #4(Saturday)

We got off to a slow start... and my beloved husband forgot to charge the car. So, we were going by Hardee's, get J some breakfast and let him eat while we were charging, but it was so busy, inside and out, we just charged. We went back by the ball field to catch people who weren't set up Friday, or brought out more stuff, and we found a good bit, too. And I kind of feel bad about this, but Gregory/Rambo, a former co-worker, was there, and I actively avoided him. I couldn't last year, because he, his wife and stepdaughter were set, but he was shopping this year and I made sure he didn't see me.

Then, back by here to drop off stuff. Here's where we messed up. J got lunch, since he didn't get breakfast, and I convinced him to get Krystal, since I already was stopping there for a fountain Coke and crackers. If anyone was wondering, the Hazlehurst Krystal still sucks. Two people working and one of them really seemed to resent it. I went to get my stuff, J ordered his Chik combo(which, BTW, is two chiks instead of three now, and the price is almost double). It was $12.80 and J gave her bills and she owed him 20 cents back, and said "We don't have dimes," and acted like she wasn't going to give him change at all. My first question would've been, "Do you not have nickels, either?" But J is nice. So he told her to give him a one back and he would give her change. Then she tried to tell him he owed her 20 cents(which, by that point, I would have agreed with). But once again. he's nice. We got back on the road, his fries were old and one of his chiks spewed grease on his shirt, but at least his drink was good.

We went to Hawkinsville. There are very few sales between Eastman and Hawkinsville, but right near town there were several big ones. I found a ton of holiday stuff, including a whole huge tote of Christmas stuff. People were tired and hot and ready to make a deal.

Then we headed back, stopping in McRae to charge since we were planning to go to Vidalia and get Rilato's, which was delicious as always.

Then I had the bad cashier experience at Dollar General in Uvalda. All I got was Easter candy, a dvd for me(a Hallmark movie) and J got an animated Batman dvd. I somehow got carded for the Hallmark movie, which was ridiculous, and she demanded my ID. Now, I am clearly several times over 18, and I had my idea, and I guess I was in a mood. I just told her to keep it. Then she said, oh, I could just tell her my birthdate, which I did. Then J's dvd rang up for $10, when the tag actually on the dvd said $6. She didn't act like she was going to fix that, and told me my total. I said, and not at all kindly, that the tag said $6. She called her manager, who, of course, fixed it.

We finally got home, and I planned to do stuff, once again, and guess what, I fell asleep again. I woke up, but I was so tired I was dizzy, so I just went to bed.

What a weekend! I'm so behind.

Vacation day #3(Friday)

We started, as always, at Hardee's, then went to the ball field because so one was set up at Hardee's like they normally are. And whoever organizes the ball field, like where the vendors set up, where people park, etc, need to let me do the organizing. And J laughed when I suggested we put the people selling food in one area the people selling new stuff in one spot, and the people with the old stuff in one spot.

We found stuff, of course. I found old jars, a few holiday things, cookbooks, and J found games, dvds and one game system. We dropped that off here before we headed to Eastman. We stopped at our favorites along the way, but we didn't make it past Eastman. We also stopped at my favorite spot, the old school in Chauncey, where the book sale is. I guess because we got there earlier, I found a bunch of cookbooks. And we got to see J's great aunt Lois and got slices of coconut cake(me) and thin layer chocolate cake(J). We didn't find much at the yard sales set up there, but we never do. Along the way, and at the big set ups in Eastman, we found more stuff. Books, holiday stuff, kitchen utensils(me) and more dvds and games(J).

I looked in vain all day for boiled peanuts, but never saw any. We were tired and our feet were sore, so we headed to Baxley to Captain Joe's. J ordered fish and clams, and I just got the soup and salad bar, which was problematic because it was super busy, and everything kept running out... salads, soup bowls, soup spoons, biscuits(never did get any more of them). I still managed to eat too much, though.

I came home with plans to do stuff, but in reality. I had a shower, sat down and fell asleep. Then I went to bed and slept more. It was exhausting, but we had the best day!

Then we headed, of course,

You know how I said I'd be more productive today? Well. I stayed up too late last night, then got up at 5:30 this morning. After J left for work, I had breakfast, watched The Pitt... and kept watching. It was raining and I couldn't get outside, but there was plenty I could've done inside.

After the rain stopped, I did get outside, but didn't accomplish much. I did make a new Easter tree.

After J got home, we ate, then cleaned out the car for the yard sales tomorrow. The temp was down and the wind was up and it was really very chilly. I planned to put eggs on my tree, but I ended up in the tarp covered dog pen because of the wind, and I didn't make much progress... it's hard to put a string on eggs and wire tie them on a tomato cage and chicken wire tree with 3+ cats in your lap. I gave up, cuddled cats, and came in near dark to get everything ready for tomorrow. And watch more of The Pitt. First ep of the second season, but the vibes seemed off to me, which is weird, because usually I say that about the first few eps, before everyone finds their groove.

Vacation day #1

Sadly, I had to go to Walmart first thing. I planned to do my shopping yesterday after work. I was going to leave a couple of hours early, but we only had three people yesterday and I just couldn't do that to the team.

So, I went this morning, picked up some breakfast afterward. Then I got outside. I had to repair my Easter trees(eggs were broken off or damaged by cats, or traveling from the yard to the storage building and back). Cinnamon, Chubby, and Bella "helped" by jumping in my lap. And Tiger came and asked to get in my lap, which never happens. He's my oldest boy and has slowed down considerably in the last few years. I cuddled him and brushed his fur.

I finally got done and did other fun stuff like refilling bird feeders, picking up trash and cleaning and refilling cat water bowls.

I went back outside after dinner, but I really just sat and cuddled various cats, and walked around the yard to see if anything is coming up - - several morning glories are about an inch high, and a lot of wisteria is blooming.
I don't know how to explain this, but I wasn't as motivated as I thought I would be today. I've been looking forward to this vacation, and all the stuff I wanted to do for weeks. I've been accomplishing all I could on my days off so I could do what I wanted to do. I don't know what was up with me today. I hope to be more productive tomorrow.
