Welcome to the round up of posts you might have missed this week on Smorgasbord.
I hope your week has gone well so far and I know some of you have had snow this week as another storm front sweeps through from the north. We have been lucky in that respect as the weather has been dry but we did have a minus 5 degrees night this week and that is unusual for us. We are now in the path of Storm Isha who sounds delightfully innocuous but apparently is bringing all kinds of mayhem across the Atlantic. People keep saying spring is around the corner…..
As you know we have quite a few varieties of birds in the garden, but despite being so close to the coast we only usually get seagulls flying inland when there are storms. They rarely touch down in the garden, but this week a young seagull got blown around in the winds and decided to investigate why so many birds were gathering in one place. Starlings are messy eaters so despite birdseed not being his usual diet, he spent the morning picking up their cast offs. He also had a drink and a dip in the bird bath and refreshed headed off back to sea.
As always my thanks to my friends who contribute to the blog and this week…
