I haven't tried installing it yet but I did download it. Looking forward to updating from version 7 I already have on my netbook!
UPDATE I just installed it and used the serial number provided on the Adobe site, and everything went through perfectly. Excellent! I didn't register it though...it's unnecessary as Adobe mentions right on their site that they're not providing updates to the version anymore.
I've been playing the Playstation 3 video game Red Dead Redemption, a Western in which you control a gunfighter. The game is intensely immersive and I'm completely obsessed with it. It helps that I am into Westerns and the Wild West in general.
An idea has been percolating in my head for another Western story. I thought it might be fun to see what Cas would look like as a gunslinger.
I'm self-taught in Photoshop, which means this could probably be a million times better if someone with skill and training were to do it, but I'm pretty proud of how it came out. I was going for an old daguerreotype look. What do you think?
The shot of Misha is from the behind-the-scenes at the Season 6 photoshoot which I screencapped from an online video. I used the same image in my default icon, and I guess this idea also came from spicedrum mentioning that the look on his face reminded her of an old-timey photo.
If any of the aforementioned people visit here, know that I always comment when taking stuff, but it got so late as I did this (it's 2:30 a.m.) that I neglected to do so. I apologize, but I credited you here.
Has anyone been keeping up with Timothy Olyphant's new FX series Justified?
I just caught up with the last two episodes (no spoilers) and boy howdy I can't wait for next week's season finale! It looks great. They've laid everything out in a satisfyingly plotty way.
As much as I love Olyphant's portrayal of Raylan Givens (and Ava has also grown on me, thankfully) my absolute favorite part of the show has to be the extras and guest stars. The people they find really do look like they'd be living in a holler somewhere in Kentucky. And they're all excellent actors, too!
For you X-Files fans, have you noticed that Raylan's father Arlo is played by Raymond Barry, aka Senator Matheson that took an interest in Mulder all those years ago?
I also love Arlo's wife, Helen. I'd love to see her and Supernatural's Ellen pair up!

Made a new header today. It took me about three hours because the most difficult part is finding the right screencaps to use. Then of course there's a lot of playing around with textures and hunting down the right ones.
Resources
Screencaps by oxoniensis via her site Dean taken from "In the Beginning" Castiel taken from "The Monster at the End of This Book" Sammy taken from "The Rapture"
I pretty much spent this afternoon creating a new header for my journal. I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but the hardest part was finding the screencaps I thought I might need at the right size and sharpness.
I made this one 100 pixels larger than my previous header, so that it stretches to 760 x 300 pixels. The width stays the same, otherwise I'd break my layout.
Winchester boys from "Crossroad Blues" Metallicar from "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" Castiel from "Are You There God It's Me, Dean Winchester" (from the recap)
I've been sitting here for a few hours, playing with different textures and what not, and I like what I've come up with for a first try. My very first header, not too bad!
As I get better and experiment more I'm sure it will take me less than three hours.
Since I tagged this "resources", let me get this out of the way:
