thisbluespirit: List your top fanfic on AO3 for every year, sorted by kudos.
I joined AO3 back in late 2009 so long before kudos was a thing, but here we go anyway.
2009
Always With the Poisons (Stardust; gen; 1129 words) Hilariously the second part of a series and just pipping There is a Kingdom by a whole one kudos.
2010
Of no surprise whatsoever, Your Logic is Flawed The only Big Bang Theory fic I've ever written or ever will. Written for the transfic mini fest and perennially one of the most popular fics I've ever written. My gender dysphoria feels, let me show you them.
2011
Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before (Doctor Who, Jenny/Vastra, 2746 words.) Back in 2011 when Madame Vastra and Jenny showed up we thought they'd be one off cameos and a femslash fandom of like half a dozen people and about as many fics, never imagining they'd end up as recurring characters with their own Big Finish series and 23 pages of works on AO3...
2012
Shadows in the Library (Doctor Who/Discworld, River Song & The Librarian, 1545 words) As per the notes on this fic: This was supposed to be a light-hearted romp where the Librarian and River Song keep bumping into each other and helping each other out of the kind of jams where you have to sidetrack via L-Space. It became something else instead.
2013
Probably the year when I wrote the least fic I'd written since 2002, I don't write longfic and yet I've written fics longer than my total output that year.
Second City (Rivers of London, Dr Walid/OFC, 1813 words) I missed the vital reference to red hair in the original description of Dr Walid so originally in my head (and honestly always in my heart) he's a Scots-Pakinstani bloke from the West End of Glasgow. (He could still be a convert! Maybe his parents were Sikhs from the Punjab who emigrated to Scotland during Partition!)
2014
Mythical Beasts in a Digital Age (MCU - Hawkeye/Agents of Shield; Clint/Coulson; 2814 words) Probably the most fun I had writing any story all that year. It involves a space dragon; just a small one.
2015
As per above, this fic at 4075 words is exactly as many words as I wrote in 2013, I wrote about 3x that many words that year.
Magic Boxes(The What Remains Mix) (MCU; gen; 4075 words) I do love remix. A rare occassion I actually wrote a remix as assigned. (I usually write pinch-hits.)
2016
Feather on the Nile (The Mummy; Ardeth Bay/Evy Carnahan O'Connell/Rick O'Connell; 3325 words) Speaking of pinch hits, this was a pinch hit for NotPrimeTime. Apparently lots of people loved this film as teenagers and didn't realise that they do had been longing for this pairing.
2017
A Most Unusual Feeling (Leverage, Alec Hardison/Parker/Eliot Spencer; 3319 words) This was the fic where I found my niche in writing Leverage fic, I did wonder when I started writing this fic if it was the only fic I had in me for this fandom or even just this pairing/threesome...this turned out to very much not be the case. It's now the single fandom that I've written the most words for this entire decade.
2018
As evidence by the oh about 30,000 words I've written in this fandom since then 2018's fic was Hear It in the Silence (Leverage; Alec Hardison/Parker/Eliot Spencer; 7390 words of soulmate AU fic)
2019
We're only half-way through the year but even so Hiding in Plain Sight (MCU - Captain Marvel; Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau; 450 words) is holding it's own there.
