LOST IN MY SENSES!
Seriously, I am a DOODLE
with a MULTI-DOODLE SNIFFER!
I become entranced
so zoned
so zenned
that I can't break away.
I am at one with my nose
and
it is at one with me.
There now
Inhale ~ Exhale
I feel whole again.
Focused
Clear headed
Clear nosed
and
ready for the next discovery.
Maybe it'll be edible
One can only hope.
Right?
Right!

FROM A HORSE'S POV
Ambling yet focused inching her way up the driveway to daycare ~~
Sophie shrieks ~~
"Oh Mary I haven't seen you for a whole week!
Do you want to dance?"
"What is it with dogs anyway?
Can't they ever be calm for just once", says Topaz.
"You would think this view would be enough to relax
those canines when they arrive here."
"But I stare in bewilderment ~~
just like my buddy on the other side of the building."
"Just a month ago
Sophie was a super calm DOODLE GPS-ing that clump of grass
while I sniffed my barren patch."
"I think she has come along way
since her super young days
nipping at my hooves
without fear, at all"
"I have stories that I won't even tell Mary,
just between me and Sophie Girl."
The Dads took off and visited the exhibition
at the museum in Halifax ~~
all about The Wild Horses of Sable Island. < click
I know I'd be super keen on this photo montage
because well, I think it's self-explanatory.
I guess Jim was quite impressed with the number of photos
and the feeling of awe and serenity
that overtook him and Ron.
The exhibit is on until October 13
and should not be missed
(especially if you are a horse lover).
Topaz here, over and out!

IN THE COMPANY OF ONE CROW ~~~~
We discovered a new 'to us' park on Sunday
called Hemlock Ravine Park.
As we maneuvered the trails hilly, curvaceous and narrow
we rounded this corner and there it was
A LONE CROW
Do you see it?
OK, normally I totally ignore birds
but this time something came over me
I was possessed leaping
LICKETYSPLIT
over the bank without a worry in the world.
Get back here ~~ this is not going to be embarrassing
if I have anything say about it!!
Oh HI!
Were you actually watching me?
CROW?
WHAT CROW?
Nothing here but me and the chickadees!!

MY SUNSET ~~ YOUR SUNSET
Little did I know that after discovering this large stump on the beach ~~~
with the sweet ocean scents permeating every nook and cranny
would I be so fortunate enough to see this view on the way back to my car.
The rays of the setting sun outline my chocolate brown Doodle fur
coaxing me back to the warmth of the back seat of the vehicle
See!
There's my car with Jim waiting patiently
because March is mighty cold this year
and only Ron would walk with me.
Life from the back seat of my car
always warms my heart!!!

SPRING REFRESHMENT
The autumn colours are hanging in
along our path today.
You know humans have this ability to open their mouths
and words pop out ~~ and guess what I know exactly what they mean.
Even though I could smell the fresh spring up ahead
with my 20/20 sniffer
I played along with my human's comments
"Sophe, hon, do you know what's up ahead?"
Oh yes, I most certainly do!
Fresh water
a quick dig dig dig in the water
a long slurp or 3
sometimes a dunking
and
a head and body shake to continue the walk.
I always feel better after a walk, a dunk
and some re-hydration.
Don't you?

Nosy, Not Me, it's Gratitude!
"Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
but today is a gift.
That's why we call it the present. "
Today I'm noseying around
sampling the splendour of my world
checking out every last thing that is nose high!
Gratitude is all I have for my friends ~~~
and just like Piglet noticed
"Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart,
it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude."

PS ~~ the 4th picture shows me sniffing a sleeping Jim!!

I Like the Red One!
Hi! It's me at Fisherman's Cove.
I just wanted to tell you that I like the red one.
Have a look!
Isn't it a beauty popping out like that in this beautiful little cove!
The name says she's a "Hurtin' Unit"
so if bright, gorgeous, pop in your face red means "Hurtin Unit",
then I agree!
The other "Units" are your regular run of the mill colours
like white, green and baby blue,
but something has captured our attention
with this magnificent shade of red
even up against the "First Born"
(which apparently is the third born the captain said)
the reflections seem to blend beautifully with the baby blue sky and grey wharf beams
The city is not that far off as I peered through the vessels
Then I saw this!
Now that's a load of rope.
No chance I'll be unwinding this pile any time soon.
I'll just give it a sniff.
Jim is down the docks talking to a captain who filled him in on a lot of information.
One boat is heading to the Caribbean soon.
What do you think if I jump on board?
Have you ever thought of stowing away on a boat?
I would love to stowaway on that sparkling red one.
I could do that so very easily!
