Welcome to the_chalice, a Wiccan community devoted to the differences among Wiccans...regardless of which path you follow, we are here to embrace it - and of course you!
As The Wiccan Law states; Abide In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust, please do so here by reading our rules before you join...thank you;
The Rules:
* Please do not join this community if you think it would be offending your beliefs. We are not here to upset anyone, we are here because we want to be, and this is our belief. If you believe in another religion, that is fantastic that you have a faith, and we respect your beliefs - but please do not come into our community and tell us what we should or should not believe in. I would not do it to your community, don't do it to ours, thank you.
* Anyone ignoring the above rule, and just joining to flame will be immediately banned, your comment or entry will be deleted, and no one will take any notice or reply to those kinds of entries. We wanted this community to express the freedom of the Craft, that is why we don't have moderated acceptance - but we will rethink this if needs be.
* This community is for all of your discussions regarding Wicca and Paganism, regardless of your status in the Pagan community, i.e: if you are a Solitary/Coven/Green/Gardnerian/Alexandrian/Druidism/Shamanism path follower, and also regardless of how long you have been studying or following The Craft - New Followers and Old are equally welcomed, how can we become more tolerant of others if we scoff at their ideas and paths? Which brings me onto the next rule;
* Please show respect and tolerance at all times here. I would no sooner come into your personal journal, and attack you for your views as you would into mine (I would hope!) - this also includes the_chalice community as well. Again I state - we are not worried which path you follow in the Wiccan/Pagan community, we are not worried how long you have been practising/following the Craft...we are here to try and learn something from one another, regardless of differing levels of knowledge - as Wiccan/Pagan, we should be tolerant naturally, as the faith we follow says we should harm none...to me that implies in several different fields, from the written word to the physical action.
* So please refer to The Wiccan Rede to refresh why you may be here in this community.
* No flaming/attacks/harrassment etc will be tolerated here - we are a peaceful communtiy. If you find someone upsetting you, in a comment here, or they have followed you through here to your personal journal, please inform one of the mods, and we will handle it. We will ban repeat offenders, so you will get only 3 warnings before being permantly banned. The Live Journal Abuse team will also be informed of repeat offenders. Flaming/harrassment etc goes against everything a Wiccan/Pagan stands for, please, please, I urge you to respect this rule. I really do not like this type of restriction, but I'm afraid needs must - please have a drama in your own journal or one of the communities that actually tolerate flaming. Thank you, but not here!
* Please do not promote your community here unless it is in reference to Wicca - any community wishing to be an affiliate will be most welcome. 0addthiscomm0 is a fantastic place to advertise your Wiccan community.
* In this community, we would love for you to share with us anything relevant to Wicca/Paganism. For example, you have found a certain type of cleansing ritual for a cystal, and it worked really well - share it with us!! You have a specific herbal/home-made (safe!!) remedy? Share it with us!! We'd love to know!! Please make sure to include strict instructions on how to make up certain spells - we don't want backfires happening please!! Also, bath salts/oils recipes? Spells? Food for Rituals? Tell us!! If we get enough then I shall include them in the memories for easy reference!
* Please put long posts behind a cut, to save on our friends page and yours...thank you...
* Please enjoy yourself here!! We are a warm, welcoming, peaceful and tranquil community. We only wish to enrich our lives and yours with more knowledge on The Craft, and individuals experiences...
...Merry Meet & Blessed Be...
Your Mod's Are;
immortal_wicca - I have been following and studying Wicca, (Solitary due to my circumstances of having to move around with my forces hubby so much!!) for almost 16 years now. I hope some day soon to become part of a coven, as I feel I have so much more to learn...I have always felt it inside of me, from a very young age, but like heykatie and my good friend, I didn't realise it had a name. I have my own Book Of Shadows, several referencial Wiccan books, several sets of tarot cards bought for me by relatives, several different crystals for differing uses, a besom, 2 familiars, and I'm mainly self-taught, until I discovered some fantastic books about 7 years ago...these are still mainly for reference, and guidance, but I prefer to use my instincts as I go along. My husband isn't particualry interested in my faith - but he has the uttmost respect for it and me. He will buy me the necessary things I sometimes need for spell work that I cannot find out here - and that speaks volumes about how he understands it is my faith, and therefore an intergratal part of me.
heykatie - I've been officially studying wicca and witchcraft since February 19th, 2003. But I was practicing long before I knew what I was doing had a name. I, too, have a Book of Shadows, and it is very large and lush and open to anyone who might need a helping hand. I have a ton of reference books on everything from practicing wicca to spellwork, crystals and even chinese astrology! I collect every tarot card deck I can find (I'm up to about 20 decks now), and I also collect crystals, large and small. Everything I know has been through my own research. I follow my own path, borrowing from Alexandrian, Gardnerian and Druidism, as well as from various worldly belief structures. I am "out" to pretty much everyone in my life, including my very straight-laced Catholic parents, and they've all been mostly accepting. And while my husband was totally against it at first, he is now my biggest supporter.
