Monday's Weekend Recap!
I had such a wonderful weekend!! Nieces Peggy and Jackie arrived by Uber just before midnight. We hugged, got them settled in the guest rooms, and then sat and talked for a half-hour or so before we all went to bed pretty worn out. We had to get up earlier than I think any of us wanted to, but we were meeting up with Lauren and Tristan for lunch down in Punta Gorda at Fisherman's Village. We left at 9:15 for the two-hour drive. I go on the back roads so it was leisurely and we had good conversations on the way down. Lauren and Tristan were already there and seated when we arrived at The Captain's Table.

We had a delicious meal, lots more conversation, and then walked through the shopping mall. A few purchases were made by some. We sadly said goodbye to Lauren and Tristan and headed back home to Lakeland. Back at home, more talking and some TV. I made fajitas for our dinner and we had brownies and ice cream for dessert.
On Sunday, we went to church (I skipped Sunday school) Peg and Jackie both said they enjoyed my church and agreed that it felt like family. I took them to the cemetery so they could see where their Uncle Joe's physical remains were resting. We left there and had lunch at Crispers (similar to Panera - but better). We got back home so they had time to relax a bit and get packed up to head for the airport. They had a reservation at the airport Marriott because their flight out was just after 5:00 a.m. this morning. Yikes! It was such a good visit. We even face-timed with my pen-pal, Maya!
Please forgive me for missing your posts this weekend. I will catch up as I can but may not leave comments.
I have another busy week ahead. Haircut appointment, friends coming by for a visit, hosting my small group for dinner, Thanksgiving lunch with co-workers at the Regional Office, dinner out with my Mas Verde friends, and a box/picnic Thanksgiving dinner at the Mas Verde clubhouse. November is already flying by!

It really sounded like a nice time, Terri. Y'all look great, smiles.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing the happy faces of your beautiful family, Terri! Like you, I won't be having much time to comment on friends' blogs in the coming weeks as we are traveling to NC and spending time with the grands. So looking forward to our trip!
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving, my friend!
What a wonderful visit. You did a lot in a few days with them. And you have a busy week ahead. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks good. So glad you had a wonderful weekend and have a full and happy week planned ahead of you!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a most enjoyable weekend, Terri. Yum on the brownies and ice cream!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see y'all visiting and having a good time. Wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
What an amazing weekend you enjoyed! I remember mother and I booking a room at that hotel before our own early morning flight. Given unpredictable traffic conditions, that's a Godsend.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful and busy weekend. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you had such a great visit with your family. That was really really nice you could all be together. Now it sounds like you will have a very busy week ahead, but all good stuff. God is good! I love to see how He is taking care of you so wonderfully!!
ReplyDeleteI love Fisherman's Village. Our friends owned the condos just right across the waterway from there and we often visited. Both have sadly passed away now. I got some cool things at the shops there for my grands when they were little. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou have a very full weekend - but such joy and fun! I love the pic of you with the grandkids. This whole post made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI've tried to comment here three times, but it never works. Trying again!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend! I love the cute top you were wearing on Saturday.
I hope your busy week is going well. I love how much you socialize. I'm not getting much chance for that these days.
