End of April Sunday Stealing....

BERJAYA

Thanks to Bud for this week's Sunday Stealing!!

The Unknown Author Questions

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog

BERJAYA

Authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. We also provide a link to the victim's questions in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from recently asked questions from a previously post.

BERJAYA

We found this gem from one of you who sent it in. I have no idea who. But as I stated last week, I am partying with my friends for WTIT's 50th Anniversary. Can you believe that three 15-year-old kids recorded their lives' stories? Okay, whoever gave this to me please credit yourself in the comments. Let's do this!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

Sunday Stealing: The Unknown Author Questions

1. if someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?

I don't think it is possible to understand me by reading, watching or listening to something. Just spend some time with me.  I guess you get a good idea by reading my blogs....

2. have you ever found a blogger who thinks just like you? if so, who?

I think most of us here (connected and faithful readers) are conservative believers who think very much alike. We are prayer partners, family oriented and care about each other and our families.

3. list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with.

I'm not sure I understand fandoms. ???  I don't identify with an character.

4. do you like your name? is there another name you think would fit you better?

I'm fine with Terri but I do not like Teresa.

5. do you think of yourself as a human being or a human doing? do you identify yourself by the things you do?

I'm a human being and of course I identify myself by the things I do.

6. are you religious/spiritual?

Yes to both.

7. do you care about your ethnicity?

I care about my roots and love genealogy but I'm not possessed by it.

8. what musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime?

Any trumpet player - Botti, Alpert, Satchmo, Dizzy.....

9. are you an artist?

Kinda, sorta.

10. do you have a creed?

Not one that I've ever written down or thought about as a 'creed'.

11. describe your ideal day.

Any day I don't have to get up at 5:00 a.m.

12. dog person or cat person?

We have three cats, but I also love dogs.  Just don't want one right now.

13. inside or outdoors?

Inside.  I have transitioned to inside.  I'm an old lady now.

14. are you a musician?

I used to be. A long time ago I played trumpet (for 6 years in school).

15. five most influential books over your lifetime.

Gosh.... the Bible (of course); Gone With The Wind; The Once and Future King; The Shack; The Outlander series  They are all about love and strength and perseverance.

16. if you’d grown up in a different environment, do you think you’d have turned out the same?

I think your environment and family connections do have much to do with your attitude and your approach to life.  It's been proven that genetics play a part, but had I not been in a loving and supportive family and in a small town environment, I'm sure I would be a little different.

17. would you say your tumblr is a fair representation of the “real you”?

I don't use tumblr.... but Blogger is an excellent representation of who I am.

18. what’s your patron-us?

As a Catholic, my Patron Saint is Elizabeth Ann Seton. I chose her when I was confirmed.  She was American, a mother, and a teacher. I identified with her more than any other Saint.  If this isn't the answer you were looking for, I'm not sure what patron-us means.

19. which Harry Potter house would you be in? or are you a muggle?

I'm a muggle.

20. would you rather be in Middle Earth, Narnia, Hogwarts, or somewhere else?

I would just as soon stay right where I am and just enjoy those worlds through the books!

21. do you love easily?

Yes, I think I do (and am also too trusting, usually).

22. list the top five things you spend the most time doing, in order.

Computer (work, blogger, and FB); watching TV; cooking; laundry; caring for Joe & the cats.

23. how often would you want to see your family every year?

I LOVE seeing our family members and would have some of them here just all the time if we could!

24. have you ever felt like you had a “mind-meld” with someone?

Yes.  I like when you feel that "click" that helps form a friendship.

25. could you live as a hermit?

I am fine being alone, but wouldn't want to be a hermit.

26. how would you describe your gender/sexuality?

I am woman, hear me roar!!  LOL  I am not a girly girl but I enjoy being a girl. Being female has never left me wanting.  I'm not a feminist. I think we have more power and influence in the world than any feminist can understand.

27. do you feel like your outside appearance is a fair representation of the “real you”?

Pretty much...you can tell I like to be comfortable and I like to eat!!  Ha ha ha.

28. on a scale from 1 to 10, how hard is it for someone to get under your skin?

It depends on the situation, but I am usually pretty patient and accepting.  Once in awhile, though, I may just need to get away from someone for awhile.

29. three songs that you connect with right now.

You know, I love music, but I just don't listen to it that much.  The radio is on in the car, on the oldies station and that's about it.  I connect with oldies because I'm old.  I like understanding the words and having the words not be nasty.

30. pick one of your favorite quotes.

Psalm 91:11 For he will command His Angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;

------------------------------------------------------

Our son, Joey, has worked his butt off again for us this weekend.  The twin beds are together, even though they aren't placed how I wanted them. They took up more space than anticipated.  It will work though.  I'll have pictures in my recap tomorrow.  He also helped Joe get the shed organized and we got the storage locker emptied out in time to not have to pay for May! Hooray!

Thanks for your visit!  Wishing you a blessed Sunday and month of May.
Peace & hugs.

The Saturday 9...Carpenters

Thanks to Sam Winters for this week's Saturday 9!!  Join in the fun and link up with others!

I Won't Last a Day without You

BERJAYA
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to Previewanswer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!

Saturday 9: I Won't Last a Day without You (1972)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song makes reference to rainbows. Have you seen one lately?  Only in photos on Facebook. We haven't had rain in weeks!

2) When Sam heard this song, it occurred to her that she wouldn't last a day without a game of online Yahtzee. What little commonplace pleasure reliably brightens your day?  Winning a game of Solitaire on my phone but the best pick-me-up is my daily devotional.

3) Richard Carpenter was emphatic that his group's name was "Carpenters," NO "the." Whenever he hears the group referred to as "The Carpenters," it gets on his nerves. What little commonplace annoyance reliably sets you off?  People spell my name wrong all the time (first & last).  Should be used to it by now, but it still bugs me.

4) Karen Carpenter said she drank iced tea all day long. What beverage do you think you'll have with your next meal?  Just plain old water (no lemon).

5) "I Won't Last a Day without You" was written by Oscar-winning composer Paul Williams. He also tried his hand at acting, most notably appearing with Burt Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit. Back in the 1970s, the three movies in the Smokey series were very popular. Have you seen any of them?  I saw the first one years and years and years ago.

6) This song was recorded in 1973 by Diana Ross. Now in her 70s, Miss Ross is still going strong with a busy calendar of appearances in 2017. What's your favorite Diana Ross song? Well, it goes back to when she was in The Supremes and I like most all of them. Love early Motown.  Baby Love, Stop in the Name of Love.  Diana alone...I'm Coming Out.

7) In 1972, the year this song was popular, the United States and the United Kingdom joined forces and launched the Copernicus satellite. Today it's remembered for the discovery of long-period pulsars. Crazy Sam got bored writing this question. Do you enjoy reading about science? It depends. Sometimes it fascinates me but other times I'm with Sam, looking for somewhere else to be.

8) Before Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz was American's premier Olympic swimmer. In 1972 he won seven Gold Medals. After making millions in endorsements and TV appearances, he settled into a career as a realtor in Los Angeles. Are you contemplating a change in residence any time soon? If you move, will you be consulting a realtor?  Just completed a move and we did not have to use a realtor to sell, but our buyers had one.

9) Random question: Which of these is completely, 100% UNTRUE of you -- boring, lazy or stupid?  I'm not stupid.  Ignorant sometimes about things, but not stupid....

BERJAYA

Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for peeking in on this Saturday!  Our son is here this weekend helping us again....

Peace & hugs!!

BERJAYA

It's Friday and I usually link up with Debbie, at Breathing In Grace, for Friday Foto Friends.  Usually.

But...it IS Friday and we are having dinner tonight with friends and our son will be here all weekend to help us complete the last couple of big projects we have.  It's all good. Praise God.

Thankful Thursday Link-Up....

If it's Thursday, Friday can't be far away!  I am linking up with Rebecca Jo, at Knit By God's Hand, for her Thankful Thursday meme.

BERJAYA

I am so thankful that I got to meet my blogging friend, Cheryl, in person this week!  And her husband Pat.  Great fun and such a blessing.

BERJAYA

Thankful for co-workers and friends who are like family.  Gregory came over on Saturday to help move a refrigerator and to hang our art on the walls. Nearly four hours given to us.  I need to include Matt, too, who came to help with the refrigerator. Such a blessing.  We will take them out to eat soon.

BERJAYA

Thankful for our friends, Teena and Randy.  Teena is also our barber and is the one who helped us sell our house to another client of hers. We are taking them to dinner tomorrow night to thank them for making it all happen by getting us together with the Bayhans. Blessed.

Thankful for our son, Joey, who is coming this weekend to help us (again) put beds together and to bring things over from the storage unit.  The loft is waiting for Christmas decorations and we can be done with that monthly expense! Such a blessing!

Thankful that the railings on our new front stoop will be installed on Monday!! I will feel so much safer then!  Love the new steps and landing/stoop! Blessed that we could get it done.

Thankful that I am nearly done with the coughing and cold, hoping Joe will soon be feeling better too. He is coughing and coughing and coughing.  The doctor he saw today didn't give him any meds for it. Just told him he needed to get through it. It has been awful.  Coricidin Night has been allowing him to sleep, thank goodness!

Thanks for your visit!!  Check out Rebecca's blog if you have time!  Peace & hugs!!

This Week's Wednesday Hodgepodge....

Thanks to our Hodgepodge hostess, Joyce, for this week's Q & A!  Join the fun HERE!!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 305

Here are the questions for this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge.

From this Side of the Pond

1. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Has your April been filled with showers? Do you carry an umbrella, wear a slicker, or make a run for it? Besides rain, what else has filled your April?  Very little rain in our April. I have an umbrella in the car but in Florida, we usually just make a run for it.  My April has so far been filled with lots of love!

2. What's something you could you give a 30-minute presentation on at a moment's notice and
with zero preparation?  I could probably do 30 minutes on fund accounting 101;  how much I love Lakeland; I could do a tour at Polk Museum of Art (not about the art so much, but on the building).

3. Share with us a favorite food memory from childhood.  I grew up in corn and pig country. My hometown still has an annual Sweet Corn Festival, so I have tons of memories of sweet corn, the steak sandwiches in the senior class booth, the candy apples in the junior class booth, and those delicious chicken & noodles in the Methodist Church booth.

4. What's a song you thought you knew the lyrics to, but later discovered you were wrong?  Practically all of them!  LOL

5. According to one travel website, the most overrated tourist attractions in America are-

Niagara Falls (NY), Hollywood Walk of Fame (California), Times Square (NYC), Epcot (FL), Seattle Space Needle (WA), and Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market (Boston). How many of these have you seen in person?  Three - Niagara Falls, Times Square, and Epcot.  Did you feel like a tourist? Yes, except for Epcot, since we live nearby.  Did you care?  Did I care about feeling like a tourist? I don't understand the question.  Tell us about a place (not on the list) you've visited that might be considered a tourist trap, but you love it anyway.  Tarpon Springs, FL.

6. Your signature clothing item?  I don't wear dresses anymore, so slacks are a signature item, I guess.  I don't leave the house without earrings, so maybe earrings.

7. What's an experience you've had you think everyone should experience at least once?  A gondola ride on the Grande Canal in Venice, Italy!! Why?  Why not?  Romantic, historic, a blessing!

BERJAYA

8. Insert your own random thought here.  Not random, but yesterday was such a great day!  I got to meet Cheryl Nunn, a long-time blogging and Facebook friend!  She and her husband Pat drove over to Lakeland from their vacation in St. Augustine.  We met them at the Museum where we toured the art on both floors and spent some time in the gift shop (of course!).  We took them to lunch at our favorite little Italian restaurant, Il Forno, where we all ate until we were more than full.  Since we were close to our home, we took them there for some coffee and more visiting. We were happy to show them our new house and have some time to just visit.  After that, we took them on a little mini-tour of our beautiful Lakeland, including three of our lakes and the stadium where the Detroit Tigers do their spring training (Cheryl is from Michigan).  Back to the Museum to drop them off at their car and we had to say good-bye much too soon.  Genuine, wonderful people. I have never been disappointed when meeting a blogging friend in person.  We really are who we say we are. Such a blessing to be part of this group of friends here!

I had to do a shadow photo with Cheryl.  She always does shadow photos to post on Facebook. I urged her to get back to Blogger. I miss her stories and photos!

Thanks for your visit today!!  Peace & hugs!

Tuesday Fun!!!

I usually just do a Tuesday blessing.  Today's blessing is so much more!!  Those of you who have been connected here with me for awhile know how much I love meeting my blogging friends in person.  Check out the tab above "Have We Met In Person" and you can see that I have met quite a few of you dear friends face-to-face.

Cheryl and I have been blogging friends for a long time, starting back on Multiply.  She isn't blogging these days, but we have remained friends on Facebook.  They are in Florida to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary and they are coming to Lakeland today so we can meet in person!!

BERJAYA

I took the day off, but we are meeting at the Museum so they can see it first, then we are going to lunch and I hope we will have time to show them around our beautiful city.  It's a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive to St. Augustine, where they are staying. Joe and I planned to drive over there, but Cheryl said she really wanted to come to Lakeland and see the Museum. I am so happy and excited!  This is such a great blessing!!

There will be photos to share!!

Thanks for your visit today!  Peace & hugs!

Weekend Recap on Monday....

BERJAYA

Saturday was a good day for us!  Two things happened in our 'still-moving-in' adventure.

First of all, when we moved in, I wanted our extra refrigerator to 'live' in the shed. It had been in the garage at the old house. I really can't be without that extra refrigerator for water (by the case at Sam's Club) and extra food and platters when we have company.  Joe agreed, even though he voiced his opinion that we would get tired of running out to the shed.  Well...he was right.  Yes, I ate crow and he has said "I told you so" at least a half-dozen times.

Two friends (and co-workers) came Saturday morning with an appliance mover to help get the 'fridge from the shed into the office/den.  They are young and able-bodied and it only took about a half hour. God bless them.  Love having it handier.

One of those guys, Gregory, agreed several weeks ago to help me hang our art on the walls.  He has hung over 40,000 pieces of art in the museum when he was our preparator.  He has been with the Museum for 21 years - a year longer than me.  Now he is our techie guy and head of operations and security, but he can still hang art without putting a half-dozen holes in the wall for each piece (the way I usually do it).

BERJAYA
There he is measuring and leveling.

BERJAYA

BERJAYA

BERJAYA

Gregory is also a sculptor and photographer.  He went to Yellowstone a couple of years ago, on a photography workshop/vacation.  When he sent photos back, I fell in love with this one....

BERJAYA

It is not photoshopped.  There was a brush fire which caused the smokey look.  The man in the kayak just struck me.  It brings me such peace. It looks so quiet - I would love to have been on the water at that moment in the early morning.  Gregory gifted me with the print.  It gets lost against our cream colored walls, so he suggested we get a piece of poster board in a darker blue and he will mount it on the wall behind it for us. That will really make it pop.  (The print is on metal, so it can't be framed.)

The house really feels like home now, with our art on the walls, and I also got my little "pretties" out on the new shelf we bought a few weeks ago.  I still need some plate easels and hangers for the plates, but I am happy with it. Every time I walk by, I move something, but it is 'getting there'. Still a little crowded...

BERJAYA

Joe and I didn't do much of the work Saturday, but we were both exhausted.  LOL  We are still coughing our heads off, though we feel okay - except for the frustration of the coughing.  We didn't go to church again because of the coughing. Too embarrassing. Sunday we didn't get up until shortly after 10:00. We both needed the sleep.  I did get the laundry done and made a nice brunch for us of waffles and scrambled eggs, then a dinner of pork chops, mashed potatoes, and corn.

Our son will be here this coming weekend and will help us get the twin beds put together in the 2nd guestroom.  Almost done..almost!!  It has taken a village, but we are getting there!

Back to work today.  August 1st will be here soon...

Thanks for peeking in!  Peace & hugs.

Sunday Stealing....

Thanks to Bud for this week's stolen questions!! Always fun!!

The Mommy Time Questions

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog

authored by Bud Weiser. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") BERJAYA

We found this gem from a site called MommyeTime. It's not clear if she wrote or stole the questions. From the site's set up, it appears the blogs purpose was to help raise children and saving (or better phrased as "helping") your marriage. The picture here is from the blog, but we're pretty sure it's not the author. And to add to our confusion of not finding a picture of the site's writer(s), we couldn't even find a name.

And now Stealing!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

Sunday Stealing: The Money Time Questions

1. What are five passions that you have? (If you have less than five, tell us what you do have interests.)  Family; Faith; Food; Fun; Friends

2. List up to ten random facts about yourself. I will retire in three months; I am tired and ready to retire; I love cats; I love art; I love Joe; I love our family (all of them!); I love our new home; I used to play trumpet; I wish I could play piano; I usually feel unworthy.

3. List five people (personal, historic, living or dead) who have had a major impact on your life or the way you think. My mom; my dad; Joe; my brother and sisters.....lots more than five.

4. List 5 things you'd tell your 15 year-olds self, if you could.  Stay fit; save your money; love with all your heart; cherish your family because you will lose them too soon; have fun.

5. What is a major strength that you have? (You can list more than one. Staying with our no rules approach.)  My faith makes me strong in so many ways, but I am organized and stubborn.

6. What is a major weakness that you have? (You can list more than one. STILL staying with our no rules approach.)  I am too trusting most of the time.

7. Describe the family dynamic of your childhood versus your family dynamic now.  I grew up with family all around and close enough to have BIG holidays with everyone there. Now, everyone is far away and we rarely are all together.

8. What popular notion do you feel that the world has most wrong?  That open borders are good.

9. Name three things that always cheers you up when you are down.  Food, going out to eat, did I mention good food?

10. Name three things would you like to be remembered for?  That I was a good friend, a good wife and a good step-mom/grandma.

Thank you for playing this week on Sunday Stealing! Please consider liking WTIT on Facebook. Click here. Link when you have posted. Stop back and visit other player’s posts. That is really what this is all about, making new friends! Have a great week. See you next Sunday!

Saturday 9...Petula Clark

Thanks to Samantha for this week's Saturday 9!

Don't Sleep in the Subway

BERJAYAWelcome to Saturday: 9. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Don't Sleep in the Subway (1967)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) Subways can be bright and noisy. Do you need it dark and quiet before you can fall asleep?   Dark, yes.  I need our 'noise' machine on ocean waves though or at least a quiet "whirrrr" going on in the background.

2) In this song, Petula encourages her lover to talk it out instead of walking out. Do you usually remain reasonable during a disagreement?  Yes, most of the time...but I can be passionate now and then.  We'll leave it at that.

3) Petula was a child star in England during WWII. Her BBC broadcasts were very popular with the British troops, who nicknamed her The Singing Sweetheart. Soldiers pasted her photo onto their tanks for luck as they went into battle. Do you have any little rituals or good luck charms that calm/comfort you when you're afraid?  Nope.

4) Now 84, she recently told London's Daily Mail that she's surprised and thrilled to have found love again with a new man. Do you believe you'll ever be too old for romance? Heck no!!

5) Her family is far flung. She lives in London, her middle daughter is in Paris, her son is in Los Angeles and her oldest daughter lives in New York with Petula's two grandchildren. Who is your nearest friend or relative?  Nearest relative is Joe; Granddaughter Lauren is three hours away.  Which one is farthest away?  Son#2 is in Virginia and the rest of my siblings are in Ohio - a toss up.  Joe's siblings are in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

6) In 1967, when this song was popular, Rolling Stone published its first issue. John Lennon was on the cover. Publisher Jann Wenner reports that, either individually or as a group, the members of The Beatles have appeared on the most Rolling Stone covers. What's the first Beatle song that comes to mind?  I Want To Hold Your Hand.

7) In 1967, Star Trek was in its second season on NBC. Who is your favorite Star Trek character?  I'm not a Trekkie. Have never watched it.  Sorry.

8) RANDOM QUESTION: When you slip into jeans or slacks, which foot do you put in first?  Always the right.

9) As you considered #8, did you mime pulling on your pants?  Nope.

Thanks for your visit today!  Have a great Saturday!  Peace & hugs!!

Friday Foto Friends.....

Thank goodness it's FRIDAY and that also means it is Friday Foto Friends day with Deb, over at Breathing In Grace.  Join us in this link-up!!

BERJAYA

Joe has been supervising the work on our new entrance!  I'm SO excited to have this done, even though we don't have the railings yet, I consider it done.  The railings will come in a week or so.

Our entrance has been not very attractive or inviting and it was extremely hard to get up the steps and get through the doors, especially with groceries or packages.  Here is what our front door looked like.

BERJAYA

Picture this... step up on the first step and open the storm door, then step up on the second step while holding the storm door open with your elbow. Then you step up on the top step and put the key in to open the wooden door.  Not real safe anytime, but not at all with bad knees.

Maceo was recommended to us by the managers here.  He has done work in Mas Verde and we were pleased with what we saw, out and about.

BERJAYA

BERJAYA

BERJAYA

And this is the finished entrance, without the railings.  I'll have to post another picture when we get the railings installed.

BERJAYA

BERJAYA

It makes that section of our carport a little more narrow, but we can still pull a car up and open the doors. It's going to be so much better!

So that's our most recent project, almost done.  Thanks for peeking in!!  Happy Friday! Peace & hugs.

Thankful Thursday Link-up....

BERJAYA

I am linking up with Rebecca Jo, at Knit by God's Hand, for her Thankful Thursday meme.  Check out her blog if you haven't yet.  She is always good for a giggle and she loves Beauty and the Beast.

I am thankful that the coughing spells are fewer.  Sorry that Joe is battling the same cold now and is a few days behind me on getting over it.

I am thankful my sister and brother-in-law arrived home safely in Georgia. It was great getting to visit for a few days.

Thankful that we found a good contractor to re-do our front entrance. I can't wait to post the before and after photos tomorrow!  We also got a front yard full of new sod! Now Joe can work on getting the flower bed done like he wants it.  Pictures of that later too!

BERJAYA

Thankful that our friend, Gregory, is coming this weekend to help me get our artwork hung. He has a good eye for it, after hanging art in the Museum for 20 years. Once that is done and we get the twin beds put together, I'll finally feel like we are pretty much "done" with moving in!!  I'm saying that, knowing there are still three boxes in the den with sewing and art supplies in them.  No hurry....August 1st is coming!!!

Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs!!

The Hodgepodge is Flying....

Joyce is back from her travels and that means we have a Hodgepodge this week!!  Join in the fun HERE and then link up with all of us Hodgepodgers!!  Thank you, Joyce!

BERJAYA

1. Tell us about a time you felt like you were 'flying by the seat of your pants'.  Oh my, too many times to even single one out!  I actually think it's the best way to learn!  Do or die!!  Jump in and learn to swim (so to speak).

2.  When or where would you most like to be 'a fly on the wall'?  Again, I can think of lots of times it would have been nice to hear what people were saying about 'whatever'.....

3. 'Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.'-Henry David Thoreau

Would you agree?  Yes.  Why or why not?  Good things come to those who wait... it's not an uncommon thread.  Isaiah 40:31   but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

4. Share a favorite movie, book, or song with flying in it's title, lyrics, or theme somewhere.  Not necessarily a favorite, but it's the first one that came to mind. Fly Me To The Moon.....

5. What is one task or chore you tend to do 'on the fly'? Is this something that really needs to be done another way?  Picking up cat hair clumps instead of vacuuming the rugs.  I seem to do this every time I walk through a room at home. With three cats and two that shed incessantly, there is always a cat-hair-tumbleweed blowing through or stuck on a rug.

6. What was happening the last time you thought to yourself or said aloud, 'Wow, time flies when you're having fun', and you meant it.  At the end of every weekend!  LOL  Mondays come around much too fast.  Come on August 1st!

7. This Thursday is National Garlic Day. Will you add garlic to your menu on Thursday?  I have no idea what I'll have for dinner tomorrow, but there is always garlic in the 'fridge so it's possible.  Do you like garlic?  Yes, I do. What's your favorite dish made with garlic?  I can eat most any pasta with garlic and butter as the only sauce.  Throw in some shrimp and I'm in heaven!

8
. Insert your own random thought here.  I am anxious to get home tonight and see our new entrance to the house!  It is so awkward to go in and out with the door and steps configured as they are.  The new landing and double steps will make a huge difference!! Watch for photos on Friday!!

Thanks for your visit today! Wishing you a blessed Wednesday!  Peace & hugs!!

Tuesday Blessings....

BERJAYA

My Monday was quiet.  My sister and hubby left around 9:00 a.m.  We had a good breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, and cinnamon rolls before they hit the road.  I did hear from her that they arrived home safely, praise God!

I got the laundry done, vacuumed and dusted a bit.  Since Monday is trash day, I cleaned out the refrigerator of the little bits and pieces of leftovers that I know we wouldn't eat.

Back to work today.  I could have used another day, but August 1st is coming!!  (The first day of my retirement...August 1st!!)

May you have a blessed Tuesday and week ahead!! Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs.

Easter Weekend Recap on Monday...

BERJAYA

For the first time ever, Joe and I missed Easter Sunday Mass.  Joe has caught my cold and we both spent the night coughing and blowing.  We decided that no one at church would want to be seated near us because the coughing comes on so suddenly and is miserable until it stops.  We are doing our best to make sure Tammy and Bruce don't get it. There are sanitizers and wipes in every room. Fortunately, we feel okay. No fever...just the incessant coughing and blowing.

Our Friday started out great!  We drove over to Indian Rocks Beach to meet Bruce's sister, Kathy and her wife, Gretchen. They are wintering in St. Pete and it was a great opportunity for them to get together. The reunion was so much fun!  Lunch was at PJ's Oyster Bar because Bruce and Kathy love oysters (I refuse to eat them! Yuck!).

I had a grouper sandwich and fries.  Joe had shrimp.  Delicious!

When we got back to Lakeland, the 'boys' decided to watch some TV while Tammy and I went to Sam's Club for a few things.  On the way home from there, my back right tire blew!  It went fast and we still don't know what happened, but the tire looked like someone stabbed it with a knife.  We were stranded about a half mile from home, but Tammy's van was behind Joe's car, so they couldn't rescue us.  As I was calling AAA to come to our rescue, two young men stopped and asked if they could help.  We accepted and they proceeded to swap the flat for my donut spare.  We were back on the road in 20 minutes.  Richard and Fernando were probably in their low 20s, were perfect gentlemen and would not accept the $20 I offered.  They did say I could do a "shout-out" on Facebook, which I did. God bless them!  My sister said they stopped to help because we are so 'hot'.  I laughed and said no, it's because we remind them of their grandmothers!  LOL

Joe and I had to go to Walmart Saturday morning for two new tires. Not how we wanted to spend our morning, but it was necessary.  When we got back home, Tammy wanted to go to the Salvation Army thrift store and then we went to Publix for the rest of our Easter dinner.

Sunday, Joe and I had every intention of going to 8:00 a.m. Mass, but I explained that above.  I got the ham in the oven to start warming (spiral sliced) and started some baked beans.  The rest of our meal was cold salads from Publix.  Potato salad, pasta salad, carrot salad, sweet cole slaw and a marshmallow sweet fruit salad.  Helen and Cheryl brought a berry pie, a chocolate cream pie, and lemon meringue pie.  We did not push away from the table hungry.  The Easter Bunny also left baskets of goodies for everyone.

We praised God with thanksgiving for the gift of His Son and for our salvation.

I have today off, so will be doing laundry and cleaning up after company. It has been a great weekend.

Thanks for your visit!!  Peace & hugs!!

Saturday 9 is Hopping....

Thanks to Samantha for this week's Saturday 9!  Join the fun HERE!

This Is the Way the Bunny Hops

We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: This Is the Way the Bunny Hops

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) Why do you suppose there are so many songs about Santa Claus, yet very few about the Easter Bunny?

I haven't a clue.

2) This song was written by The Kiboomers, two early education teachers who are passionate about the power of music to help kids learn. Tell us about a teacher who had an impact on your life.

My band/music teacher, Mr. Hoeltzel. My art teacher, Mrs. Buskirk. Without music and art, high school would have been so boring for me!

3) Legend has it that the Easter Bunny was introduced to America in the 1700s by German immigrants. These children waited for a magic creature who left colored eggs. Today's kids dye Easter eggs themselves. When did you most recently color eggs?

It's been years and years ago. I don't think I've ever colored eggs during my adult years.

4) The Easter Bunny is usually shown carrying a wicker basket filled with eggs, toys, and candy. Is there any wicker in the room you're in right now?

Yes, because I have a small collection of antique baskets that sit on top of a curio cabinet.

5) While marshmallow Peeps are manufactured all year around, they are most popular at Easter. Do you prefer the chicks or the bunnies?

I don't care for peeps at all. Yuck.

6) A little time in the microwave can do ugly things to a Peep. Have you ever nuked a Peep?

No.

7) Would you prefer a hollow or a solid chocolate bunny?

Solid....more chocolate!

8) A traditional American Easter dinner usually includes glazed ham or roast lamb. Which would you rather have as your main course?

We always have ham for Easter dinner.

9) Easter is considered the season of rebirth. What makes you feel refreshed or rejuvenated?

A good night's sleep and no alarm clock.  But Easter is all about our sins being forgiven and the blessed promise of life everlasting for believers. Praise God!! What more do we need?

Wishing you all a blessed Easter Sunday. I'll do a weekend recap on Monday, with pictures!

Peace & Hugs!
