Simple Sunday....

I've chosen to not do Sunday Stealing today.  The questions didn't interest me, so I'm just doing a few tidbits to capture our Friday and Saturday....

Friday, Joe, Jeff and I drove over to Tarpon Springs. I've written about Tarpon Springs many times before.  It is a favorite destination for us because we enjoy all the shops along the sponge docks and love the Greek food, bread, and pastries. Jeff requested that we go, and we couldn't say no! LOL

Jeff enjoyed a Greek beer with his Gyro.

My Gyro, with a couple of bites taken out of it. So good!!  All three of us had the Gyro.

 Inside Hella's restaurant.

Just a few of the goodies in the bakery at Hella's.

I had the chocolate kok.  Could only eat half of it.

We all had the Greek coffee. It is good, but very strong and quite different.

We headed home soon after finishing the coffee and pastries.  Joe brought three loaves of Easter Bread home with us. Two are in the freezer. It is his absolute favorite thing to get at Hella's. The Greek Orthodox Easter is May 1st this year, so their Easter is still to come.

Yesterday, we had to take Jeff to the airport and say good-bye.  He arrived home safely, and Kali was to pick him up. The traffic for us on I-4, both going to the airport and coming home, was horrendous. There were accidents and back-ups.  We got Jeff to the airport with only an hour to spare. We dropped him off at the departing flights doors and away he went (we got hugs first!).  Coming home, we were able to get off the interstate and take the back roads home. Lots of people were doing the same thing, though, so even Rt. 92 was hectic (but moving!).  Joe and I were both about done in.

Those of you who follow me regularly, know that Sunday is laundry day.  Oh my goodness, I have a two-week backup of laundry to do!!  You know it is making me nuts, so I got it started last night to get a head start.  Extra towels and sheets included. We have had a whirlwind of company and activity at our house.  It has been wonderful!!  I wouldn't trade time with dear friends and family for anything. Worth every extra load of laundry. Absolutely.

Now we have some quiet time ahead, until the Museum's Mayfaire (Mother's Day weekend). At the end of the month, we will be heading to Ohio for my niece's wedding. Between now and then, we can get back to normal...perhaps.

Joe is waiting to hear about a referral to another cardiologist who specializes in ablations.  There is one more medication they can try, too, so we are still waiting to see where this takes us.  He is feeling okay. I'm just trying to keep him quiet and not lifting things, etc. No sense making his heart beat faster than it is already going or putting undo stress on it.  Getting his clients' tax returns done has been hectic enough.

Back to work tomorrow for me. We have a wonderful mural painted by Ruben Ubiera (click the link to see more of his work) over the past week. It is SO fun, with lots of things included from around Lakeland.  He drove around the area "soaking in" the feel and he included so many fun things in the mural.  You really have to see it in person, but here it is....

Thanks for your visit, always!  Peace & hugs.

Sounds like a whirlwind of activity for sure, but it is a good thing. Keeps us young. That painting is gorgeous. I love the colors.

That Greek restaurant sounds pretty cool. Oh I hate traffic...especially Fla. traffic, wink. Have a beautiful rest of the weekend, Terri. Keeping you on prayer.

The older I get the more I detest traffic! Glad you made it home safely. And I have a friend who had ablation and it really put an end to his crazy heart rhythms. BTW, That chocolate dessert looked yummy.

All that food looks yummy. Traffic stresses me out too. I hope the new meds work for Joe.

Oh oh oh! I love that tabletop!

Is Greek coffee the kind with the grounds in the bottom of the cup?

That gyro looks SO GOOD! I haven't had one in awhile and now I'm craving one after looking at your photo.

I also have a two week backup of laundry... soon to be three week. Haha.

I used to work in an office in downtown Knoxville and there was a small hole-in-the-wall Green restaurant called Puelo's. They had the most awesome gyros and what they called a "Ladies Plate", which was a Greek salad and baked potato. YUMMY!!! So glad you had such an awesome time with your sons...now back to the "old grind". :( At least you have some things to look forward to.

I'm glad you got to enjoy the time with Jeff! The mural is so cool and I'm sure even better in person when you can see all those special things he included.
