madison protests / feingold
The numbers in Madison are getting up to 30,000. This is actually DAY 6. Finally, AP reported the event today - and so other media were duty-bound to follow, somewhat. NPR did a fairly good job, (and also did a story on Feingold's new organisation). But, once again, the increasingly disgusting ABC apparently didn't cover it. And CBS only showed a few seconds of what looked like some dopes dancing around inside the Capitol - no pics of the masses outside. The Capitol Square takes up four large city blocks, plus surrounding streets and sidewalks. The crowds have been backed up for blocks BEYOND THAT. And, defying Gov. Scott Walker's attempt to divide them against teachers, etc., 500 State Firefighters marched down the street, into the square, lead by BAGPIPERS. Now - great TV right? Never aired! The only reason CBS aired ANYTHING is because Katie Curic actually has some pull on the Nightly News.
While interviewing Feingold on NPR, Mariah Liaison (or whomever) broke in and said,"But the people have VOTED" - i.e., so why was Feingold even bothering to dispute things like CITIZEN'S UNITED. Even without going into the whole reality that his campaign was targetted by corporate, etc., money to be BROUGHT DOWN - with suspicious vote tallies - Feingold said, "Well, you know what? The people will be voting AGAIN..."
They can't have Gov. Scott Walker recalled until a year from now. And the union-busting bill supposedly has enough Republicans to pass. Do what you can to learn about this, speak up - threaten to boycott the state, even. Because they're coming after your state next - it's a national, GLOBAL, strategy. They don't care about you. They are using cynicism to exploit and destroy the wealth of this country. I've already been kicked, on the curb, and it's REAL.
