☮ I just pressed CTRL + V to paste (what I thought was) the html code for a heart. It wasn't actually a heart. What pasted instead was: Sherlock kisses the corner of his mouth and nuzzles his jaw.
Not exactly the heart I was going for, but lovely nonetheless. :P
☮ slashcast is now multifandom! There's a new episode up today, available here. And you can hear me talk about BBC Sherlock! kriken interviewed me and asked me to squee about it and I was more than willing. Of course, I haven't listened to it yet, so I can't testify to any level of coherence, but I can say that at the end I babble quite enthusiastically about John Watson, which is probably always good for a laugh.
☮ I just got a new mug for tea (not that I needed one. what can I say, it was pretttty!) and I'm in love with it. It comes with a lid and a stainless steel infuser for loose tea that fits right in the mug itself.
Ahhh, tea. ♥
☮ Last night I had a dream where I was with Joshua Jackson and we were solving a mystery caper with lots of adventures and sexual tension and snogging. It was awesome. For tonight I'd really like a repeat with John Watson. I wonder who I need to talk to to make this happen...
☮ Also, thank you all for your lovely comments on my last post. I'm hoping to finish replying later on today. ♥
★ new Cabin Pressure!! This week, Newcastle. No Benedict in this one; he was off with no voice, but it's awesome. This link allows you to stream the episode.
★ So many chocolate userheads and smoooches on my userinfo! Thank you to everyone: smilie117, rilla, lee, tailoredshirt, ven, dementordelta, viridescence, naadi, winstonmom, toast, deerang2002, emmagrant, rickey, ven, dmmccabe, kerry, flypaw, loki, lauriegilbert -- whew, that was kind of awesome. *smoooshes you all*
★ and to smittenfancy for the Orchids. (*affects Martin voice*) Are you about to propose to me?
★ summer school starts on Monday and there's a bit of a SNAFU going on -- I hope things get worked out this afternoon, otherwise Monday is going to be very, very interesting... Good thing about it, though: I'm doing upper school this time, and so many of the kids are former students, but older. Definitely looking forward to having time with them. ♥
★ Absolutely gorgeous John/Sherlock art by livia_caricahere. [pg/pg13, probably SFW, but be cautious] Seriously stunning. I can't stop staring. Nor do I really want to.
★ John Watson. guh. No, no link or anything. It just needed to be said.
★ I have a tea blend from Adagio teas called My Dear Watson [link] -- it's an Earl Grey/Chocolate blend and I really like it. Next time you visit, I'll make a pot and share with you. ♥
Alright, off to finish cleaning the living room, wash my face, and then head to school. *love*
Tea and crumpets for breakfast. Nom. I'm also rather pleased that last weekend I introduced several of copilot's family members to crumpets. They'd never had them before. Now, given that I've only known of the wonder of the crumpet since, oh, March, I feel a little smug about all of the people I've introduced to crumpets in my short, short crumpet-knowing existence. I feel like I ought to get a sort of crumpet award or something.
In other news, I've been playing on tumblr for a couple of weeks now, and finally started up one of my own. I've been mostly following other blogs about Ben and Martin (and Sherlock BBC in general)... but I'd love to connect with some people that I actually know there as well.
Except not, actually, science at all. But really, really awesome nevertheless. Less science and more tea indulgence. This past weekend I was hanging out with incapricious (not a new thing) and we were trying to decide which tea to make. She wished that we could make little bits of about ten different teas and try them all.
Well, I don't have tiny teacups (alas), but we decided to at least try five!
My weekend malaise is setting in (while I'm so excited to see my students again tomorrow, I'm definitely ambivalent about actually going back to work), so I'm combating it with a cup of tea and a Martin Freeman movie [Nativity!] and looking for a smile.
I had an amazing ten (!!!!) hours yesterday, hanging out with incapricious and star98hope. Tea and crumpets and Sherlock and Merlin fanvids and singing You're the Voice with happy, if dubious, voices. ♥
This morning I'm a little worse for the wear, but nothing a proper cup of tea can't fix...
Tea and crumpets for breakfast!! I'll share--I have another full package. ♥
Lots to do today, but after some school, family, and house commitments, I'm hoping to sit and write a bit.
In other news, I found this video in my Martin Freeman youtube search a couple of weeks ago and forgot to share it here. He and Matthew Horne have a "sigh off" and it's just hysterically wonderful.
★ Theatre. Seriously. I would go see a stage show every weekend if I could. And watching both Colin Morgan and Benedict Cumberbatch on stage might just be the thing that makes my little theatre-fannish heart explode. ♥
★ Did I mention Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Morgan??? I don't know if I remembered to put them on this list at all...
I'm all checked in, 92% packed, and have nearly all of my Cumberbatches in order, but am currently fighting with my iPod. My computer is just not recognizing it. And while I know I can listen to music on my phone, I'd been hoping to watch a bit of Merlin and/or Sherlock on the plane. Alas.
TEA: -- lauriegilbert is hosting another tea exchange here. You should all go sign up!!! I did it last time and it was a lot of fun to meet some new people, purchase and send them tea, and then get three packages of new, surprise tea in the mail!
MERLIN: -- reallycorking (aka: goddess of the pen) drew a gorgeous Merlin/Arthur picture last night. I flailed. Seriously. Merlin's jaw is a thing of beauty. Go look: What you need after a good day's hunt [NSFW]
BBC SHERLOCK: -- I'm rewatching this series (this is my third or fourth time) while working on lesson plans and am just dying over how much I love it. Seriously. What I want to do: write hundreds and hundreds of words of Sherlock & John kissing. What I need to do: finish a shit tonne of work for school and work on packing for London.
One of my dearest friends visited on Friday night (we don't see each other more than once or twice a year -- trust me when I tell you this is A CRIME) and told me that my posts about making tea and inviting others to join me always made her fantasize about doing that very thing one day. Naturally, we put on a pot.
And now I'm having withdrawal.
So, my dear friend Squid, this is in honor of you. ♥
I've just made a small pot of lavender white tea, am going to sit down to finish correcting some math assessments, and watch an episode or two of Psych. [this show. it kills me with its crazy characters and absolutely absurd humor. I love it!]
The kettle's warm, if anyone would like to join me...
I said these (exact) words to one of my students today: Benjamin Franklin is not a fairy.
I'm still laughing. ♥ I love hearing some of the words that come out of my mouth during the school day and imagining them out of context. Just to be clear, though, had Benjamin Franklin been a fairy, I'm quite certain he would have wanted to be that fairy. It was awesome.
In other news, I'm heating water for tea to have while I finish up some work for tomorrow. What should I have: Mango Green Tea, Dragon Pearl Jasmine, or a Lavender White tea?
Just made a cup of tea and am sitting down to breathe for a moment or two before getting busy again. *holds mug in hands* Autumn is really here, whoa. Gorgeous leaves, cold, and all.
The water in the kettle is still hot -- anyone want some tea?
I left school a little bit early today for a doctor's appointment, so I'm home far earlier than usual. I thought I'd make a cup of tea and go sit in my backyard and watch my garden grow.
My tea cabinet is open and the water's hot -- anyone care to join me? ♥
Tea time today (late, though, it's now after supper) was Mango Mist tea with a bit of milk & honey, which makes me very nostalgic for Boston. I used to sit in the Tealuxe cafe in Harvard Square with this tea and a good friend and solve all the problems of the world. I wish there were such a tea shop nearby here. Anyone want to open one? I promise to be your most loyal and very best customer!
I just saw shocolate mention this on her journal: there are six weeks to go until submissions for the harryronbigbang fic and art are due. I'm really excited for the possibility of so much lovely long Harry/Ron. Also, what I want less than almost anything in the world is for shocolate to fret about it.
So! Anyone out there that's working on their submission and is starting to get stressed, please don't! If you need someone to bounce ideas off of, or someone to give something a read through and offer impressions/thoughts/ideas, please let me know! (I don't think I can offer beta services, because I'm remarkably slow and rather picky, but thoughts and ideas I'm good at.)
I know I had something else to say, but I'm having far too much trouble remembering what it was. Alas, earwax.
I would really like to institute afternoon tea time into my life. During my winter break, I've been pretty regular about having tea at 4:00 or 4:30ish, and just loving the ritual of it. Today's tea: Pumpkin Spice Chai with a bit of honey and milk. And a biscotti. nom, nom, nom...
I'm also reworking my weekly plansheets for the classroom. I had to change our daily schedule because there were a few things that just weren't working out. Teaching myself how to play around in Excel is rather fun, though I do wonder what it says about me that I'm really excited to sit down and rework my plansheets. copilot says I'm a teaching nerd and I... well, I don't have any clear evidence to refute that...
Am sorting papers to go back into my schoolbag for tomorrow. It'll be really nice to see my students, though with Friday-Sunday being omg, SO BUSY, I certainly wouldn't mind a day to just sit and relax.
secretsolitaire made this gorgeous spring color bar that totally encompasses what today felt like:
It was cold, but sunny and full of pear trees bursting into bloom. I'm looking forward to spring. I can't say we actually had a winter but I'm excited about spring, nevertheless.
Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about tea recently. Last week, I sent fitzette several different kinds in the mail as a sort of sampler. Every time she tries a new one, she emails me with what she was doing and how she took it (with honey or milk or plain or etc...) and what she thought of it. I must confess that I'm enjoying those emails immensely. I love the idea of knowing what someone was doing when they had their tea. Something about the ritual of warm beverages (whatever they may be) just feel so sacred and beautiful to me.
So, I ask you... do you drink tea? Would you be interested in some long, rambling, kaalee post about various types of teas that I'm currently loving?
In case you're like me, here's me, right now: I've brewed a small pot of jasmine green tea blended with rooibos tropica (a red bush tea that's scented with tropical flavors). I put a bit of (usually turbinado) sugar in it and drink it just like that. I'm sitting on the floor of my living room, with papers spread out in front of me. How about you?
Hi there, my old friend! I think LJ notifications might go to my spam email, so I need to look into that. I came back here to look at some old classroom set up pictures (I'm co-writing a book so…
Girl. Every time I think I want to write again I pop out like 1000 words and then I am done for months. But I want to write again, man, do I. I miss fandom and the collective squeal when something…

I was talking with Tara (also annoyed Pea, bless) because I was trying to see if you were on any social media outside LJ.
... I ought to rewind, yes?
We did…
