Day two in San Francisco we had a beautiful sunrise, marveled at the window washers hanging outside the building, and later hit the streets to walk about 2.5 miles to Tartine Bakery for lunch. It is very small and there is no indoor dining right now. We lined up with several others to wait our turn to go inside to order, purchased some sandwiches, drinks, and desserts, and ate outside at a table on the sidewalk which was a great place for people watching.
After lunch I think Rich really just wanted to go back to the condo but I said I wanted to walk around a different neighborhood we had not explored in our previous trips to the city. I looked on a map and there was an area called Noe Valley “not too far” from where we sat, so we decided to head there. It was a very pretty walk through part of the Mission area, Dolores Park, and on to Noe Valley. Some of the streets were VERY steep and Rich was silently or not so silently cursing me for not choosing a more level neighborhood. LOL

We LOVED Noe Valley! It was a really cute, quaint little neighborhood with everything you could want right there within a few blocks. We saw a medical clinic, a dentist’s office, a pharmacy, a bookstore, several restaurants, a park and public gathering place, a hairdresser’s, a bus stop, a florist, a counseling office, a wine shop, clothing stores, a bank branch, you name it. I wanted to move there right away. We even looked up rents…pretty pricy, but it would be fun! We rode a fancy bus back to the condo area and then were too tired to go out to dinner again so we revisited our favorite little store around the corner and had a quiet night in.
