Caleb Banks MIN DT
Vikings' Caleb Banks: Expected back for training camp
4d agoCoach Kevin O'Connell said in June that Banks (foot), who did not participate in spring practices, is expected to be ready by the start of training camp, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Minnesota's rookies are set to report to training camp by July 26, with training camp kicking off for the full team Aug. 1. The Vikings took a cautious approach in the spring with Banks, whom Minnesota drafted 18th overall in April. He sat out spring practices while recovering from a broken bone in his foot, which the defensive tackle out of Florida sustained at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

Ajani Carter HOU DB
Ajani Carter: Expected to play this season
4d agoCarter is healthy enough to play in 2026 after undergoing and rehabbing from arthroscopic knee surgery, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Carter was waived from Houston's injured reserve list Wednesday, but he'll still need to pass a physical before getting another opportunity, whether it's with the Texans or a different team.

Ajani Carter HOU DB
Ajani Carter: Let go by Texans
4d agoHouston waived Carter (knee) from injured reserve Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Carter was waived/injured by the team in May and subsequently reverted to IR. The cornerback is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery undergone mid-May.
-
Xavier Thomas HOU LB
Xavier Thomas: Cut by Texans
4d agoHouston waived Thomas (undisclosed) from injured reserve on Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Thomas had been cut with an injury designation in May and subsequently reverted to IR. The 2024 fifth-round pick has totaled 10 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and one pass breakup across 18 career regular-season games.

Terrion Arnold DET CB
Terrion Arnold: Let go by Detroit
6d agoArnold (shoulder) was cut by the Lions on Monday.
The news comes shortly after an Associated Press report that a Florida judge has set a $1 million bail in connection to Arnold's ongoing felony trial for charges of armed robbery and kidnapping. Arnold is unlikely to resume his NFL career until his legal proceedings conclude.

Omar Cooper Jr. NYJ WR
Jets' Omar Cooper: Solidifying spot in three-wide sets
7d agoCooper was the Jets' most impressive rookie in spring practices and looks to have solidified his spot in three-receiver sets, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
The Jets traded up into the first round to draft Cooper 30th overall. The versatile rookie out of Indiana played both on the outside and in the slot in college, which should help Cooper get on the field consistently alongside Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell. Per Geoffrey A. Knox of USA Today Jets Wire, Mitchell and slot receiver option Isaiah Williams were two of the Jets' top performers during the offseason program, so Cooper will need to continue building on his strong spring to secure playing time. That being said, Cimini expects Cooper's physical playing style to help the rookie shine even more once the pads come on in training camp.

Aaron Nola PHI SP
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Takes loss despite quality start
19m agoNola (3-6) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven over seven innings.
Nola was tagged for two runs in the first inning after Kansas City recorded hits off three of its first five batters, but he settled in nicely from there. The veteran allowed just one more run over his final six innings and finished strong by striking out the side in the seventh. It marked his longest outing of the season, and he generated an impressive 19 whiffs. The performance was a much-needed rebound after he was tagged for a season-high eight runs in his previous start against the Pirates. Nola remains hard to trust, owning a 5.87 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 94:29 K:BB across 92 innings. He is scheduled to face the Tigers on the road next.

Sung-Mun Song SD 2B
Padres' Sung-Mun Song: Tallies two steals Sunday
27m agoSong went 1-for-3 with a run scored, two steals and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Dodgers.
Song drew the start at second base and made the most of his two times reaching base, stealing second in both the seventh and eighth innings. The 29-year-old has looked much improved at the plate of late, going 9-for-31 (.290) over his past 15 games. The former KBO standout is slashing .239/.338/.328 with one homer, nine RBI, 10 runs and nine stolen bases across 77 big-league plate appearances this season, seeing most of his action at the keystone but struggling to earn consistent playing time.
-
Fernando Tatis Jr. SD RF
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Trio of hits in win
43m agoTatis went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a steal in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Dodgers.
Tatis collected a trio of hits, marking his eighth game this season with at least three hits as the Padres snapped an eight-game losing streak. After a brutally challenging start to the season, the 27-year-old has found his rhythm, slashing .299/.343/.480 with four homers, 16 RBI, 19 runs and seven stolen bases over his past 30 games. While the lack of power has been disappointing this season, Tatis continues trending in the right direction, raising his season line to .284/.345/.386 with five homers, 34 RBI, 41 runs and 21 stolen bases across 88 games.
-
Luinder Avila KC RP
Royals' Luinder Avila: Earns fourth win
1h agoAvila (4-3) earned the win Sunday against the Phillies, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out four over five innings.
Avila threw 41 of his 69 pitches for strikes and limited Philadelphia to one hit through the first four innings. His lone blemish came in the fifth, when Bryson Stott tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly one batter later. Avila has now allowed one run or fewer in five of his seven starts since the beginning of June. Two blowup outings have inflated his numbers to a 5.04 ERA with a 27:19 K:BB across 30.1 innings during that span. Avila is scheduled to make his next start on the road against Baltimore.
-
Manny Machado SD 3B
Padres' Manny Machado: Blasts 18th homer
1h agoMachado went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored, a steal and three walks in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Dodgers.
Machado reached base four times, highlighted by a three-run shot to straightaway center field that extended the Padres' lead in the seventh inning. The third baseman has opened July going just 3-for-16 (.188), though each of those three hits has gone for extra bases, including two homers. The 34-year-old has shown off his power with 18 homers this season but has otherwise struggled, slashing .189/.282/.410 with 51 RBI, 44 runs and two stolen bases across 87 games.

Ranger Suarez BOS SP
Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Dealing with adductor tightness
1h agoSuarez departed Sunday's matchup against the Angels in the third inning due to left adductor tightness, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.
Suarez's injury occurred when he made a hop toward a batted ball that turned into a Jo Adell infield single. The lefty hurler showed noticeable discomfort after the play and was promptly removed. Given the nature of the injury, Suarez's ability to make his next start is in considerable doubt. He was recently selected to the All-Star Game, which takes place July 14, but his availability for that contest seems to be in jeopardy as well.

Lachlan Olbrich CHI C
Warriors' Lachlan Olbrich: Scores 13 in SL win
1h agoOlbrich recorded 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four rebounds and four assists in 15 minutes during Sunday's 98- 69 California Classic Summer League win over the Spurs.
Olbrich put together an impressive all-around performance Sunday, leading the second unit in scoring and matching a team high in assists. Through two Summer League games, Olbrich has averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 17.0 minutes per contest. The 22-year-old pro appeared in 37 regular-season games for the Bulls during the 2025 campaign and showed flashes of potential, culminating in a triple-double in the team's regular-season season finale. He will look to continue his strong play at Summer League to secure a deal for the upcoming season.
-
Yaxel Lendeborg GS PF
Warriors' Yaxel Lendeborg: Another solid SL outing
1h agoLendeborg posted 11 points (4-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 24 minutes during Sunday's 98- 69 California Classic Summer League win over the Spurs.
Lendeborg continued his strong shooting from deep Sunday, knocking down a team-high three three-pointers. The Michigan product also led the team in rebounds and blocks. Lendeborg is making a strong impression to kick off Summer League, averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in 23.0 minutes per contest.
-
Ja'Kobi Gillespie SA PG
Spurs' Ja'Kobi Gillespie: Struggles from floor in SL loss
2h agoGillespie logged nine points (4-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four assists, two rebounds and a block in 22 minutes during Sunday's 98-69 California Classic Summer League loss to the Warriors Gold.
Gillespie struggled to get it going during Sunday's blowout loss, scoring just nine points on 12 shots. The rookie second-round pick has now shot just 24.1 percent from the floor through two Summer League appearances. One area where the Tennessee product has done well is distributing, as he has averaged 6.0 assists per contest with a 4:1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
-
Emanuel Sharp SAC SG
Kings' Emanuel Sharp: Solid outing in Summer League
2h agoSharp recorded 18 points (5-15 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 91-85 win over the Warriors Blue at the California Classic Summer League.
Sharp put together a solid all-around performance Sunday, matching team highs in points and rebounds. Through two Summer League games, Sharp is averaging 15.5 points on just 30.8 percent shooting from the floor. While struggling with efficiency on the offensive end, Sharp has shined defensively, averaging 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.
-
Isaiah Stevens SAC PG
Kings' Isaiah Stevens: Scores 18 in Summer League
3h agoStevens (ankle) recorded 18 points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-7), four assists, one rebound and a steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 91-85 win over the Warriors Blue at the California Classic Summer League.
Stevens did not play in the team's first Summer League game and had been dealing with an ankle injury to end the 2025-26 campaign, but he made his return Sunday. Stevens matched Emanuel Sharp with 18 points to lead the Kings. Stevens is on a two-way contract and figures to spend the majority of his time in the G League during the upcoming season.
-
Nick Boyd NBADRAFT PG
Warriors' Nick Boyd: Posts double-double at SL
3h agoBoyd recorded 11 points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 assists, seven rebounds and a steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 91-85 loss to the Kings at the California Classic Summer League.
Boyd bounced back with an impressive all-around performance, finishing just three rebounds shy of a triple-double while leading the Warriors Blue in both rebounds and assists. After struggling in his Summer League debut by shooting just 2-for-10 from the field, he responded with a much more efficient outing in his second appearance. Boyd entered Summer League on an Exhibit 10 contract, but performances like this could help strengthen his case for a more substantial opportunity.

David Gustafsson PIT C
Penguins' David Gustafsson: Lands one-year contract
6h agoGustafsson signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Penguins on Sunday.
Gustafsson was dealt to Pittsburgh from Winnipeg on Monday in exchange for Jack St. Ivany. The 26-year-old Gustafsson didn't appear in a game with the Jets in 2025-26, so he will probably begin the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He has 149 regular-season games of NHL experience, though, so he should be a call-up candidate if he winds up starting the year in the minors.
-
Joel Blomqvist PIT G
Penguins' Joel Blomqvist: Pens two-year contract
6h agoBlomqvist landed a two-year, $1.75 million contract with Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Blomqvist didn't play in a game with Pittsburgh this past season, but he performed well with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, going 16-5-4 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.40 GAA over 26 outings. The 24-year-old is the No. 3 goaltender on the Penguins' organizational depth chart, so he may not see much time with the big club in 2026-27 on the condition that Arturs Silovs and Sergei Murashov are healthy.
-
Arturs Silovs PIT G
Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Agrees to short-term deal
6h agoSilovs agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.8 million contract with the Penguins on Sunday.
Silovs made 39 appearances in his first year with the Penguins in 2025-26, posting a 19-12-8 record, 3.07 GAA and .887 save percentage. The Latvian netminder will certainly have to prove himself in 2026-27 to earn a longer contract next year, which might be difficult if Silovs can't command more playing time than Sergei Murashov and Joel Blomqvist, the latter of whom the Penguins signed to a two-year contract Sunday.
-
Yegor Chinakhov PIT RW
Penguins' Egor Chinakhov: Gets three-year deal
6h agoChinakhov inked a three-year, $18.75 million contract with the Penguins on Sunday.
Chinakhov was acquired by Pittsburgh from Columbus in December, which led to him getting a much bigger role with his new team. The Russian winger set new high-water marks in goals (21), assists (21), shots (140) and games played (72) during the 2025-26 regular season between the two teams. While Chinakhov didn't record a point in the 2026 playoffs, he had a strong end to the regular season, generating eight goals and 22 points over the final 18 games, so he has sleeper appeal heading into this coming season as a top-six player in Pittsburgh.
-
Pavel Mintyukov ANA D
Ducks' Pavel Mintyukov: Locked up by Anaheim
6h agoMintyukov signed a five-year, $36 million contract with the Ducks on Sunday, according to PuckPedia.
With his new deal, Mintyukov is now the second-highest paid blueliner on the Ducks behind Jackson LaCombe. The 22-year-old Mintyukov appeared in a career-high 73 regular-season games in 2025-26, registering eight goals, 22 points, 79 shots, 112 blocks and a minus-3 rating. The 2022 No. 10 overall pick is set to be a staple in Anaheim's top four while seeing ice time in all situations for years to come.
-
Daemon Hunt MIN D
Wild's Daemon Hunt: Lands one-year agreement
7h agoHunt signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with Minnesota on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Hunt contributed six assists, 19 shots on net, 43 blocked shots and 21 hits in 32 regular-season appearances with Minnesota in 2025-26. He will be in the mix for a depth role with the big club during training camp.
