Welcome to GirlieOnTheEdge and Sunday’s prompt word reveal for Six Sentence Stories!
Finding my way to quotes is sometimes a twisty-turny process. Am halfway through a Dan Brown book, reading a little here, a little there. After closing the book this morning, I somehow found myself in possession of today’s quote. We also may find ourselves meandering as we sit to write. “Pen” in hand, we begin with a single word, such as today’s prompt word. Waterfall or slow trickle, it doesn’t matter. We fill a page and somewhere amidst the syllables and consonants are words that transmute to form … a Six Sentence Sentence Story. Why? Because we’re asked each Sunday to use the prompt word provided in our next scene, story, soc or dab of poetry in exactly 6 sentences. Thursday’s Six Sentence Story Blog Hop. A gathering of the most entertaining writers this side of the cosmos, who doesn’t want to escape into story-ville at least once in a while?
Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers.
PROMPT WORD: PLAN
“In an auspicious hour, read your final draft and consider faithfully every paragraph, sentence and word, blacking out where requisite. Let it lie by to drain as long as possible. At the end of that time, re-read and you should find that it will bear a second shortening. Finally, read it aloud alone and at leisure. Maybe a shade more brushwork will then indicate or impose itself. If not, praise Allah and let it go, and “when thou hast done, repent not.” – Rudyard Kipling
