V/Line travel to and from Melbourne is improving all the time…

…with our rolling stock proudly made in Victoria.

Pre-pandemic we celebrated our wedding anniversary…

…with dinner aboard the Q Train…

…in our first-class cabin

Our next train adventure was a bit more modern

than the Old Queenslander…

…a real Red Carpet treatment on both mornings

and umbrellas to keep the rain off

as we boarded the second morning…

…and it was always expected that Canada’s

Rocky Mountaineer

would be something special.

Again we treated ourselves to the

Gold Leaf experience.

The Gold Leaf

cars are on two levels.

Upstairs, guests are seated and view the passing countryside

in the most comfortable train seats possible…

All dining is on the bottom level of Gold Leaf…

…while we were told that meals were brought to where guests

were seated in Silver Leaf carriages.

The difference between carriages is clear in the above photo.

To wrap up our two-day journey a welcoming committee

greeted us upon our arrival in Vancouver
