The current round at retro_icontest is the Icon Crossing round from somein30. I had been working on sets for 2023 and 2024 already, but never finished them. I'm using this round to post those icons I made then, along with the new ones. I also randomized new pairs for 2025 and made new crossover icons for those. As suspected, this was so much fun, and I made a lot more icons than expected. In fact, I don't think I've ever made this many icons for a contest in one month before. Some of them are hilarious crack! :D Luckily, retro_icontest has no upper limit, so here you go:

Rules for icon crossing:
1. take two random icons you made previously (you can define how far you want to go back)
2. pick a characteristic from each 'parent icon'
3. make a new icon featuring both characteristics

In hard mode, you also have to use the same screenshot as one of the parent icons. My icons are a mix of easy and hard mode - I only realized late that easy mode is actually harder for me, lol. :D

I had already made two randomized sets: one in 2023, one in 2024. For the 2023 one I had already made some icons back then, but never posted them. I'm just using this opportunity now to get them out there. You can tell they're old by the fact that they're not of Wu Lei. ;)

Then I made two new sets for this round: for set 1, I randomized one icon from all my Wu Lei, Wu Lei dramas, and Heated Rivalry icons, i.e. the fandoms I wanted to make new icons for, and the second one from all my icons from 2025, 60 pairs in total. I made 24 icons from those. For the second set, I did it as described in the rules and randomized from *all* my icon posts (which was a pain because there are over 600 and dw can only skip up to 500, oops). I only made 8 pairs but managed 6 icons.

Fandoms are mentioned under the sets, everything else is Wu Lei.
