This month's theme at
monthlyinspo was very easy: describe what you did this Summer! I've mixed things I watched with non-fannish things I did. Here goes:
Teasers:
1-3 the new season of Phineas and Ferb + 3: the weather in August was shitty
4-5 work was killing me and I had no way out (Severance)
6 the last four eps of HPI aired in September
7-8 someone recced me Nothing But You
9 and I fell in love with Wu Lei over it
10-11 Wu Lei and Zhu Yilong were in a movie together (Dongji Rescue)
12 Will Love in Spring with Zhou Yutong
13 Wu Lei and Zhao Jinmai (Amidst the Snowstorm)
14-15 Amidst the Snowstorm
1-3
4-6
7-9
10-12
13-15
I'm happy to receive all kind of comments, including concrit! All icons shareable. Credit for brushes and textures I use can be found here in my resource post.

on 2025-09-30 09:57 am (UTC)These are really pretty, so soft and calming. I think 8 is my favourite. It was Amidst a Snowstorm of Love that made me a Wu Lei fan so I'm counting this post as a rec for Nothing but You and I'm gonna go check it out :)

I have actually written a proper Nothing But You rec post, because it is *SO GOOD*. I liked Snowstorm as well, but Nothing But You is by far the better show. And he gets to be just as lovey dovey in it as in Snowstorm, just minus the larger-than-life romantic gestures.
Rec post is here: https://tinny.dreamwidth.org/783372.html
Watch it on viki if you can, the subs are much better.
p.s.: thank you for liking my icons! <3 (It says a lot about my priorities right now that reccing a Wu Lei show is more important to me than anything else oops.)

on 2025-09-30 11:58 am (UTC)Thanks for linking the rec post, it sounds right up my alley! I know a lot of people came to stan Leo through The Long Ballad or Love Like the Galaxy but I just can't with the melodram these days. Easy and light and low stakes is all I can digest and from a quick scan of your rec post - it sounds like Nothing but You might fit that description 🙌🏾

on 2025-09-30 02:23 pm (UTC)Funnily, it's the other way round for me. As long as I have enough energy to be creative, I will make icons. Unfortunately, this summer my work was so exhausting that I had too little energy for anything but watching (fluffy) dramas, so that's what I did. It's really rare for me to be binging this many things in this short a time. (Not that I regret it, lol, I just wish work would finally let me breathe again.)

Noooooooo. *sob* I'm not a fan of costume drama in general, and while I watched Love Like the Galaxy for him, I would not describe it as good by any stretch of the imagination. But since I was already just watching it *for his face*, it served quite well. Snowstorm has him playing the stoic type, too (although I liked the glimpses we got of the character's thoughts and insecurities there, so it wasn't all the typical trope), but on Nothing But You, he's much more playful, and that really endeared him to me.
I have not seen the Long Ballad that's the one with Dilraba isn't it? Ah well, maybe at a later point.

It does, it's fluffy without being meaningless. It's all-around well written, one of the best cdramas I've seen.
