Another one from Coal Drops Yard, this time a bit of colour and some distant people, and those geometric umbrellas…for some reason it has me thinking of Alain Resnais’ film “L’année dernière à Marienbad”:

Can only view it on my phone, Sue, but it looks nicely dramatic 😍💕
I like to think it is, Jo!
I know what you mean. This image from that film springs to mind.

Best wishes, Pete.
Yes, sharp shadows, strong, geometric shapes and rather marionette-like people…. Thanks for digging out that image, it was hovering on the periphery of my memory
i barely see the umbrellas and even after you pointed them out they were still quite subtle – what really popped for me was the organic shape made by those flowers – and the small verticals from the people – but it isn’t like a blob of an island
now when i zoomed in – the two umbrellas are felt more and that polka dot shirt….
It is true that we all see things I different ways!
so true — and with great compositions in photos – which you give us with your selection of photos – well that is the beautiful part – more offerings for the viewer with rich shots!
and i just love looking down at that blob of a flower island – hahah
Teehee!
