Brokeback Mountain Fic Rec: That Time a Yours a Horseback by
neuontz (Jack/Ennis; NC17) But Ennis couldn't get enough of Jack's playful quality. Ennis had been raised without games or toys of his own, and yet here he was, twenty years old with his own live Jack doll, fine-made and smooth, sturdy of limb and wide in the heart. The initial fear that constricted Ennis never quite left him all that summer, but he began to tease around, skittish as a colt, sneaking up behind Jack to grab him unaware, try to make him jump. A weightlessness had come into Ennis's heart he had never known before.

N’arartu threw up his claws in despair. “Is there anyone close to her that you aren’t scared of? What about the vampire with a soul?”
“Which one?” Black, oily tears of self-pity dripped off the end of D’oran’s nose. “She’s collecting them like stamps. And that kid sister is a hair-puller!”

"What's a Gaggia?"
"One of those fancy Italian bad boys." Tony answered with a smile and sat down next to Gibbs. He didn't want to crowd him, but the couch wasn't all that large. Now it was Tony's turn to flip on the laser beam stare. "They'll do everything but your taxes."
"I don't know." Gibbs held his gaze for a moment, then looked down. "Maybe I need one of those fancy Italian bad boys."

Despite the fact that I don’t read WIPs, this fic was the exception that proved the rule. I’ve been rec’ing each part of Bell Curve, or Ladies Night at the Boom Boom Room as it was written, but now I can rec it in its entirety!

Rodney hated the cab driver (who was smirking at him) and the day manager (who was also smirking at him) and everybody else in the whole wide world.
And more than anything–anything--he hated the tenured professor who said, "Hey, Dr. McKay, they're making TA assignments today--ha ha, I can't wait to see who gets stuck with you!"
He scowled indiscriminately around the department offices and then crawled off into his office, clutched at his blotter, and prayed it was somebody meek and easily cowed and tried very, very hard to forget about Charlie the porn tank, Charlotte the sloppy drunk, the shemale twins, and John, the very bad no good horrible stripper of a bartender.
And it had almost worked, too, when Rodney heard a knock at his door, looked up, and found the very same very bad no good horrible stripper of a bartender in a gray t-shirt and jeans, consulting a sheet of crumpled paper in his hands, hair still in full West Hollywood style, saying, "Hey, is this Dr. McKay's office? I’m your……TA……"
Rodney stared. John stared back. Both of them turned white.
Then, Rodney put up his hand and said, "Just--hold whatever you're about to say."
He fell upon his coffee, drank it in one chug, set the mug down, and said, "Okay, okay, we can start freaking out now."
Learning Curve by
rageprufrock (McShep; NC17; AU - sequel to Bell Curve)
"Jesus," he hears somebody curse low under their breath, low under the music, next to him, and when Rodney turns to look, he finds somebody looking at John, eyes heavy with want and Rodney can't help but smile at that, jealously possessive and feeling an illicit thrill at it. He's bad enough that when John comes over he reaches out until he catches John's left hand, all shiny with a boring gold band--something else out of their alter egos--before he slips his fingertips just under John's shirt, feels the softening midsection there and just smiles in response to John's raised eyebrow.
"That's not on the bar menu," John shouts over the music, and Rodney bursts out laughing as John smacks away Rodney's hand. "Keep it clean, buddy."
"In that case," Rodney says, "gimme a beer--a good one. None of that horse piss."
John's eyes shine. "I don't know--you look like you work for the university. You sure you can afford anything off tap?"
"Money's not an issue," he says, and he makes sure it's an utterly filthy leer, looking John up and down. He can't believe he's the same guy who picked up his kids from their alternative-learning Montessori school in a fucking Jetta earlier today.

rageprufrock (McShep; R: AU - Hindsight ‘verse) "John Sheppard, you utter moron! You're the only person in the world who could get caught in a hostage situation trying to deposit a check!"
John covered his face. "Oh God," he said.
Darren stared. "Is that your lady?" he finally asked, mortified.
"Lady is such a strong word for him," John answered.

audrarose (Sam/Dean; NC17) [sequel to Beautiful]
Dean sees understanding hit and then Sam is moving, surging up off the bed toward him. Dean tenses, turns his head. They've already broken everything to pieces so there's no need to be careful; maybe if he lets Sam take a swing at him --
Hands cupping his face and Sam's mouth is harder than it was in the club; messy and raw and for just a second the weirdest thing about this is having to tilt his head up to be kissed.
