I’ve been off LJ since Monday. I got to skip 980 and it wouldn’t let me go back any further. I mean, I knew that would happen, but when I saw that it was 1/23, I’d hoped I might get all of the backlog read. *sigh* It was not to be. Took me all day, and that was only accomplished by leaving out most of the comms, especially ALL of the SGA comms, because I knew I wouldn’t have time to read all the fic posted in the comms. So now I’m going to have to keep up and check out the comms. I’ll be catching up for the next week, lol.
My punishment for not reading LJ for nearly a week? I missed the Brokeback Mountain cast on Oprah. *sniffle*
"I still find it personally disappointing that people kind of go out of their way to voice their disgust or their opinions against the ways in which two people choose to love one another," Heath says. "I think that's really unfortunate." (FYI, this is not a complete transcript.)

Brokeback Mountain Fic Recs:
The Best He Can Do (Ennis post-movie/book; PG) "Just wait here," Ennis says softly. He runs a hand through his greying hair. "I know you hate waitin but you always did anyway. You just wait here and I'll be back. Don't know when, but I'll be back." He swallows. "I'll find you." and Her Daddy Was (Alma, Jr. pov post-movie/book; PG; character death) Junior isn’t stupid, she knows it’s more than sex when you’ve got someone’s shirt stuck up to your wall with a postcard of the place you met at next to it. That’s love and she shivers, because that’s one of those loves that’s too big, that don’t go cold, and a love like that you can’t carry around where everyone can see. There ain’t no sex good enough to be worth all the trouble of hiding something like that for so long if there’s no love involved. by
moony
Morning by
moshesque (Jack/Ennis; R) It wasn't the same, standing there, like the negative of an old, happier photograph. There would be no tomorrow filled with riding over the mountain, setting up camp then wrecking it with the roll of their bodies and the kick of their legs. Tomorrow, Ennis would be back to work; tomorrow, Jack would be hundreds of miles away. Again.
Reminisce by
cryptictac (Ennis, Ennis/Jack; PG) Ennis couldn’t help thinking he’d had all those damn times to say something to Jack and he’d never said a damn word. Never said nothing about what Jack meant to him. Never said nothing. He found himself wondering how different life could a been if he’d found the strength to say anything at all.
Watching by
neuontz (Jack/Ennis; R) Ennis's little patch of fire in the night began to blaze somewhere inside Jack's ribs, a soft, quickening place surrounded by cold bone of years without. His daddy was a drunk and needed the bottle, and Jack knew now he was like that with Ennis, though he told himself all he needed was to watch him, but like his Daddy at the sip of a beer, it wasn't enough, was getting out of hand, this needing and not getting.
And even though I don’t read in this fandom, I had to read this one, because, well,
audrarose!! Nuff said, right?
Supernatural Fic Rec: Beautiful by
audrarose (Sam/Dean; NC17; vampires & incest, oh my!) "No, you need to leave. Now." Supposed to be firm, but it comes out pleading and Dean looks up with kohl-circled eyes and Sam is lost. He's shaking now with fear and worry and something else, something buried deep and secret that makes him want what they want.
