As unfortunate as it is, every community needs a set of ground rules. This community is no different. This is just to ensure that everyone's experience is enjoyable and fruitful. And to keep my stress level down.
Please read the rules below carefully. When complete, please leave a comment indicating you have read and understood the rules. You will
not be permitted to post to the community until you have commented here.
#1.
phoeneko's word is law. Feel free to message me concerns, questions, suggestions, etc. However, please understand that the bottom line is that I make the decisions. If you don't like it, don't put up with it. Its harsh, I know, but unfortunately, it has to be said.
#2 RESPECTThat is the name of the game, folks. Trolls and Flames will not be tolerated here. Trolls will be removed and banned immediately after I have seen their posts and they will be reported to the LJ Abuse Team, as I have no patience for them. Nor do I have any patience for Flames. Flames are considered to be unnecessary, excessive and especially cruel ragging on a community member or their work(s). If you flame someone, you will be immediately removed and banned from the community. Consider this to be your only warning. If you don't like someone or what they've written, that's your problem. Feel free to take out whatever frustration or anger they've caused you on your personal journal, I don't care. Just don't do it here.
#3. This is not your personal journal. Please do not post anything that does not have to do with writing. If you've had a bad day and you really need to write about it, I'd love to see it in the form of a poem or a story not in a diatribe of endless rants. If you need to rant, there are plenty of gripe communities out there.
fuckyoulist is a personal favorite. Also, do
not advertise your community or anyone else's community here. If you'd like to have your community affiliated with Scribir, please leave a comment to the Affiliation Request post. Advertising posts will be deleted immediately without warning. The community member making the add post will be issued 1 warning via personal message. The community member will be removed from the community after his second offense.
#4. LJ Cuts are your friends! As stated on the User Info Page, longer works need to be placed behind an LJ cut. Images associated with Freewrite should also be behind an LJ Cut How to make an LJ Cut can be found
here. If you are looking for specific feedback, please indicate what it is you are looking for at the beginning of your post outside your LJ Cut.
#5. Adult Content Ahead!I do expect there to be a certain level of adult content/language in people's entries. I expect people to be mature enough to handle such things. If you do have explicit content in your work, post it behind an LJ Cut (see rule #4 to find out how). You will be asked to place anything deemed Not Safe For Work behind an LJ cut. Please indicate in the cut text "NSFW". If you aren't sure if something is NSFW or not, put it behind a cut. On the other hand, I do not want smut for the sake of smut. If you have erotica to share, please join
sexstories. I am not checking everyone's ID here, so please be responsible enough to know if you can handle characters saying "Fuck" or "Shit". If you aren't, this community may not be for you.
#6. Take Responsibility For Your WorkJust because you are comfortable sharing your writing with a community of people does not necessarily mean you want to share it with the entire internet world at large. Be mindful that posts are generally public, and if you are not comfortable with just anyone reading your heart's work, please feel free to use the Friends Only option.
#7. Use The Tags! All work should be tagged with the author's username
at least. On-going or unfinished work that members plan to continue at a later date should also be tagged with the title or working title of the piece.
#8. Point of Reference--The CaptionWorkshop pieces, on-going/unfinished pieces and fandom-based works all need to have a caption. A caption will appear at the top of the post as follows:
TitleAuthor (you)
Fandom (if a fandom piece--please indicate which characters are original to you, if applicable)
Past Chapters (if an on-going/unfinished piece--please include links to previous chapters/sections posted)
Workshop (if a piece put up for workshop--if you are looking for specific feedback, please indicate what help is needed)
