fancake's theme for June is Just Like Canon! These fanworks are so close to canon even their progenitors can't tell the difference. This includes works that are strongly rooted in canon, feel like they could be new canon, or are even meant to be a replacement for canon, like virtual seasons or fanmade supercuts.
fancake's theme for May is Journey & Travel! This theme is for fanworks that focus on the journey/travel of it all. That could mean a work that focuses more on the journey than the destination, one where the travel destination is a big part of the work, or, as always, a secret third thing!

fancake's theme for November is magic! That's witches and wizards, but also magicians, but also curséd objects, mythical locations with magical properties, like the Fountain of Youth, and magical critters, like, I wanna say, unicorns? Though it probably depends on the unicorn.

fancake's theme for August is Trope Subversion & Inversion! This round is for fanworks that take common tropes (Woke Up Gay!) and subvert them by taking an unexpected approach or by inverting them entirely (Woke up Straight!). Basically it's any trope turned on its head. Much like this upside-down house. Most people, even small children, expect houses to have the flat part on the ground and the roofy part overhead. But ho ho ho, not this house.
