ROM problems
I'm trying to play the Sega Genesis "Blades of Vengeance" rom on my Mac. On every emulator I use it gets past the opening credits, the music starts playing and then resets. I downloaded the file from two different sources with no luck. Is it the ROM, the computer or the emulator? Could someone else give the file a try and see if you have the same problem? Thanks. - Derick |

I'm not strong at religion but I know what we must "Prey" to! Did anybody play this game? I know that nobody. There will be armageddon in the supermarkets... http://game-era.com/preview/id/10 |

Romhacking turns into a whirlpool. http://www.romhacking.org/ has become the Whirlpool @ http://donut.parodius.com/Hey, so what the hell, man? The Whirlpool is (at the moment) the internet's largest archive of game translation patches to English. It is owned by Spinner 8 and (wraith). Spinner 8 is the guy who thinks he's funny and writes most to all of the crap you see here. (wraith) is the guy who codes all the behind-the-scenes PHP and MySQL and whatever else things. Also there's various staffers who occasionally decide to do stuff. What are game translations? They involve making a ROM or disk image of a Japanese (or French, or Chinese, or etc.) game, and applying a patch to the image. In simplest terms, this patch will change various bytes in the image and turn it into a game that you can play in English. At the moment, the Whirlpool specializes in archiving translations of console games, and we also do the occasional news bit. Support for computer systems is lacking, but we're getting to it. We promise. |

Anyone out there willing to help me hack/crack/dump/whatever it's called a GBC and a SNES rom? Either both or one? I can translate the Japanese dialogue, I just can't edit the ROM, or even better yet, build a patch. Anyone want to help? ^^; I'm looking to hack/dump/whatever Hana Yori Dango: Another Love Story (GBC) and Angelique (SNES). Thanks! :) |

been a while so i figure i am going to post a mod'd music source to tingle the gamers ears: http://www.ocremix.org OverClocked ReMix is a non-profit site that accepts high-quality submissions of arranged or "ReMixed" videogame music from talented ReMixers the world over. These arrangements are more than just updated versions of the original tracks, but are reinterpretations, often in an entirely different musical genre than the source material. What sets OverClocked ReMix apart is the breadth of its content - any musical style, from techno to hillbilly, and any console or computer game soundtrack, from Shinobi to Diablo II, is fair game. |

If you post your links to Hacking and Translating ROMs sites i will post them in the User Info Section. I am attempting to compile the most extensive current Hacking and Translating ROMs resource on the Internet. Please help me by posting your favorites. |

Cheers to the new community
Have you heard any news about progress being made on the Sega CD emulator or even any news on the project to do the Sega CD games like MAME (one at a time) rather than just make program that simulates the dual processor of the Sega CD and can emulate all games? The MAME32 community is nearly dead on LJ. :-( I hope this one picks up. |
