(no subject)

I am super-excited about Merlin airing in the US. I mean, my RL friends aren't going to look at me like I'm crazy anymore, and if it's successful there are going to be awesome action figures and such. Not to mention we'll probably have, like, a million people at meetups. But at the same time, the fandom's going to change a lot. :( I mean, we think we have growing pains now? I just hope it's the good sort of growth and not "for the love of Merlin please learn to use the lj cut" growth.

That is, of course, assuming that Merlin is going to be insanely popular once it broadcasts. (Which is a natural assumption, right? right?) At the very least, we're going to have more awesome fanfic, which is always great.

PSA to my brain: PLZ TO BE ALWAYS DREAMING ABOUT MERLIN. KTHNX.

Okay, I have reached a new level of ~~sadness~~awesomeness. Not only have I dreamed about the show Merlin (see: I am the slash dragon), I have now dreamed about specific Merlin fic.

It was

skellerbvvt's Citrus (warning! slave AU, dub-con, future OT4), which isn't all that surprising because it is an awesome fic with Merlin-universe bending ideas. As soon as part 2/2 is up I will be posting a rec. :) (Let's just say this fandom needs more kink!fic.)

(no subject)

I really want to read modern!AU with Merlin as a bookstore owner. Wouldn't that be awesome? Merlin would be curled up enjoying a good book, and then Arthur would come barging in looking for a textbook and get frustrated by Merlin's eclectic collection of books or something. It would be cute. ~~And now I have the urge to watch Black Books.~~

ANYWAY, I may have written the first few paragraphs of a Psych scifi AU. Bad brain, finish other fic first! Like, say, the one started in December. Speaking of which, epic!fic has come to a complete standstill because I started writing it before I gave Morgana's character a lot of thought, and now that I've gone all meta on her, she acts completely differently. THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR TRYING TO STAY IN CHARACTER. :P And it wasn't even supposed to be about Morgana in the first place. ARGH.

GUYS GUYS GUYS!!!!!!! New username!

Obviously, when I first signed up for LJ,

rainchild was taken or I would have gone with that. Instead I got rainchild_ai. The "ai" part was sort of random and just because I absolutely refused to have a number after my name. It's Japanese for "love," but I cannot tell you how many times I've been asked if I'm a huge A.I. fan. (I've never seen it. I'm sure it's a great movie.) In December I noticed that

rainchild had been deleted. YAY!

I sent LJ cash in an envelope forever ago (yes, probably stupid), and I thought it had gotten lost or stolen, it had been so long. BUT NOW I HAVE A NEW USERNAME. AND TWO MONTHS OF PAID TIME. Look! *points to icon* I have other fandoms again! (Not that I've ever been in the Star Wars fandom, per se, I'm pretty sure it would eat my soul.)

4 Uther/Merlin recs

Someone (who shall remain anonymous) asked me for Uther/Merlin recs, so I put together a list. I threw in some Uther/Merlin/Arthur threesomes, too, because there's not very much Uther/Merlin out there. All are complete, or at least can stand by themselves. READ THE WARNINGS, there's a lot of DUB-CON and INCEST.

In conclusion, WRITE MORE UTHER/MERLIN, GUYS, IT'S AWESOME.

I have a new guilty pleasure (aside from Uther/Merlin, that is) - submitting icons in random challenges despite the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing and am not an icon maker by any stretch of the imagination. ANYWAY, I thought I'd collect all my entries here in the hopes that one day there'll be this really obvious line of improvement. (Obviously, I'll only be putting stuff up after the voting is done.)
