Hi all,
I'm new to this community (just joined). Recenttly I found myself with a bunch of free time because school is finally over, and I wanted to muck around with Photoshop and Image Ready. I was wondering if you had any tips. Like how to create a GIF file using Image Ready... I've been trying and I haven't been able to do it. I keep having problems with the layers. Anyways if you guys could offer any help, I would appreciate it very much. Here is my first icon :)

I'm realizing there's a need for a user friendly tutorial on how to set up a layout in your journal. I have dyslexia and I know that some times reading instructions and transforming the words into application can be pretty difficult. Taking screen shots and then adding instructions to the image seems the easiest way to make it simple for those that don't know HTML. If this proves to be helpful to you all, I may create other tutorials when the need arises.

Hi. I joined this community yesterday. I do not own Photoshop, so I can't use it when I make icons. I use Paint and Microsoft .gif Animator (because they're free). I made the icon I have now, I think it looks pretty good, but it's not...Photoshopped.

I'm making layout templates for a role playing game I'm in and thought maybe other people would like to use them as well. The box is where you'd put any photo you want for you layout and I'm willing to put the images together for you, but setting up your journal will have to be done by some one else. (There's not point in hotlinking cause these layouts are not finished.)
Oh and do check out my journal to see just what a finished layout looks like!

Recently made a switch to Linux so no more Photoshop/Paintshop. I made these with The Gimp and will continue to do so. Free to use as you wish.

ACK! Perfect community for me. I'm too cheap to shell out for Photoshop, not to mention that once I got it, I wouldn't know what half the functions were. It's much safer to work with MSPaint. Here are a few Harry Potter icons I recently made. Take but credit in keywords, or tinker with if you're better at text than me.
