Ebay [May. 2nd, 2006|10:43 am]

So lately I've been buying a lot of stuff off of ebay, and for the most part I've been using my sister's acount to buy stuff, but a month ago I created my own account and bought a nice pair of Diesel kicks.

BERJAYA

They took a while to get here, but I swear, it was just like Christmas. Opening letters or packages has to be one of the most exciting things (except when you know it's a bill!) One thing that I dislike about it is the shipping time it takes to get the item, but there has got to be some crazy ass deals on there. So that's my take on Ebay.

Head hurts [Apr. 30th, 2006|12:16 pm]

[Current Music |Del The Funky Homosapian - Mistadobalina]

Well exams are finally over, I've studied my ass off, finished my International Relations paper. 8 pages of awesomeness. So last night I decided to go out with a few buddies of mine. The night started off slowly at a bar with a few drinks. Which progressed into more drinks at my buddy Ro's house. Which turned into funneling beer, shortly followed by Shaun showing us what he had for lunch that day. My head is pulsating. It's like a speaker in my brain that's on loud and it's playing D&B. I'm gonna go back to sleep. It feels like a lazy day. Maybe go and play some football later...who knows. School is done and over with and summer has officialy started for me, I've got no cares or responsibilities at the moment so I'm going to enjoy it.

Max Weber [Apr. 26th, 2006|06:22 pm]

[Current Mood |busy]

I'm still not happy with this, but it's all I have so far. Yay for Sociology. =/

A contemporary of Durkheim, Max Weber profoundly changed the approach to sociology. His views provided a new way of looking at a relatively new science. Previously, sociologists studied society in terms of its economy and its economic institutions (Marx), as well as its moral codes and its belief systems (Durkheim). Weber changed all of this by suggesting that the best way to study society is to study the things that make up that society, people. To do this, he said, the actions of the people must be interpreted and not just described, because ideas as well as values can change a society, and not the other way around.

Oh and if I finish soon, I can go to the Jays game tonight. Not that I'm a big fan of baseball since it is the world's most boring sport, but beer + friends + Ryerson girls = fun.

1st Entry (Public) [Apr. 25th, 2006|01:53 am]

[Current Mood |contemplativecontemplative]

Well this is my first public entry. I'm just about to go to bed because I have a Philosophy exam to get through. An entire day of studying and I have this feeling of dread. What's funny though is that something as simple as a test or exam could have someone feeling scared. I mean it's not as if I'm going to die, right? Except that it is.

I think there is way too much emphasis that's placed on testing, indeed school in general. There's this preconcieved notion that says that if you don't graduate from University or College that your entire life will be wasted. That we will end up to be complete losers with no hope of achieving anything. This can't be the reality though, because there is in fact many people without post secondary education leading perfectly normal, perfectly respectable jobs. So why is there all this pressure to become doctors, lawyers, economists? And why will your life end if you don't graduate? It's simple, it's society. Society is teaching us that blue collar jobs are in some way more demeaning than being corporate whores. This is not to say that you shouldn't strive to be the best that you can be, because you should, and we need more doctors (especially in Canada), but for fucks sake think things through for a minute, your life will not end if you don't recieve a piece of paper with your name on it which states that you passed a few tests and you learned a few more things. It could always be the beginning of something different.

Ugh, I have so much more to say, but I have to get some rest for my exam, where it will be determined whether or not I'm a human being or not. I hate school.

A little break from studying [Apr. 24th, 2006|06:45 pm]
Miroslav
Well i'm giving myself a small break from studying. I've been listening to The Strokes a lot lately. Especially today while studying. They're just absolutely awesome. Their new CD First Impressions of Earth is pretty awesome and I can't stop listening to it because some of the songs are just that damn good.

Yes, I know it sounds like this is a plug for The Strokes, but rest assured it most definitely is not! In fact, I don't suggest anyone buy any CDs, but piracy is a seperate issue, this is just concerning The Strokes.

So I will list my favourite songs from their newest album.

1) Ize of the World
2) Razorblade
3) Juicebox
4) Vision of Division
5) Electricityscape
6) Ask Me Anything
7) Fear of Sleep
8) Heart in a Cage
9) 15 Minutes
10) Killing Lies
11) Evening Sun
12) On the Other Side
13) You Only Live Once
14) Red Light

Well, look at that, those are all the songs on their CD... That means that the entire CD is fantastic. I only have 2 other CDs that I love all of the songs on and that's Ready to Die by Biggie and Chronic 2001 by Dr. Dre. Everyone knows that those two albums were amazing, so if my instinct is right First Impressions of Earth is gonna be GODLY.

These are the lyrics from Ize of the World

I think I know what you mean but watch what you say
'cause they'll be trying to knock you down in some way.
Sometimes it feels like the world is falling asleep.
How do you wake someone up from inside a dream?

Your mind would wander and search
For its place in the night.
Your body followed this feeling like following light.
Once that your music was born it followed you 'round
and then it gave your activities meaning
and let you be loud.

You're sad but you smile.
It's not in your eyes. Your eyeballs don't change.
It's the muscles around your eyes.

An egg to fertilize,
A pulse to stabilize,
A body to deodorize,
A life to scrutinize,
A child to criticize,
Young adults to modernize,
Citizens to terrorize,
Generations to desensitize.

Your dreams are sweet and obsessed
and you're overworked.
You're overtaken by visions of being overlooked.
How disappointed would D.(ead) I.(dealistic) D.(esperate)
I.(nventor) P.(ioneer) P.(hilosophers) be
to see such power in our hands all wasted on greed?
I am a prisoner to instincts or do my thoughts just live
as free and detached as boats to the dock?
Just like when music was born
and detached from your heart.
Is your free time to free minds or for falling apart?

Night after night you turn out the light.
You don't fall asleep right away.
"Are we...are we done?"
A desk to organize,
A product to advertise,
A market to monopolize,
Movie stars to idolize,
Leaders to scandalize,
Enemies to neutralize,
No time to apologize,
Fury to tranquilize,
Weapons to synchronize,
Cities to vaporize.

P.S. LiveJournal is hard to work with and is giving me a headache. Back to something less stressful...Nietzsche!
