[Owl to Albus Dumbledore] [21 Jan 2004|03:48pm]

Headmaster, as a reply to your previous questioning,

I was pondering upon the uses of the grounds for teaching my grade 5, 6 and 7, students that day. The classroom, due to its size, might prove to be a bit insufficient for the project I have in mind. It should be quite entertaining an enriching experience. Shall I pass by your office this evening so I can further explain?

Well I can't see why that should be at issue. Whatever for, I do wonder?

Headmaster,

I would be interested in booking the school’s yard green area for the whole of Friday, during classes. Do you think that is possible? I eagerly await for your reply.

Thank you for taking notice of this,

Bill,

That's a fair point, isn't it. Well then, tell them to carry on, only next time, when dressing Severus in a gown, be sure it is a flattering colour.

Thank you Headmaster,

Things are going alright for my part. I still have to get used to the bizarre feeling of returning to my old school -in a teaching position most of all!- but it is rather endearing. Fred and George? But Profess- Albus, you must admit their pranks are quite harmless and that a skilled adult wizard such as Professor Snape should have no trouble breaking simple charms. Perhaps the students and staff altogether need a bit of laughter, for all are seemingly grim and the air is heavy with both suspicion and worry. If the Grey Lady turned pink, Quidditch turned into a muggle sport, or the twins stopped being easy going, do you not think quite a few pairs of eyebrows will shot up and cause more confusion in these already unnatural times?

With all respect due.

I am of the belief that one must always be one step ahead of the foe. Unfortunately, that is not always possible, but in this case we will attempt to make it so.

Remus - I have arranged for work for you at "Tobias' Tomes (And Other Things)" as I seem to recall your being fond of books. It is, I believe, located near Honeydukes. Which, as I also recall, should be quite the advantage. You may begin at your earliest convenience.

Sirius - Do not complain about your pseudonym. "Tristram Blagden." I repeat, do not complain. I could have called you Gillywood Duckbill, after all. I would meet with you to administer the cosmetic charms; in the meantime, it would be best if you arrived in disguise. I trust you understand my meaning. We will discuss further arrangements upon your arrival, since for obvious reasons I could not arrange much for you til these steps have been taken.

As the two of you will be staying in Hogsmeade rather than Hogwarts, I have also arranged for a home you may share.

Bill - I trust you are settling well? ...and this has little to do with your position, but really, do try and calm down your brothers. The twins. Severus recently found himself enchanted into wearing a gown. My suspicions, I think, ought to be clear.

Owl to Remus Lupin and Sirius Black [13 Jan 2004|08:19pm]

Old friends,
It seems there is darkness creeping once again. As you may be aware, the Professor of Defence Against The Dark Arts recently passed away. What I have not told the students, for fear of a panic, is that she was murdered and halfblood. Slain, it seems, by the killing curse... and rather close to Hogwarts grounds, in Hogsmeade. Furthermore, the dark mark was reported seen by three passing wizards; no doubt many more also saw it, but choose to pretend it is meaningless.

It is possible that it is. It is possible that it is, once more, a rogue former Death Eater such as Barty Crouch Jr. Possible, but unlikely.

Therefore we must take steps to ensure the safety both of the students and the general area. As the two of you know Hogwarts rather well (do not think I have forgotten your childhood antics; charming the Slytherin table to stick on the wall was a most amusing trick) I am issuing you an assignment: come to this area. I will arrange for a pseudonym for Sirius, and work for you, Remus. And Remus, do be sure Sirius cleans himself up properly; we cannot have him reported for looking like a criminal. I will provide minor cosmetic charms, but the less attention drawn to him, the better. While here, protect the students. Be certain that your eyes are open for any suspicious activity.

These are dark times. I only hope we may keep the children free from the knowledge of how very, very dark they are.

I am sending this via owl rather than through the Mystinet for the purposes of security, of course.

Respond as soon as possible,
-Albus Dumbledore

As all who attend Hogwarts know, we have, this year, been fortunate enough to have former auror, Hecate Hadely as our Professor of Defence Against The Dark Arts. It is now my sad duty to inform you that Professor Hadely has passed away. We are unsure of the circumstances of her most untimely death, but no doubt more information will be available soon.

I would advise you all, students of Hogwarts and staff alike, to take these times most seriously, indeed.

Please direct any questions to me. I am currently arranging for her replacement.

Urgent News!

BERJAYA

Six former Death Eaters escaped from Azkaban Prison last night, during a battle between unidentified wizards and the dementors stationed there. It is unknown whether the invading wizards were assisting the breakout, or the escapees simply used the battle as an opportunity to flee.

Minister Fudge has released the following statement: "Rookwood, Mulciber, Dolohov, and the three LeStranges are not at large, and considered deadly. Do not approach them! We are searching, absolutely, do not fret in the slightest. And this has nothing whatsoever to do with You-Know-Who! Just a minor stumbling block, do not worry at all."

Well...I'm not quite sure what to write back to you, Ron. I'm completely flattered, of course. Very flattered, actually.

And I do suppose that this will change things, however...especially since...

Well, it seems that I fancy you as well.

Private, Private, Private owl to Hermione, delivered by the twitchy Pig [07 Jan 2004|07:40pm]

Right, first let me suggest something. Pet Pig behind the right ear tuft of feathers, and coo, it should calm him down a bit.

Second, let me explain how awfully bloody embarassing this is to even be writing and.. I think I'll have to bury my face in snow after this..

I've been thinking about you for a long time now, Hermione. I get a twitchy feeling in my stomache speaking to you. And it wasn't always this way, was it? I feel weak kneed, and even like I could die of the tiniest failing around you.

I've even been having alot of really odd dreams at night from time to time. Almost all of them have you in them, and they're really not the sort of thing I could even mention to Harry.

And long story short, because Pig is ready to deliver and not ready to wait..

I sort of ermm.. Fancy you, Hermione.

Right, write me back? Or just, you know, don't let this change anything?

And welcome back to all students who had been away for the holidays. I hope you had a fulfilling and restful vacation, as did all of us who stayed here (or at least I did) and that you are prepared to return to classes with a skip in your step. A chocolate frog for each of you has been left beneath your pillow, so please do not sleep on it or crush it, the poor thing.

Mysterious Disappearence Solved

BERJAYA

Marcus Morris, the muggleborn Leicester wizard whose disappearence set the Wizarding World into a flurry of speculations in mid-December, was found last night, dead. His body was recovered in a back alley near his story, "Marcus' Miscellaneous." The alley had been searched many times in the past, lending credence to the theory that he had been murdered.

According to Ministry Spokesman Darius Bellgrove, Morris was no more than a few hours dead. "Clearly we must suspect foul play," said Bellgrove, "It's not likely that Morris vanished himself and then spontaneously died in an alley!" However, despite this, there are currently no suspects in Morris' disappearence and death. Bellgrove went on to say that the Ministry is "absolutely positive that this has nothing whatsoever to do with that twoddle about Lord Thingy."

Professor Ardelle, who as you surely know (if you've been doing your reading, hm?) has worked as Professor of Muggle Studies for well over thirty years, has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons. I do not have immediate information on how long Professor Ardelle will be gone.

In her absence, we are joined by Professor Alissia Demiais. So, when you return from the Holidays, please do not be startled by your new professor. She is quite friendly and will not bite. I assure you.

Dolores Umbridge has proposed a change in the Ministry of Magic's classification of werewolves and vampires from beings to beasts. When questioned as to why this change is necessary, Miss Umbridge said, "I believe that any 'being' likely to eat you up is clearly not a being at all. Do we want these creatures living alongside us? Interacting with our children? ... I should say not!"

Leicester Wizard Gone Missing!

BERJAYA

Leicester was stunned today by the disappearence of Marcus Morris, the local muggleborn wizard that operated the local general wizardry supply shop, "Marcus' Miscellaneous." According to eyewitness reports, he locked up as usual the previous night, but failed to reopen come morning, thus arousing suspicions and spurring a search which turned up nothing.

Delilah Morris, Marcus' sister with whom he shared residence, claims he did not reach home. "I started to worry because Marcus is always home by midnight; he doesn't like being out late, especially with all the recent whisperings. But I thought he may have gone to visit his fiance."

Morris' fiance, pureblood witch Thia Thistletoe, was unavailable for comment.

It is not believed that this disappearence has any connection to the spurious claims of Harry Potter that You-Know-Who has returned.
