The perennial Bachelor's Buttons are flowering - both the blue~

And the white ones~

We had to look this one up.  It's Bush Honeysuckle and no, it doesn't smell fragrant at all~

This is Choke Cherry~

We discovered Vetch in front of these peep's house.  

The Wild Geraniums are blooming everywhere!

We found Wisteria in bloom!

The Stolen Ball

Mom did laundry yesterday and as she was shaking out her pants, a wool dryer ball hit the floor.    I pounced on it immediately!    Mom never thought that I would like it as much as I do as it doesn't squeak.

I was afraid to leave my new ball alone for fear mom would take it away from me~

But she didn't.   She let me keep it as long as I don't chew it or tear it apart and I haven't so far~

Tasty Tuesday

 Mom made Berry Cobbler and I got to TasteTest!

3 cups of berries ( blueberries, raspberries and blackberries), 1\4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon lemon or orange peel.

Topping:

3/4 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 cup milk, 1/8 cup sugar,  1/4 cup shortening, pinch of cinnamon and mace.

Combine the berries, sugar and zest in a bowl.      Just before adding the biscuit topping, dot with several pats of butter.  Bake 375 degrees for 30 minutes.  

Out of the oven~

Delicious!

Nature Friday

 We are joining Rosy today for Nature Friday~~

These spring photos are from a couple of weeks earlier but mom doesn't care as she loves flowers and we know that you do too.

As we are leaving our driveway, the tulips were blooming~

The plum tree was in bloom~

Mom loves the redbud tree and we found a couple of them flowering~

Miss Dotty's phlox was blooming - both the pink and the purple~

Miss Dotty's tulips were blooming too~

Back at home, our viburnum was in bloom and the scent was so intoxicating!

Wicked Wednesday

 Mom has tried to teach me to be good to my toys and take care of them and I will have them for years but the rules don't seem to apply to this one~

She tells me to chomp down harder on his neck~

She tells me to bite his arm off and to make him squeal!

He used to have a squeaker and I've already killed that!   Does anyone else want to have a go at him?!

Mother's Day Adventure

 Missy and mom decided they wanted to walk on the Farmington Canal Trail for Mother's Day and it would be my first time walking any place other than my neighborhood streets.   Saturday, mom decided that she didn't want me to wear my head collar so we tried on harnesses that are hanging in the closet just waiting for me.  She finally decided on one that she thought might work knowing that we would see people and dogs and lots of bicycles and that I would be better behaved with activity that I'm not used to.  

I got to ride in the front with the girls!

I wagged my tail at nice people and I saw several dogs and I got to touch noses with one of them!  Most of what we saw were peeps on bicycles that kept shouting, "On your left"!   There were pretty flowers and lots of birds and even a squirrel that taunted me!   
  

It was 11am and getting warm and there was nice sparkling water and mom thought that maybe I might want a drink~

I didn't want a drink but Missy was hoping that I would pull mom into the brook and her cell phone was ready and waiting☺  

We had a great time and both mom and Missy decided that we really should do this more often plus we walked three miles!

 It was the most perfect Mother's Day!
