Title: The Best Aerial Steam Team in the DMLE



Summary: Draco Malfoy is one-half of the best damned Aerial Steam Team in Wizarding Britain, and he's exceedingly proud of it. It doesn't hurt that his partner is adorable delectable not nearly as displeasing as previously presumed, even if Potter doesn't always support Draco's fashion choices. Really, how can Draco not want to transfigure his standard-issue Ministry uniform (boring!) into something more posh. He's still the best at his job. He even invented wings!

Summary: On a wintery night, Harry and Draco look up at the stars from the hill overlooking their home. Of course, Draco is pointing out the constellation Draco.

I was a mod for hd_fanart's Harry/Draco Art Fest again this year, so I did one piece of art for that.

Title: Naiad

Summary: Deep in an enchanted forest, Harry finds a magical pool inhabited by a beautiful naiad. In mythology, all naiads, or water nymphs, divine nature spirits, are female. Of course, Draco must be the exception. ;-)
Rating: PG-13 for a little nudity, so also NSFW

This has been an intensely busy year for me, mostly with home renovation and family health issues. My grandmother died in November at 100 years old. I've posted about that and the past year here on my other journal.

Summary: Unspeakable Malfoy and Head Auror Potter have been lovers, living together for almost three years, when a dangerous, top secret mission takes Malfoy suddenly out of the country. Until now, to avoid publicity and potential scandal, they've kept their relationship quiet. It's known only to their closest friends, and they rarely appear together in public. But if Draco survives this mission, Harry won't care who sees them together.

Happy Holidays!!! Blessings and best wishes to everyone for 2015!

In February of 2002, I started writing a Harry/Draco story titled, Checkmate. Then I discovered digital art and H/D fests. :D And now, many, many fics and artworks later, it's the end of 2013 and time for me to move on to other work, including original writing and art. It's been a wonderful, life-changing experience to be involved with fandom, and I have learned and laughed and loved so much with all the friends I've made here. So it is with mixed sadness and excitement that I am retiring this journal. All my previous WIPs are finished; my fandom work this year is the last I intend to do. I still love H/D and HP so I'm sure I'll still be checking my flist on occasion here, and I'll still be a mod for a few comms. And for the foreseeable future, I don't intend to take my work down or delete this journal.

I also now have all my HP and H/D work up on AO3 HERE.

If anyone is interested in following my future work, you are more than welcome to check out dmmccabe and friend me there. That is where I'll be posting all my new work from now on. :)

This year has been very busy with school, but I managed to squeek out a few things here at the end of the year. :D I actually put off doing any original work this year, just because of how busy I was with school, and ended up keeping my creative self happy by accidently finding fest prompts I could NOT resist. lol I do still plan to finish the last two or three of my HP fanart works that are still unfinished, including Your Heart's Desire and The Gory, Spoilery Alphabetic Guide to HP & HBP, which I didn't manage to get to this year. I blame that on those evil irresistable aforementioned prompts. :P

Wishing everyone a blessed, prosperous and joyful 2012!

This year has been full of interesting changes in my life. At the end of August, I left my job and am now back in school. In November, when I had two papers due and final exams just around the corner, I had a real what on earth was I thinking! moment. lol January is going to be particularly busy since I'll have three classes this winter quarter. If I keep on with this, which is by no means certain, I'll graduate in June 2013. :P

When I'm not studying, I plan to finish the last two of my HP fanart works that are still unfinished - Your Heart's Desire and The Gory, Spoilery Alphabetic Guide to HP & HBP.

Wow - another year has come and gone! It seems like this one went by way too fast. My job is still crazy, and will be it seems for a couple more weeks until I can get caught up with things. I am excited for the new year, though, and have lots I hope to accomplish. :)

*grin* It seems this year was the year of looooong projects! I did two or three projects this year that took me over 2 months each to complete. :P But the work I did this year made me realize how much I LOVE telling stories with my art, and especially animated art. I have always thought of myself as a writer who was learning to be an artist. (And in fact I started out in H/D fandom as a writer - some of you have even had me friended long enough to remember that! *grin*) But I was a beginning-to-be-published writer when I took my first drawing class at the local college of art to see if I could learn to illustrate my writing. That was my dream. But then I got sucked into academia and a career in education and had pretty much abandoned that dream, until I found myself writing Checkmate for my daughter in 2002. And that led me here, and back to doing what I love most, as this year, more than ever, I've found myself combining writing and art in ways I'd always hoped to do.

Wow - I can't believe we're already a month gone into 2010! 2009 was bit of a rough year for me health-wise. I mostly did larger projects this year that took time to do - some of them over a month, which meant that I also ended up with some things that I started but couldn't finish. I have several original projects in the development stage right now, but I hope to sneak in some new fanart here and there during 2010. Maybe I'll have a chance to finish those left-over projects, too. Two that I most definitely intend to finish are the HBP Alphabet (only 4 more letters to go!) and Your Heart's Desire (Part 2 and possibly an Epilogue). :)

I wasn't always able to reply to everything, and I regret that, but those comments were loved and very much appreciated all the more for coming at times when I was ill and needed cheering up. This has been a rather rough year for me RL-wise, with both personal and family difficulties and a new job. I took on several large fanart projects this year that took a month, or more to do, as well as doing interior illustrations and art for the cover of Ripple Effect (links below). All of that meant that I didn't do as many things this year as in past years, and didn't get a few things done that I'd hoped to finish this year. So I have several fanart things that I intend to finish in 2009. I'm not going to say that those will absolutely be the last fanart pieces I'll ever do, because I have loved being involved in the HP and H/D fandoms, but my intention is that after those specific projects are finished I will be concentrating on original work. More on that later. :)
