I recently started watching the Marchen Awakens Romance anime (the anime has a different title from the manga and is called MaR Heaven), and I'm COMPLETELY in love with it. Having been a pretty big fan of the mangaka's previous work, Flame of Recca (although my enthusiasm for it now has waned a little), I had tried the first volume of the MaR manga earlier, but hadn't found it interesting enough to continue reading. But when I heard an anime version was coming out, I decided to give the series a second chance, and boy am I ever glad I did. :)
I guess from now on I should realise that most shounen series take about the first 2-3 volumes to get really interesting, and that I shouldn't give up after the first volume. ^_^ (Though think of what a potential money-waster that can be - what if, after buying at least 3 volumes, I really don't like the series? Then I would have wasted money buying two more volumes than I would normally have when trying out a new series. :p Oh well, I guess since I read proportionally less shounen manga than shoujo manga anyway, it won't be THAT much of a problem. :p
Anyway, the following's just a few disjointed comments/thoughts I had when I was watching the MaR anime (have currently watched up to episode 12). Everything was written out as I watched the episodes, so the opinions that I may have for a previous episode may completely change by the time I've watched the later episodes. :) In any case, I just thought it'll be interesting to show how my thoughts of the stuff that happens in the anime evolves over time. :p Also, the comments for episodes 1-4 are grouped together, since it was only around the 5th episode that I decided that I seriously liked this series enough to want to do individual comments on the episodes.
Note, however, that my comments may contain spoilers for the respective episodes. Also, despite the spoilers, they're not going to be very descriptive in the sense that I generally don't write out the stuff that happens in the episode, but rather am just putting down my opinions of the moment. So it might not actually make much sense to those who haven't watched the anime yet. :P
Of course, being the complete geek that I am, I then proceeded to buy volumes 2-6 of the manga. (Since I already have volume 1). Will blog about the manga when I've got the rest of the volumes and have finished reading everything.
I SO need to make a site to this series. XD (Though I think I seriously need to revamp my FoR site first. :p)
Yay glad to find that there's someone else who loves On-lead's music as well! They definitely do make a difference to a drama cd - I find most of my favourite drama cds happen to be ones where…
Let me tell you... the magic weapon is actually a GLUE GUN! I think about 80% of my costume was glue gunned on... the only things I really sewed were the zippers on the trousers (hand-sewn) and some…
Actually I used to think so too which is why I never had the guts to try cosplay before! But because I really love Junior so much, it's always been one of my fangirl dreams to cosplay as him. LOL.…
