About the Girl: Rebecca Raven LeBeau is a child of Marvel's multiverse. She calls Earth-41001 home, and she is born after the events of "X-Men the End". She is the second child of Rogue and Remy LeBeau (Gambit). In this timeline, Rogue gained full control over her powers and was able to have two children. Becka, and her older brother, Olivier. When she was a child, she and the Frost-Summers children were kidnapped by Mr. Sinister. During the rescue attempt, her mother was killed. Oli witnessed Rogue's death, but what made it worse was that Mr. Sinister had changed into Gambit's shape to kill Rogue. Oli could never get over seeing his "father" kill his mother, and he refused to stay with Gambit after all was said and done. Oli was raised by Scott Summers and Emma Frost at Xavier's. Becka, on the other hand, was raised by Gambit. She was the princess of the thieves' guild, and she was very good at what she did. A mutant as well, she's damn badass. Her personality has been shown to be rebellious and devil-may-care, though she remains the only connected between Oli and Gambit. For most of her run, she's had very little interest in joining the team of X-Men that her brother leads (GeNEXT), though she did eventually join. I tend to ignore that development, even if it gives her more screen time, because I prefer her previous claims to prefer independence.
Regardless, she's a tough cookie. She's a strong, independent, and if more than a little cocky kid who's been through a lot. I have a lot of headcanon tied up with her (I've RP'd as her for years), but at the core she's pretty simple. She's tough as nails, cocky, has a fun sense of humor, and she really doesn't care what you think about her. She's been accused of being a little too much of a bruiser, but she gets that from her mother, and that's all she really got from Rogue, so who can blame her?
About the Mix: When I first started this mix, it was something completely different. I was trying to coax vulnerability out of the character, trying to paint her in something that she's not. She's tough, she's fun, she's badass. She has her vulnerabilities, but she's also young enough to show that with angry lyrics, yelling, and a general devil-may-care attitude. She's not going to break down crying on you because that's not who she is.
I tried to split this mix pretty evenly between songs "about the girl" (the first half) and songs "about the family" (the second half). All of the songs are rock, most of them are a little vulgar in language, and most of them don't give a shit. Still, they paint the picture fairly well, I hope.
