We are a unique group of people (some close friends, some precious acquaintances), spanning states, continents, and the same small towns. We take pride in our odd habits, confusing conversations, and countless inside jokes. Memories bind us together, and a youthful outlook of the future keeps up going.
Mellyn Nîn was chosen as the name of our community. It is literally translated as "My Friends" from J.R.R. Tolkien's elvish language, Sindarin.
The members of Mellyn Nîn are free to post anything and everything, discussing all or nothing, and wasting time is strongly encouraged. Participation aside, this community is also a collective of sorts, directing members and observers to each other's personal journals. And hell, sometimes it's just fun to be part of something.
A few of the people who helped inspire this community do not even own LiveJournals. The simple fact that this community exists, even if it is not used or all do not participate, says to the world that its members (and honorary members) came, saw, and conquered (or died trying).
