Hej! W planach miałam zupełnie inny wpis, który nadal czeka w przygotowaniu, ale w międzyczasie znowu sporo się wydarzyło, więc przychodzę do Was z małym updatem.

Ostatnio czas przeciekał mi przez palce. Do zeszłego miesiąca dzieliłam go między pracę na uniwersytecie a zajęcia w szkole językowej. Jednym z moich aktualnych powodów do radości w obszarze zawodowym jest stworzenie autorskiego kursu w szkole językowej, w której pracuję. Będzie to wakacyjny kurs konwersacyjny po hiszpańsku poświęcony kulturze Ameryki Łacińskiej. Poruszymy takie tematy jak yerba mate, Inca Kola, przestępczość narkotykowa, literatura boomu i postboomu latynoamerykańskiego, kult świętych oraz wiele innych zagadnień. Oczywiście, oprócz mojego autorskiego kursu, będę prowadzić również inne kursy, ale właśnie z tego projektu jestem szczególnie dumna.

Drugą rzeczą, która zajmuje mi obecnie sporo czasu, jest organizacja ślubu. Wielki dzień jest już tuż-tuż, więc dopinamy ostatnie szczegóły i załatwiamy końcowe formalności.

Trzecim punktem są wyjazdy. W ciągu ostatniego miesiąca byłam na dwóch koncertach: Álvara Solera oraz Guns N’ Roses (po raz drugi w życiu). Oba występy były świetne i, co ciekawe, miały kilka wspólnych elementów. Zarówno Álvaro, jak i Axl emanowali niesamowitą energią na scenie. Álvaro nie tylko śpiewał, ale też dużo skakał, biegał, tańczył i wyszedł do tłumu, dzięki czemu miał bardzo bliski kontakt z publicznością. Do tego jego głos na żywo brzmi naprawdę pięknie, a cały zespół dodawał koncertowi uroku dzięki choreografiom i świetnej atmosferze.

Jeśli chodzi o drugi koncert Guns N’ Roses, były to kolejne trzy godziny doskonałej muzyki. Instrumenty brzmiały fantastycznie, a wokal wreszcie było dobrze słychać. Podczas poprzedniego koncertu na PGE Narodowym akustyka pozostawiała sporo do życzenia, tym razem jednak wszystko zagrało tak, jak powinno. Do tego świetna energia i wspaniała atmosfera sprawiły, że był to naprawdę udany wieczór.

ENGLISH: Hi! I had a completely different post planned, and it’s still waiting to be finished, but quite a lot has happened in the meantime, so I thought I’d stop by with a little update.

Lately, time was slipping through my fingers. Until last month, I divided my time between my work at the university and teaching at a language school. One of the things I’m most excited about right now is that I’ve created my own course for the language school where I work. It will be a summer Spanish conversation course focused on Latin American culture. We’ll be discussing topics such as yerba mate, Inca Kola, drug-related crime, the Latin American Boom and Post-Boom literary movements, the cult of saints, and many other fascinating subjects. Of course, I’ll also be teaching other courses, but this is the project I’m especially proud of.

The second thing taking up a lot of my time at the moment is wedding planning. The big day is just around the corner, so we’re currently taking care of all the final details and preparations.

The third topic is travelling. Over the past month, I’ve been to two concerts: Álvaro Soler and Guns N’ Roses (for the second time in my life). Both concerts were fantastic and, interestingly enough, they had a few things in common. Both Álvaro and Axl brought incredible energy to the stage. Álvaro didn’t just sing – he was constantly moving, jumping, running, dancing, and even made his way into the crowd, which created a very close connection with the audience. On top of that, his voice sounds beautiful live, and the whole band added even more charm to the performance with their dancing and stage presence.

As for the second Guns N’ Roses concert I’ve attended, it was another three hours of great music. The instruments sounded amazing, and the vocals were finally clear and easy to hear. During the previous concert I attended at PGE Narodowy, the acoustics left a lot to be desired, but this time everything sounded exactly as it should. Combined with the band’s energy and the fantastic atmosphere, it turned into a truly memorable evening.

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Tenía planeada una entrada completamente diferente, que todavía estoy preparando, pero mientras tanto han pasado muchas cosas, así que vengo a compartir una pequeña actualización.

Últimamente sentía que el tiempo se me escapaba entre los dedos. Antes repartía mi tiempo entre mi trabajo en la universidad y las clases en una escuela de idiomas, pero hace dos semanas terminé mis cursos universitarios. Una de las cosas que más ilusión me hace en este momento, en el ámbito laboral, es haber creado mi propio curso para la escuela de idiomas donde trabajo. Será un curso de conversación en español centrado en la cultura de América Latina. Hablaremos de temas como el mate, la Inca Kola, el narcotráfico, la literatura del Boom y del Posboom latinoamericano, el culto a los santos y muchos otros asuntos fascinantes. Por supuesto, además de este curso, también impartiré otros, pero este proyecto es del que me siento especialmente orgullosa.

La segunda cosa que ocupa gran parte de mi tiempo actualmente es la organización de la boda. El gran día está a la vuelta de la esquina, así que estamos ultimando todos los detalles y preparativos.

El tercer tema es el de los viajes. Durante el último mes he asistido a dos conciertos: el de Álvaro Soler y el de Guns N’ Roses (por segunda vez en mi vida). Ambos fueron fantásticos y, curiosamente, tuvieron varias cosas en común. Tanto Álvaro como Axl transmitieron una energía increíble sobre el escenario. Álvaro no solo cantaba todo el tiempo, sino que también saltaba, corría, bailaba y hasta se acercó al público, creando así una conexión muy especial con los asistentes. Además, su voz suena realmente preciosa en directo, y toda la banda aportó aún más encanto al espectáculo con sus coreografías y su presencia escénica.

En cuanto al segundo concierto de Guns N’ Roses al que he asistido, fueron otras tres horas de excelente música. Los instrumentos y la voz se escuchaban perfectamente. En el concierto anterior al que fui en el PGE Narodowy, la acústica dejaba bastante que desear, pero esta vez todo sonó exactamente como debía. Sumado a la energía de la banda y al gran ambiente, fue una velada realmente memorable.

Life update 🌸📽🏠

Hej! Przychodzę z ostatnim update’em. Ostatni post był poświęcony koncertowi Zaz, na który wybrałam się na początku lutego. Kolejne tygodnie upłynęły mi głównie na pracy oraz przeprowadzce do własnego mieszkania. Zajęła ona sporo czasu — musieliśmy się spakować, posprzątać nowe mieszkanie i zdać stare właścicielowi.

W międzyczasie odwiedziliśmy wiele sklepów meblowych i wymieniliśmy sporo rzeczy, m.in. kanapę, komody, szafę, stolik, fotele, oświetlenie czy piec gazowy, a także kupiliśmy wiele dodatków. Teraz, po prawie miesiącu mieszkania, mogę wreszcie powiedzieć, że na ten moment nie planujemy większych zmian, a cała metamorfoza jest dla mnie bardzo satysfakcjonująca. W przyszłości na pewno pojawią się kolejne pomysły, ale obecnie jestem już zadowolona z efektu.

W trakcie urządzania mieszkania i wymiany mebli odwiedzaliśmy też różnego rodzaju targi, np. Targi Rzeczy Ładnych w Krakowie. Był to już nasz drugi raz i śmiało mogę powiedzieć, że to jedne z najlepszych targów, na jakich do tej pory byliśmy. Co prawda nie kupiliśmy nic do mieszkania — ja skusiłam się jedynie na skórzaną torebkę od Alicji Getki oraz kubek marki Iwi Szkliwi — ale spędziliśmy tam świetny czas. Na tego typu targach można znaleźć ceramikę, ozdoby do wnętrz, biżuterię, kosmetyki naturalne, wyroby skórzane, jedzenie i wiele więcej. Z kolei na Targach Rzeczy Naturalnych w Gliwicach kupiłam kilka ozdób do domu, m.in. bukiety kwiatów wykonane ze świec, które pięknie pachną, zdobią wnętrze i są znacznie trwalsze niż kwiaty cięte.

Oprócz wizyt w sklepach i na targach wybraliśmy się też na Tydzień Kina Hiszpańskiego — na film „Przyjęcie”. To komedia historyczna z Mario Casasem w roli głównej. Produkcja bardzo pozytywnie mnie zaskoczyła — była przemyślana, z dużą dawką nienachalnego humoru i osadzona w realiach historycznych czasów Franco. Muszę dodać, że zakończenie również było bardzo dobre. Polecam!

Teraz, po tych zmianach, wracam już do codzienności i zdecydowanie zaczynam czuć większy oddech. W przyszłym miesiącu mamy zaplanowane dwie zagraniczne wycieczki, żeby trochę odpocząć po intensywnym czasie przeprowadzki i remontu, więc też już nie mogę się doczekać!

ENGLISH: Hi! I’m back with my latest update. My last post was about the Zaz concert I went to at the beginning of February. The following weeks were mostly focused on work and moving into my own apartment. It took quite a bit of time — we had to pack everything, clean the new place, and hand over the old one to the landlord.

In the meantime, we visited many furniture stores and replaced quite a few things, including the sofa, dressers, wardrobe, table, lighting, and even the gas boiler, as well as buying lots of accessories. Now, after almost a month of living here, I can finally say that we’re not planning any major changes at the moment, and I’m really happy with the overall transformation. Of course, there will probably be more ideas in the future, but for now, I’m satisfied with the result.

While decorating and furnishing the apartment, we also visited various fairs, such as the Targi Rzeczy Ładnych in Kraków. It was our second time there, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best fairs we’ve been to so far. Although we didn’t buy anything for the apartment — I only treated myself to a leather bag from Alicja Getka and a mug from Iwi Szkliwi — we had a great time. At these kinds of fairs, you can find ceramics, home décor, jewelry, natural cosmetics, leather goods, food, and much more. At the Targi Rzeczy Naturalnych in Gliwice, I bought a few home decorations, including bouquets made of candles, which smell beautiful, decorate the interior, and last much longer than fresh flowers.

Besides visiting shops and fairs, we also went to the Spanish Film Week to see the movie The Dinner. It’s a historical comedy starring Mario Casas, a well-known Spanish actor. The film positively surprised me — it was well thought out, with a good dose of subtle humor, and set in the historical context of Franco’s times. I also have to say that the ending was really good. I definitely recommend it!

Now, after all these changes, I’m getting back to my regular routine and I can finally breathe a bit more. Next month, we’ve planned two trips abroad to relax after this intense period of moving and renovating, and I honestly can’t wait!

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Vuelvo con mi última actualización. Mi última publicación la dediqué al concierto de Zaz al que asistí a principios de febrero. Las semanas siguientes empecé la mudanza a mi propio apartamento. La mudanza llevó bastante tiempo: tuvimos que empacar, limpiar el nuevo piso y entregar el antiguo al propietario.

Mientras tanto, visitamos muchas tiendas de muebles y reemplazamos bastantes cosas, como el sofá, las cómodas, el armario, la mesa, la iluminación e incluso la caldera de gas, además de comprar muchos accesorios. Llevamos casi un mes viviendo aquí y puedo decir que por el momento no planeo ningunos cambios. La transformación general me tiene muy satisfecha. Por supuesto, en el futuro surgirán nuevas ideas, pero por ahora estoy muy contenta con el resultado.

Durante la decoración y el amueblado del apartamento, también visitamos varios mercados, como uno en Cracovia (Targi Rzeczy Ładnych). Fue nuestra segunda vez allí, y debo admitir que es uno de los mejores mercadillos a los que hemos asistido. Aunque no compramos nada para el apartamento —solo me permití un bolso de cuero de Alicja Getka y una taza de Iwi Szkliwi—, lo pasamos genial. En este tipo de ferias se puede encontrar cerámica, decoración para el hogar, joyería, cosméticos naturales, artículos de cuero, comida y mucho más. En Targi Rzeczy Naturalnych en Gliwice compré algunas decoraciones para la casa, como ramos hechos de velas, que huelen muy bien, decoran el interior y duran mucho más que las flores cortadas.

Además de las visitas a tiendas y ferias, también asistimos a la Semana de Cine Español para ver la película La cena. Es una comedia histórica protagonizada por Mario Casas, un conocido actor español. La película me sorprendió positivamente: estaba bien pensada, con un buen toque de humor sutil y ambientada en el contexto histórico de la época de Franco. También hay que constatar que el final resultó interesante. ¡La recomiendo!

Ahora, tras todos estos cambios, vuelvo a la rutina diaria y ya puedo sentirme más aliviada. El próximo mes tenemos planeados dos viajes al extranjero para relajarnos después de este período de mudanza y renovación, ¡así que no quepo en mí de alegría!

Cześć! Dzisiaj przychodzę z podsumowaniem ubiegłego roku oraz niewielkimi planami na rok 2026:

Ubiegły rok obfitował w wiele wyjazdów. Wśród nich mogę wymienić wyjazd do Wiednia na jarmark wielkanocny, dwa wyjazdy do Gdańska (w tym jeden na jarmark bożonarodzeniowy), wypad urodzinowy do Międzybrodzia Żywieckiego oraz podróże do Rzymu, Hallstatt i Salzburga. Były też niesamowite koncerty, w tym dwa spełnione marzenia: koncert Jennifer Lopez oraz Guns N’ Roses. Oprócz tego uczestniczyłam również w koncertach Iron Maiden, Disturbed i Volbeat.
Zaliczyliśmy także wypad andrzejkowy na imprezę z zespołem Łobuzy w hotelu w Górach Świętokrzyskich. Było to super doświadczenie!
W lipcu zaręczyłam się, a pod koniec roku zaczęliśmy planować ślub pełną parą. Odbędzie się on w lipcu 2026 roku.
Po wielu zaniechaniach ze strony mojej promotorki oraz braku jakiegokolwiek kontaktu z nią udało mi się wreszcie zakończyć drugie studia magisterskie i obronić drugi tytuł magistra.
W ubiegłym roku uzyskałam możliwość wystawiania faktur oraz poprowadziłam dwa warsztaty językowe dla szerokiej grupy miłośników języka hiszpańskiego (jedne dotyczyły literatury, a drugie sytuacji kobiet w Ameryce Łacińskiej, w tym tej politycznej).
Jeśli chodzi o plany na kolejny rok, obejmują one przeprowadzkę do innego mieszkania, ślub oraz kilka koncertów, takich jak: Zaz, Álvaro Soler, Guns N’ Roses (ponownie) oraz Europe (również ponownie). Wśród innych postanowień są: więcej czytać, więcej odpoczywać, kontynuować odpuszczanie i bycie „nieidealną” oraz zachowywać większy spokój wobec wielu sytuacji.

ENGLISH: Hi! Today I’m here with a summary of the past year and a few plans for 2026.

The past year was full of trips. Among them, I can mention a visit to Vienna for the Easter market, two trips to Gdańsk (including one for the Christmas market), a birthday getaway to Międzybrodzie Żywieckie, as well as travels to Rome, Hallstatt, and Salzburg. There were also some amazing concerts, including two dream-come-true ones: Jennifer Lopez and Guns N’ Roses. In addition, I attended concerts by Iron Maiden, Disturbed, and Volbeat.
We also went on an Andrzejki getaway to a party with the band Łobuzy at a hotel in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. It was a really great experience!
In July, I got engaged, and towards the end of the year we started planning our wedding full steam ahead. It will take place in July 2026.
After many setbacks caused by my thesis supervisor and a complete lack of contact with her, I finally managed to complete my second master’s degree and defend my second master’s thesis.
Last year, I also gained the opportunity to issue invoices and conducted two language workshops for a broad group of Spanish language enthusiasts (one focused on literature, and the other on the situation of women in Latin America, including the political context).
As for plans for the coming year, they include moving to a new apartment, the wedding, and several concerts such as Zaz, Álvaro Soler, Guns N’ Roses (again), and Europe (again). Other resolutions include read more, getting more rest, continuing to let go and embrace being “imperfect,” and approaching many situations with greater calm.

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Hoy vengo con un resumen del año pasado y algunos planes para 2026.

El año pasado estuvo lleno de viajes. Entre ellos puedo mencionar un viaje a Viena para ver el mercado de Pascua, dos viajes a Gdańsk (uno de ellos para el mercado navideño), una escapada de mi cumpleaños a Międzybrodzie Żywieckie, así como viajes a Roma, Hallstatt y Salzburgo. También hubo conciertos increíbles, incluidos dos sueños hechos realidad: los conciertos de Jennifer Lopez y Guns N’ Roses. Además, asistí a conciertos de Iron Maiden, Disturbed y Volbeat.
También hicimos una escapada a una fiesta con la banda Łobuzy en un hotel en las montañas Świętokrzyskie. Fue una experiencia realmente muy bonita.
En julio me comprometí y, hacia finales de año, empezamos a planear nuestra boda a toda máquina. Tendrá lugar en julio de 2026.
Después de muchos obstáculos por parte de mi directora de tesis y de la falta total de contacto con ella, por fin logré finalizar mi segundo máster y defender mi segundo título de máster.
El año pasado también obtuve la posibilidad de elaborar facturas y llevé a cabo dos talleres lingüísticos para un amplio grupo de amantes de la lengua española (el primer se centró en la literatura y el otro en la situación de las mujeres en América Latina, incluida la situación política).
En cuanto a los planes para el próximo año, incluyen mudarnos a otro apartamento, la boda y varios conciertos, como Zaz, Álvaro Soler, Guns N’ Roses (de nuevo) y Europe (también de nuevo). Entre otros propósitos están leer más, descansar más, seguir soltando y aceptando ser “no perfecta”, y afrontar muchas situaciones con mayor calma.

Summary: Life changes (July – October) 💐

Hej! Dzisiaj przychodzę z podsumowaniem miesięcy od lipca do października tego roku. Działo się naprawdę dużo, więc postaram się wszystko krótko streścić. Był to z pewnością czas przełomowy pod wieloma względami, a wielu z tych rzeczy nie spodziewałabym się jeszcze kilka lat temu. Dajcie koniecznie znać, co u Was! Miłego dnia!

Jeśli chodzi o wyjazdy i wakacje, w ciągu tych kilku miesięcy udało mi się uczestniczyć w kilku koncertach: Guns N’ Roses, Jennifer Lopez, Iron Maiden oraz Volbeat i Disturbed (te ostatnie już w październiku).
Z wycieczek zaliczyłam sierpniowy wypad w góry, a w październiku wybrałam się w austriackie Alpy (Hallstatt i Salzburg), a następnie na dłuższy pobyt do Rzymu.
W lipcu również się zaręczyłam, a w sierpniu świętowałam swoje 26. urodziny.
W październiku zakończyłam też kolejny etap akademicki — obroniłam drugiego magistra, tym razem z międzynarodowych studiów nauk politycznych i dyplomacji. Cieszę się, że pomimo bardzo trudnego kontaktu z promotorką udało mi się doprowadzić ten etap do końca i napisać pracę o analizie dwóch prezydentur pierwszej kobiety-prezydent w Chile.
Jeśli chodzi o pracę, otworzyłam własną działalność i zwiększyłam liczbę godzin w pracy, m.in. na Uniwersytecie.

ENGLISH: Hey! Today I’m bringing a little summary of what happened between July and October. A lot had been going on, so I’ll try to keep it short. It was definitely a breakthrough period in many ways, and I wouldn’t have expected many of these things to happen just a few years ago. Let me know how you’ve been! Have a great day!

As for holidays and travel, over the past few months I went to several concerts: Guns N’ Roses, Jennifer Lopez, Iron Maiden, and Volbeat & Disturbed (the last two were already in October). For trips, I went to the mountains in August, and in October I visited the Austrian Alps (Hallstatt and Salzburg), followed by a longer stay in Rome.
In July I also got engaged, and in August I celebrated my 26th birthday.
In October I completed another academic milestone — I defended my second master’s degree, this time in International Political Studies and Diplomacy. I’m glad that, despite having a very difficult relationship with my supervisor, I managed to complete this stage and write a paper analyzing the two presidencies of the first female president of Chile.
Work-wise, I opened my own business and increased my number of teaching hours, including at the University.

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Hoy vengo con un resumen de lo que pasó entre julio y octubre. Pasaron muchísimas cosas, así que intentaré contarlo todo de manera breve. Fue sin duda una etapa decisiva en muchos aspectos, y no me habría imaginado la mayoría de dichas cosas hace unos años. ¿Qué tal estáis? ¡Un buen día!

En cuanto a los viajes y a las vacaciones, acudí a varios conciertos: Guns N’ Roses, Jennifer Lopez, Iron Maiden, y Volbeat & Disturbed (estos últimos ya en octubre). En cuanto a las excursiones, en agosto hice una escapada a la montaña y en octubre viajé a los Alpes austríacos (Hallstatt y Salzburgo), y después pasé una estancia más larga en Roma.
En julio también me comprometí y en agosto celebré mis 26 años.
En octubre concluí otra etapa académica: defendí mi segundo máster, esta vez en Estudios Políticos Internacionales y Diplomacia. Me alegra que, a pesar de haber tenido una relación muy difícil con mi tutora, haya logrado completar esta etapa y escribir un trabajo sobre el análisis de las dos presidencias de la primera mujer presidenta de Chile.
En lo laboral, monté mi propio negocio y aumenté mis horas de trabajo, también en la Universidad.

October: Two Trips and Two Concerts 🎶✈️🏞☀️

Hej! Dzisiaj przychodzę do Was z relacją z moich wypraw, które miały miejsce w pierwszej połowie października. Na początku miesiąca wybraliśmy się do Austrii — już po raz drugi w tym roku. Tym razem odwiedziliśmy dwa miasta: Hallstatt, położone u podnóża Alp, oraz Salzburg. Hallstatt zrobił na nas zdecydowanie większe wrażenie. Piękna, krystaliczna woda, malownicze, małe miasteczko i majestatyczne góry pokryte odrobiną śniegu! Cudowne miejsce, jak z bajki. Nic dziwnego, że mówi się, iż posłużyło za inspirację do bajki Kraina lodu (Frozen). Tam znajduje się też urokliwa kopalnia soli, a sama gmina wpisana jest na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO. Jedno z najpiękniejszych miejsc, jakie widziałam!

Na kolejną, nieco dłuższą wycieczkę, polecieliśmy do Rzymu. Zależało nam na spędzeniu miło czasu i na zwiedzeniu najważniejszych zabytków. Największe wrażenie zrobiło na nas oczywiście Koloseum — niesamowite uczucie zobaczyć je na żywo! Odwiedziliśmy też Forum Romanum, Panteon, Bazylikę św. Piotra z Placem św. Piotra, Zamek Świętego Anioła oraz Fontannę di Trevi. Poza tym dużo spacerowaliśmy, korzystaliśmy z pięknej pogody i kupiliśmy trochę pamiątek.

Dwa pozostałe wyjazdy to koncerty: Disturbed w Krakowie oraz Volbeat w Warszawie. Mimo że na co dzień częściej słucham Disturbed, to koncert Volbeat był moim zdaniem lepszy. Głos wokalisty, kontakt z publicznością i świetne nagłośnienie zrobiły niesamowitą robotę. W tym przypadku żadne efekty specjalne nie były potrzebne, żeby oczarowali nas swoim występem!

Po tylu wyjazdach, w połowie października, wróciłam do pracy i prowadzenia zajęć językowych. Na pewno ten czas pozostanie ze mną na długo — zwłaszcza wspomnienia z wyjazdów do Rzymu i Austrii. Jakie Wy macie ostatnio wyjazdy na koncie? Miłego dnia!

ENGLISH: Hey! Today I’m coming to you with a post about my trips from early October. In the first week of October, we went to Austria — for the second time this year. This time we visited two cities: Hallstatt, at the foot of the Alps, and Salzburg. Hallstatt impressed us more. Beautiful, crystal-clear water, a picturesque little town and majestic mountains covered with just a bit of snow! A wonderful place, straight out of a fairy tale. No wonder people say it inspired the movie Frozen. There’s also a charming salt mine there, and the town itself is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. I will definitely go back because it’s one of the most visually beautiful towns I’ve seen!

For the next, slightly longer trip, we flew to Rome. We wanted to spend a nice time wandering the narrow, atmospheric streets and visiting the most important landmarks. The Colosseum impressed us the most — it’s amazing to see it in real life! We also visited the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, St. Peter’s Basilica with St. Peter’s Square, Castel Sant’Angelo, and the Trevi Fountain. Besides that, we walked a lot, enjoyed the beautiful weather outside, and bought some souvenirs.

The other two trips were concerts: Disturbed in Kraków and Volbeat in Warsaw. Even though I listen to Disturbed more often, the Volbeat concert was better in my opinion. The singer’s voice, the connection with the audience, and the excellent sound system did an incredible job. No special effects were needed — they enchanted us with their performance!

After so many trips, by mid-October, I was back at work and teaching language classes. This time will definitely stay with me for a long time, especially the trips to Rome and Austria. How about your trips? Have a great time!

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Hoy vengo con una entrada sobre mis viajes de principios de octubre. La primera semana del mes fuimos a Austria (de nuevo). Esta vez visitamos dos ciudades: Hallstatt, al pie de los Alpes, y Salzburgo. Hallstatt nos impresionó mucho más. ¡Agua cristalina, un pueblo pintoresco y montañas majestuosas cubiertas con un poco de nieve! Un lugar maravilloso, como sacado de un cuento de hadas. No es de extrañar que se diga que inspiró la película Frozen. También hay una mina de sal allí, y el propio pueblo está en la lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. ¡Es uno de los pueblos más bellos que he visto en mi vida!

Luego volamos a Roma con el fin de pasar un buen tiempo y visitar los monumentos más importantes. Lo que más nos gustó, por supuesto, fue el Coliseo — ¡es increíble verlo en vivo! También visitamos el Foro Romano, el Panteón, la Basílica de San Pedro con la Plaza de San Pedro, el Castel Sant’Angelo y la Fontana di Trevi. Además, pasamos el tiempo caminando, disfrutando del buen tiempo y comprando algunos recuerdos.

Los otros dos viajes fueron conciertos: Disturbed en Cracovia y Volbeat en Varsovia. Aunque escucho a Disturbed más a menudo, el concierto de Volbeat resultó mejor. La voz del cantante, la conexión con el público y el excelente sonido hicieron un trabajo increíble. A veces no se necesitan efectos especiales para que el show sea de otro mundo.

Hej! Dzisiaj przychodzę do Was z sierpniowym updatem. W tym miesiącu byłam na dwóch wyjazdach, o których chciałabym pokrótce napisać, a także mam do polecenia jedną książkę do nauki języka hiszpańskiego, którą otrzymałam właśnie w sierpniu.

2 sierpnia wybrałam się na kolejny koncert do Warszawy — tym razem chodzi o zespół Iron Maiden. Koncert będę wspominać bardzo miło: świetna muzyka, animacje, które umilały widok, oraz charakterystyczne rytuały zespołu, takie jak wnoszenie flagi czy maskotka Eddie. Była to niebywała gratka dla fanów, co doskonale widziałam po reakcjach mojego narzeczonego. To był naprawdę dobrze spędzony czas!

W długi weekend wybraliśmy się również do Żywca. Odwiedziliśmy klimatyczny Park Zamkowy oraz Muzeum Browaru, ale największą atrakcją naszej wycieczki było zwiedzanie bunkru Wędrowiec w Węgierskiej Górce oraz pływanie rowerkiem wodnym po Jeziorze Żywieckim.

W sierpniu otrzymałam też przesyłkę z książką do nauki hiszpańskiego. Czym wyróżnia się Hiszpański na co dzień. Język potoczny, którego nie nauczysz się w szkole? Znajdziemy w niej mnóstwo języka potocznego, idiomów czy ciekawostek językowych. Nie ma tutaj sztucznych, podręcznikowych zdań. Książka składa się z 10 rozdziałów tematycznych: jedzenie, telefon i media społecznościowe, zakupy, samochód, problemy/ usterki/ awarie, imprezowanie, w pracy, zdrowie i lekarz, relacje międzyludzkie, nastrój i emocje. Materiał obejmuje poziomy od A2 do C1, dzięki czemu świetnie sprawdzi się zarówno dla ambitnych początkujących, jak i dla osób, które już swobodnie posługują się tym językiem. Jestem w niej zakochana zarówno prywatnie, jak i zawodowo — jako lektor i tłumacz języka hiszpańskiego!

ENGLISH: Hey! Today I’m coming with my August update. This month, I went on two trips that I’d like to briefly write about, and I also have one book recommendation for learning Spanish. On August 2, I went to another concert in Warsaw — this time, it was Iron Maiden. I’ll have fond memories of that evening: great music, animations that made the show even more enjoyable, and the band’s classic rituals, like bringing out the flag and the Eddie mascot. It was an incredible treat for fans, as I could clearly see from my fiancé’s reactions. A great time was had by all!

The last weekend, we also took a trip to the mountains, to Żywiec. We visited the atmospheric park Park Zamkowy and the Brewery Museum, but the biggest highlight of our trip was exploring the Wędrowiec bunker in Węgierska Górka and pedaling a water bike on Lake Żywiec.

Also in August, I got a new book for learning Spanish: Hiszpański na co dzień. It’s a great resource focused on real, conversational language — no stiff textbook phrases here. It covers slang, idioms, and practical vocabulary across topics like food, social media, shopping, health, relationships and much more. It’s ideal for learners from A2 to C1. I’m loving it — both as a language learner and as a Spanish teacher!

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Hoy vengo con una nueva update, esta vez de agosto. Para empezar, este mes he hecho dos viajes de los que me gustaría hablar brevemente. El 2 de agosto fui al concierto de Iron Maiden a Varsovia. Esa noche la recuerdo con mucho cariño: música impresionante, animaciones que hicieron el show aún más entretenido, y los rituales típicos de la banda, como sacar la bandera y la emblemática mascota Eddie. Los aficionados de la banda no cabían en sí de alegría, algo que se notaba claramente en la reacción de mi prometido. ¡Todos lo pasamos genial!

El fin de semana pasado también hicimos una escapada a las montañas, a Żywiec. Visitamos un parque muy bonito llamado Park Zamkowy y el Museo de la Cerveza, pero lo más destacado del viaje fue explorar el búnker Wędrowiec en Węgierska Górka y pasear en bici acuática por el lago Żywiec.

En agosto también recibí una novedad editorial para aprender español: Hiszpański na co dzień. Es un manual excelente, centrado en el lenguaje real y cotidiano. Incluye jerga y muchas expresiones idiomáticas. Consta de diez capítulos temáticos: comida, redes sociales, compras, trabajo, salud y relaciones, entre otros. Está dirigido a todos los niveles, desde A2 hasta C1. ¡Me encanta, tanto a nivel personal como profesional!

Guns N’ Roses & Jennifer Lopez 🎶❤️‍🔥👗

Hej! W lipcu byłam na dwóch koncertach, o których chciałabym dzisiaj napisać: Guns N’ Roses oraz Jennifer Lopez. 12 lipca pojechałam na pierwszy z nich. Chciałam jechać na koncert Guns N’ Roses od dłuższego czasu i wreszcie miałam taką okazję. Sam koncert był niebywale długi, ponieważ trwał lekko ponad 3 godziny! Była to poezja dla fanów ich piosenek, poza tym na uwagę zasługują popisy gitarowe Slasha oraz wokal i niesamowita energia Axla. Długo czekałam na ten moment i finalnie jestem bardzo szczęśliwa, że usłyszałam takie preboje na żywo: Welcome to the Jungle, Live and Let Die, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, November Rain czy Don’t Cry.

Niewiele później, 25 lipca pojechałam na koncert Jennifer Lopez. Spełniłam tym samym swoje największe marzenie z lat nastoletnich, kiedy to miałam wręcz obsesję na jej punkcie! Byłam już na wielu koncertach, ale muszę przyznać, że ten był jednym z najlepszych, na jakim kiedykolwiek byłam. Show, które dała, było po prostu spektakularne: światła, choreografie, stroje, energia… Wszystko było dopięte na ostatni guzik. Sama artystka kilkukrotnie zmieniała przebranie i wraz z tancerzami dawała czadu na parkiecie! Oprócz swoich największych hitów, zaśpiewała też covery czy niewydane wcześniej utwory. Najbardziej spodobał mi się wykon: Save Me Tonight, Booty, Jenny From the Block, I’m Into You, Birthday, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Gracias a la vida, Ain’t It Funny, Waiting For Tonight oraz Dance Again. Jennifer Lopez zrobiła show nie z tej ziemi i nie da się tego oddać słowami!

Nie będę porównywać, który bardziej mi się podobał, bo jest to niemożliwe ze względu na zupełnie inny gatunek wykonywanej przez nich muzyki, ale obydwa były spełnieniami moich marzeń od dłuższego czasu i jestem niesamowicie wdzięczna, że mogłam ich zobaczyć i to w przeciągu tego samego miesiąca!

ENGLISH: Hey! In July, I went to two concerts that I’d like to write about today: Guns N’ Roses and Jennifer Lopez. I went to the first one on July 12th. I had wanted to see Guns N’ Roses live for a long time, and I finally got the chance to do it. The concert itself was incredibly long — it lasted just over three hours! Slash’s guitar solos, Axl’s vocals, and the overall energy were absolutely unforgettable. I had waited a long time for this moment, and I’m so happy I finally got to hear some of their biggest hits live: Welcome to the Jungle, Live and Let Die, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, November Rain, and Don’t Cry.

On July 25th, I went to a Jennifer Lopez concert. This fulfilled my biggest dream from my teenage years, when I was obsessed with her! I’ve been to many concerts, but I must admit that this was one of the best I’ve ever attended. The show she put on was simply spectacular: the lights, the choreography, the costumes, the energy… everything was perfect. The artist herself changed outfits several times and rocked the dance floor with her dancers! In addition to her greatest hits, she also performed covers and some previously unreleased songs. My favourite performances were: Save Me Tonight, Booty, Jenny From the Block, I’m Into You, Birthday, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Gracias a la vida, Ain’t It Funny, Waiting For Tonight, and Dance Again. Jennifer Lopez put on an out-of-this-world show that’s impossible to describe in words!

It’s hard to say which concert I liked more — their music is so different that comparing them wouldn’t make sense. What matters most is that both were long-held dreams of mine, and I feel incredibly lucky to have experienced them both in the same month!

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! En julio fui a dos conciertos de los que me gustaría hablar hoy: Guns N’ Roses y Jennifer Lopez. Fui al primero el 12 de julio. Hacía mucho tiempo que quería ver a Guns N’ Roses en vivo, y por fin tuve la oportunidad de hacerlo. ¡El concierto fue increíblemente largo — duró un poco más de tres horas! Los solos de guitarra de Slash, la voz de Axl y la energía en general fueron absolutamente inolvidables. Había esperado mucho tiempo por este momento, y estoy muy feliz de haber podido escuchar en vivo algunos de sus mayores éxitos: Welcome to the Jungle, Live and Let Die, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, November Rain y Don’t Cry.

El 25 de julio cumplí el mayor sueño de mi adolescencia: fui al concierto de Jennifer Lopez. Cuando era adolescente, estaba completamente obsesionada con ella, así que me alegra haber podido asistir a su concierto. He ido a muchos conciertos, pero debo admitir que este ha sido uno de los mejores a los que he ido. El show que dio fue simplemente espectacular: luces, coreografías, cambios de vestuario, energía… ¡Todo fue perfecto! La cantante cambió de vestuario varias veces y lo dio todo en la pista junto con sus bailarines. Además de sus grandes éxitos, también interpretó versiones de otras canciones e incluso cantó algunas canciones suyas nunca lanzadas. Mis actuaciones favoritas fueron: Save Me Tonight, Booty, Jenny From the Block, I’m Into You, Birthday, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Gracias a la vida, Ain’t It Funny, Waiting For Tonight y Dance Again. Jennifer Lopez ofreció un espectáculo del otro mundo, ¡imposible de describirlo con palabras!

Es difícil decir qué concierto me gustó más — su música es tan diferente que compararlos no tendría sentido. Lo más importante es que ambos fueron sueños que tenía desde hace mucho tiempo, ¡y me siento increíblemente afortunada de haberlos vivido en el mismo mes!

Update & Gdańsk 🌊

Hej! Dzisiaj przychodzę do Was z krótkim updatem życiowym. Od początku maja dużo się działo. Miałam przyjemność po raz pierwszy być w komisji na egzaminach certyfikowanych DELE z języka hiszpańskiego oraz pod koniec miesiąca prowadziłam moje autorskie warsztaty literackie o twórczości Gabriela Garcíi Márqueza & Mario Vargasa Llosy (w całości po hiszpańsku dla osób zaawansowanych). W czerwcu natomiast miałam ostatnią sesję na drugim kierunku studiów i teraz pozostało mi jedynie pisać magisterkę w przerwach od prowadzenia kursów wakacyjnych z hiszpańskiego.

Pod koniec ubiegłego miesiąca pojechałam również na tygodniowy wypad do Gdańska. Chcieliśmy zwiedzić to, czego nie udało nam się za dwoma pierwszymi razami. Tym razem odwiedziliśmy statek towarowy Sołdek, Europejskie Centrum Solidarności (jak sama nazwa wskazuje, opowiada o czasach komunizmu w Polsce, strajkach w stoczni gdańskiej i ruchu “Solidarność”), Galerię Starych Zabawek, Muzeum Emigracji (sięga wstecz do wieku XIX i migracji takich osób jak chociażby Fryderyk Chopin, Maria Skłodowska-Curie, Adam Mickiewicz czy Joseph Conrad), ale również spędziliśmy czas na plaży. Zarówno Europejskie Centrum Solidarności jak i Muzeum Emigracji są warte odwiedzenia. Pełne historii, z prawdziwymi dokumentami, przedmiotami z dawniejszych czasów. Zwiedzenie wszystkiego na spokojnie zajmuje kilka godzin!

Zdecydowanie był to dobry czas i na pewno wrócimy do Gdańska w grudniu. Co nowego u Was? Miłego dnia!

ENGLISH: Hi! Today I’m here with a quick life update. A lot has happened since the beginning of May. I had the pleasure of serving on the committee for the DELE Spanish language certification exams for the first time, and at the end of the month, I led a literary workshop on the works of Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa for advanced language learners. In June, I completed the final classes and passed the last exams in my second degree program. Now, it’s time to write another master’s thesis and teach summer Spanish courses.

At the end of last month, I also went on a week-long trip to Gdańsk. We wanted to see the places we missed during our first two visits. This time, we visited the cargo ship Sołdek, the European Solidarity Centre (as the name suggests, it tells the story of the communist era in Poland, the Gdańsk shipyard strikes, and the Solidarity movement), The Old Toy Gallery, and the Emigration Museum (which traces migration back to the 19th century and features figures such as Frederic Chopin, Maria Skłodowska-Curie, Adam Mickiewicz, and Joseph Conrad, among others). We also spent some time relaxing at the beach. Both the European Solidarity Centre and the Emigration Museum are well worth a visit — full of history, original documents, and artifacts from the past. It takes a few unhurried hours to see everything!

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Hoy vengo con un update de mi vida. Han pasado muchas cosas desde principios de mayo. Tuve el placer de formar parte, por primera vez, del comité para los exámenes de certificación DELE de español y, a finales de mes, impartí un taller literario sobre las obras de Gabriel García Márquez y Mario Vargas Llosa para nuestros estudiantes avanzados del español. En junio, por otra parte, pasé los últimos exámenes en mi segunda carrera universitaria. Ahora me toca escribir otro trabajo de fin de máster y dar clases de verano.

También hice un viaje de una semana a Gdańsk a finales del mes pasado. Quisimos visitar lo que no habíamos logrado ver las dos primeras veces. Esta vez visitamos el barco de carga Sołdek, el Centro Europeo de Solidaridad (como su nombre indica, narra la época comunista en Polonia, las huelgas en los astilleros de Gdańsk y el movimiento «Solidaridad»), la Galería del Juguete Antiguo, el Museo de la Emigración (que se remonta al siglo XIX y aborda la emigración de personajes como Frédéric Chopin, Maria Skłodowska-Curie, Adam Mickiewicz y Joseph Conrad), pero también pasamos tiempo en la playa. Tanto el Centro Europeo de Solidaridad como el Museo de la Emigración merecen la pena. Están llenos de historia, con documentos auténticos y objetos de otras épocas. ¡Se tarda bastante tiempo para verlo todo!

Definitivamente lo pasamos de maravilla y volveremos a Gdańsk en diciembre. ¿Qué hay de nuevo? ¡Feliz semana!

Vienna- the Easter fair 😍🐣

Hej! Dzisiaj przychodzę do Was z relacją z mojego tegorocznego pobytu w Wiedniu. Tym razem pojechałam do Wiednia głównie na jarmark wielkanocny, ale po drodze zobaczyłam też inne rzeczy. Najlepszym punktem tej wycieczki było zdecydowanie wnętrze pałacu Schönbrunn. Wcześniej zwiedziłam pobliskie ogrody i widziałam ten pałac barokowy jedynie z zewnątrz, a tym razem zdecydowałam się wejść do środka. Liczba sal do zwiedzenia jest ogromna, a ich wnętrze, bogactwo, zdobienia i obrazy, które się tam znajdują, zapierają dech w piersi! Obok pałacu jest główny jarmark wielkanocny. Jest bardzo duży, ale to nie on zachwycił mnie najbardziej. W czasie spaceru po mieście odwiedziłam ponownie Hofburg, Parlament, Kościół Karola czy Operę Wiedeńską. W drodze z Parlamentu do Katedry św. Szczepana natknęłam się na kolejne dwa jarmarki, bardziej kameralne, lecz pełne ręcznie robionych ozdób wielkanocnych, wyrobów ze skóry czy biżuterii. Oprócz zwiedzania był też czas na siedzenie w parku czy kupienie pamiątek. Pobyt w Wiedniu uważam za bardzo udany i cieszę się, że weszłam do Pałacu, którego za pierwszym razem nie udało mi się zwiedzić. Jak Wasze wrażenia z Wiednia? Wesołych Świąt! 🐣

ENGLISH: Hey! Today I come to you with a post about my second stay in Vienna. In mid-April I went there mainly for the Easter market, but I also saw other things along the way. The best part of this trip was definitely the interior of Schönbrunn Palace. I had previously visited the nearby gardens and had only seen this Baroque palace from the outside, but this time I decided to go inside. The number of rooms to explore is huge, and the interior, the opulence, the ornaments and the paintings that are there are breathtaking! Next to the palace is the main Easter fair. It is very large, but it was not the one that delighted me the most. While walking around the city, I visited again the Hofburg, the Parliament, Church of St. Charles and the Vienna Opera House. On my way from the Viennese Parliament to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, I came across two more fairs, smaller, but with beautiful handmade Easter decorations, leather goods or jewelry. Apart from sightseeing, there was also time to sit in the park or buy souvenirs. I consider the overall stay in Vienna very successful. Do you like Vienna? Happy Easter! 🐣

ESPAÑOL: ¡Hola! Hoy vengo con un post sobre mi segunda estancia en Viena. A mediados de abril fui a Viena para visitar el mercadillo de Pascua, pero también vi otras cosas por el camino. Lo mejor de este viaje fue sin duda el interior del Palacio de Schönbrunn. Anteriormente había recorrido los jardines cercanos y sólo había visto este palacio barroco desde fuera, pero esta vez decidí entrar. El número de salas para explorar es enorme, y el interior, la opulencia, los ornamentos y las pinturas que había ¡son impresionantes! Junto al palacio está la feria principal de Pascua. Paseando por la ciudad, volví a visitar el Hofburg, el Parlamento, la Iglesia de San Carlos y la Ópera de Viena. De camino del Parlamento a la catedral de San Esteban, me encontré con otros dos mercadillos vieneses, más pequeños, pero con preciosos adornos de Pascua hechos a mano, artículos de cuero o joyas. Además de hacer turismo, también hubo tiempo para sentarse en el parque o comprar recuerdos. Me lo pasé genial y volví a mi ciudad con las pilas cargadas. ¿Os gusta Viena? ¡Felices Pascuas! 🐣
