Brown staff, faculty, and full-time students are allowed access and borrowing at Fleet Library. Show your Brown ID at the Public Safety booth for entry. To register for a borrowing account, please visit the RISD circulation desk. You will be asked to sign into your Brown Library account and demonstrate a record in good standing.

This account is valid for one academic year and may be re-activated annually while employed or matriculated at Brown.

LOCATIONS AND HOURS

Fleet Library is located on the first two floors of 15 Westminster Street in downtown Providence. Show your Brown ID at the Public Safety booth to gain entry.

The library’s main reading room, periodicals, media and circulating collection can be found on the ground floor. Special Collections, RISD Archives, and the Visual + Material Resource Center are located on the building’s second floor.

ELECTRONIC RESOURCE ACCESS

Use of electronic resources is only available on-site at each institution.

Fleet Library’s specialized databases and electronic resources may be accessed from any public computer in the library reading room, or through campus wifi. When seeking articles and electronic journals, Fleet Search is the best place to begin. RISD’s library catalog does not index individual articles and journal issues, but does include eBooks.
