The Dark Mark means it's time to party!
That's right, it's time to give thanks and celebrate the bounty of fall, Wizard style, with food, drinks and, of course, Wizard Rock. Come and enjoy an early Thanksgiving with your Wizarding family. We'll be toasting the new POTUS and listening to:
The Whomping Willows Justin Finch-Fletchley and the Sugar Quills Tom Riddle and Friends
**$4.00** collected at the door and don't forget to bring some extra for that fab merch they'll be selling!
Best of all, half the proceeds are going to provide relief to Haitians impacted by Hurricane Ike. (The other half is going to gas money and food!)
See you there!

| Crystal Ball - Jan 9, 2009 |
[17 Aug 2008|10:00pm] |
All, As most of you know the Crystal Ball will be held on Jan 9, 2009 at Landoll's Mohican Castle in Loudonville Ohio. Information on the ball as it comes out can be found on it's site: http://www.hp-ohio.com/crystalball.html Recently (as in this weekend) we've turned on the Ticket Sales. Tickets will be $65 a person and can be purchased by mailing Beth or using paypal on the site. This year we expect a lot of attendees from the HP fandom, especially some of our sister regional groups! Yay for International Magical Cooperation! Also, as some of you have seen by discussion on the forums, the rooms at the Castle are going quickly. As of now, there are 2 suites and 4 cottages left unbooked. Please remember that the Castle is not the only lodging option. The Mohican Resort is close by and I believe is willing to put together a shuttle for guests to and from the castle for a fee. We will post more on the status of the different lodging options and any other information we get from their management. If you have any questions, please post on the forums or contact Monica, events@hp-ohio.com Thanks Everyone!! Manda

| To Crystal Ball attendees...THANK YOU!!! |
[09 Dec 2006|11:54am] |
First and foremost a GIGANTIC thank you to each and every person who purchased a ticket to the Crystal Ball, each of you gave us your hard earned $$ and trusted that we would give you a lovely evening (not, you know, run off to a tropical country...). Without each of you this event wouldn't have been possible (really) so...
I hope to meet each of at some point in the future. Oh! And be sure to check out the pics of the event here.
Secondly some individual Thank You's are due to the following individuals, without whom the Ball wouldn't have happened:
MANDA: For creating Landoll's Academy of Sorcery and it's houses, history etc. For creating the logo's and the website and heading up decorations. For transporting the Jeep and it's contents. For showing up early to decorate and early again to break down. For limitless enthusiasm, creativity and general CAN-DO attitude a GINORMOUS THANK YOU (and a playful swat to the backside!).
TODD: For getting this whole thing STARTED! For finding Landoll's, writing a proposal to them, sending it off and generally believing this thing was even POSSIBLE! For valiantly trying to salvage the shuttle service. For showing up early to decorate, cleaning up the next day AND for playing Headmaster to all of those crazies at the pool....THANK YOU!!!!
JENNA: For drumming up a lot of LJ sales, procuring a FAB DJ, scoping out Landoll's on a hot summer day and performing general sounding board duties...THANK YOU!!
CHERYL: For making countless chocolate frogs and showing up early to decorate. For handling all of the money, dealing with PayPal headaches, keeping us in the black and doing all of that grown-up-not-fun-type treasurer things...THANK YOU!!
JAMES: For printing all of those fabulous banners and backdrops. For providing hip music, wizarding music and dinner music. For decorating AND for cleaning up. For providing back-up and all important 'day of event' coordination to both the DJ and the photographer (when you could have been kicking back with 4 lovely ladies in your room-a sacrifice indeed!) and for generally being helpful in any way that was needed...THANK YOU!!!
LIZ: For PR'ing her backside off despite a lack of internets and much personal priorities as well as showing up early (in curlers) to decorate...THANK YOU!!
MICHELLE: For creating and printing the table flyers and for transporting that huge backdrop. For always offering your help and support (even when you had a pain in the neck)...THANK YOU!
LINDSAY: For creating those gorgeous paintings of the founders! THANK YOU!
BETH: For general enthusiasm and great ideas. For creating the luminaria and collecting buckets of lake sand...THANK YOU!!
BRIAN, CANDI & SCOTT: For showing up early to decorate and doing a HUGE amount of UNdecorating the next day...my eternal THANKS!
CATHY & SEAN: For schlepping that incredible Hogwarts painting across the country (and through airport checks) and for leaving it here with me!! THANK YOU!!
My apologies if I've forgotten the contributions of someone (I still have post-event delirium!) please redirect me in the comments.
