We're not here to judge your kinks; we have plenty of our own. Don't write fanfic yourself? Join anyway! Posts are appreciated, but never mandatory. You can browse our archive of fics by character, pairing, fic length, kink and more! In addition to smut, we also welcome dark, angsty fics with themes of death and violence. But the lighter side is good, too. Bring on the funny! Make us laugh!
RULES: There aren't many rules here, but there are a few. Please follow them, or we will send Snape to spank you. OK, I knew that threat would never work on this crowd....
1) ALL MEMBERS MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE. If your birth year or some sort of age statement is not present in your user info, your membership to this community will not be approved.
2) LJ Policy: All posts must conform to LJ's policy on harmful content. If you see anything here which you believe might be in violation of this policy, please message the mod, and I will deal with it. I don't see any reason to get fandom's panties in a twist.
3) Fic Rating: All posts must be rated R, NC-17, M, or an equivalent adult rating. Posts are locked automatically so that only community members can view them.
4) Human Decency: Be polite. We are all civilised perverts here, so let's try and act like it. Any wank which does not involve pleasurable genital stimulation will get you banned.
5) LJ-Cut: Please place large images, or anything over 500 words, behind an LJ cut.
6) Feedback: If you enjoyed something, say so! Everyone loves a reader who gives good comment.
7) Don't make your readers work too hard. If you want people to read your story or look at your art, DON'T make them dig for it. DON'T make them "friend" your journal. DON'T post chapter 15 of your epic without linking to previous chapters for people who missed the beginning. DO include characters, pairings, fic length, genre, and other relevant info in your header. DO either post your work directly to hp_adult or else post a link where readers can easily view the content with a single click. We all pretty much know what we want from fanworks, and instant gratification is part of that.
8) TAGS! Please use tags when posting. Using tags (characters, pairings, fic lengths, kinks, etc...) makes your fic or art easier to find, and might get you a few more viewers. A list of tags can be found here. Use any that apply to your post, and feel free to create new ones as necessary. Using the "edit tags" option after making your post is easier that trying to remember which tags you wanted to use.
9) Pimp your fest/comm. Please do! Tag these posts as "advertising", and any other relevant tags. Fest posts will be deleted after three months.
10) Posting Format: Please use the following (or similar) format when posting:
Title: So-and-so and the Blah Blah Blah Author: This means you Wordcount: As well as the number, this might include whether the story is a oneshot or chaptered. Genre: Romance/smut/slash/humour/adventure/drama/angst/fluff/het/etc... Rating: The American film rating system is by no means universal, but it provides some helpful guidelines. - R: violence, "onscreen" sexual activity, lots of very strong language. - NC-17: Explicit sexual activity (ie, descriptions of body parts and what they are doing) and/or graphic violence. - M: Umbrella "Mature" rating which neatly covers both of the above categories. Warnings: Anything that might squick the faint of heart? Or entice our inner pervert? Please take care special to warn of anything that some readers might find triggering. Characters/Pairings: Anybody who's gettin' it on should definitely be listed! Summary: Here's what happens in this story without giving too much away.
