Hot

Back to the medical centre first thing...the results turned up...one receptionist didn't think they were to go in with the rest of the paperwork. Fortunately this morning the regular one knew they were...

By 9am it was getting decidedly hot.

Today has been mostly indoors, shutting the hot side and opening whatever window would let in any cooler air.   I think we got up to 26⁰ degrees at least.

A little more tidying and weeding was done at teatime...in the shade! Then picking Alpine strawberries, and the red and white currants that were ripe enough. If I leave them to ripen properly the blackbirds eat (and spoil) the lot.

A few broad beans were a nice addition to supper..and as I prepared  supper I had front and back doors open to catch the breeze that had lifted..and the house cooled nicely.

More work in the garden after supper...until the midgies came out! Next door's laurel bush is becoming a tree. I need to get it back behind the fence line. Soon the phone company will want him to cut it back as it it growing towards the phone lines.

looking out of the back of the house the moon is a half circle . I didn't photograph that.

I love that you can open two doors and the whole house cools. Unfortunately my house is long and thin, with the front and back doors directly opposite each other. So I I open both it goes in one door straight out the other.
Still it is nice to be able to get some fresh air when the weather allows.

I very decidedly dislike hot weather! Right now we are enjoying a cool spell, and i am very grateful.
I so enjoy your garden photos, and your accounts of how you use what you grow.

Low 30s here yesterday. I lurked inside and started on Danny & Emma's quilt. Not made an Irish Chain before but basically it's a Patience 9 Patch and I was cutting and sewing pretty accurately for me, which makes life easier!

The house is bat and fly central. Can do without either . . . Too hot to do anything other than water round in the garden.

Lovely sunset picture. Glad your results were normal and that you now have the paperwork you wanted, I'm the same, I like to understand the results/blurb. Too hot on my allotment to do much until late evenings or very early mornings but it's adjusting to the heat, things are growing slower but nothing has died recently. Betty

Nice to have a breezeway built in. I designed ours to have a shaded breezeway between the house and outbuilding and breezeways through the house on nor'westery days. Our Grrek aprtmt had one and it made noticeable difference on those bleaky overheated days of midsummer

Such good news on the medical front. Lovely sunsets photos. They remind me of how far north you are. Glad you are finding ways to survive your heat wave.

The blues in your sky photos are pastel and very beautiful.
Good to know you got your medical results sorted.
The heat is coming on strong, especially in France. This was reported in the US, and we rarely hear about temperatures in Europe.
