I started banjo about 6 months ago and the other day after I practiced my rolls for longer durations I woke up with a sorenesss in the tendon of my right arm..I'm assuming this is normal but I am not sure so thought I'd ask and see if I should take a day off and curious as to if this soreness will go away eventually or if it's the start of a lifelong problem...??

Hello everyone!
I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about Ralph Stanley 2's new album. He was taking names and addresses at a local show in January to send it out when he said he was done recording it. Today on the radio, I heard one of the songs from it. Anything? |

Two modern bands dishing up toe-tapping blue grass and traditional music. All-girl string band Nobody's Darlin' specializes in Old Timey, Bluegrass, Gospel, and even some classic country. There local girls have been peforming all around Michigan in the last couple of years. The Salt Miners have been creating their own high energy brand of stringband music. They get their inspiration from old school bluegrass, traditional folk, rock, medicine show bands, old country, punk and blues. They have been carving out a rowdy niche for themselves by serving up rollicking live shows, they pull the crowd into their performance with a gritty, honest sound. Nobody's Darlin' w/ special guest The Salt Miners (from Detroit) Saturday, November 03, 2007 at 8:00 PM $25

So I will be in the Los Angeles area pretty soon and I was wondering where or which shops would be a good place to pick up a banjo? Used is okay. Good pawnshops that would most likely have some? I've never had one or played one so it would be great to get some pointers too on which type to look for. I also don't have a lot of money to spend on one.
Thank you |

| Appalachian Roots Revival Festival - Help Promote it Online! |
[Apr. 1st, 2007|12:45 am]
Contemporary Bluegrass Music
|
Hi Folks!
I'm Scott Santos and I am working with the Appalachian Roots Revival Festival in Boone, North Carolina to help market the festival online.
The festival is looking for some fans of bluegrass, folk, and country music to help promote online ticket sales for the festival. FREE pairs of tickets to the Appalachian Roots Revival Festival and festival DVDs are available to earn by helping out.
This year's festival features The Avett Brothers, The Everybodyfields, Larry and Jenny Keel, Steve McMurry from Acoustic Syndicate, Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon, Wrinkle Neck Mules, Black Cash, Possum Jenkins, the Lost Ridge Band, and Wiseapple.
Volunteers would be responsible for tagging message boards and social networking outlets focused on bluegrass, folk, and country music with promotional messages that hype up the festival and persuade fans to purchase online tickets.
This is a great way to have some fun promoting online for the music that you love while earning some great rewards!
Please email a letter of interest to Scott at scott.santos@musictoday.com if you would like to help out! |
