Laddered Life

~~~
Many see life as a road
Wide enough to share
Symbolic of our journey
Metaphorically the fare
~~~

Through peak and sunset valley

As our days wane into night

Thinking where we find ourselves

Came from choosing left or right

~~~
But life is not so easy this
A linear chart of time
A life lived to its fullest intent
Has always been a climb
~~~

A ladder of singular steps

An equal distance each one

The only question up or down

As you step to the next rung

~~~
That is the choice we must make
One of two directions, you see
Up the next rung whatever it takes
Or climb down and never be free
~~~

  2. Always up to the next step, for sure Brad, otherwise we may never know…a very good poem that makes one think and makes one react and grow. Cheers.

    Nobody’s life is one meteoric rise. It’s how we handle those down spots that help determine the outcome.

    There is a lot of truth in what you say Brad but we have to keep climbing even if there are hard times. Sometimes we may slip due to fear but we must keep rolling as you say. Great piece, sending you lots of love, hugs, peace and a hot air balloon full of dreams full of wonderful loving people and creatures and lots of pleasant excitement my friend. Jonikins xoxoxoxo
