Honest to God, where do they find these old pole dancers?  The garbage bin?  This one shoulda been put out to pasture years ago.  She’s all saggy skin and bones, for chrissakes.  Must be desperate to still be dancing at this age.  She is too old for this shit!

***

How the hell am I still doing this at this age?  Fucksakes, I wanted to retire years ago.  I could have if it hadn’t been for that asshole taking me for everything I had.  I see their looks – tips are gonna be awful.  I am way too old for this shit.

  1. Hi Dale,

Jilly here – I am reading and loving your Friday Fictioneers posts but the system won’t like me like or post. Such a shame. Anyway, keep up the brilliance, you’ve got it! But if there is anything can be done I will be a lot happier when I’m allowed to call and ring the bell and come inside again.

    Love from Hampshire, England,

    Jilly xx

  2. Hi there Jilly!

I am so glad you did manage to leave this great comment. Dang WP for giving you a hard time. Thank you from Boucherville, Canada! 😉😘

  3. Amazing your story emerged from the skin and bones. I must live a sheltered life , as I have never seen Pole Dancers in the flesh so to speak. Your character has had a real rough time. Good story, with a subtext of disapproval of the profession.

    • The mind is an interesting thing. I’ve not seen any in the flesh, either; but have in movies so…
Thank you, James. I don’t know if it’s disapproval of the profession – more of a sad choice in her case. In his, obviously he cannot afford the more upper class ones!

    • Now THAT is the reaction I was looking for! I knew I could count on you, Ginger.

Honestly, once my mind saw that image, I just could not let it go! I figured why the hell not?

She is one tough one, that is for sure.

      YAY!!

  5. Laughing soooooo much! Can you hear me, Dale? Good thing I’d mostly swallowed my huge mouthful of iced tea just now…I mean…you’re a little far away to be called in for clean-up duty. But then again, you ARE the guilty party. LOL…to the extreme! 🤣🤣🤣

  6. Love how your story went from skin and bones to fabulous! Well done.

Yes, WP is gremlin-y lately. I’ve had to go to my admin deck to ‘like’ comments because I can’t when clicking on the the comment link. And the replies to comments aren’t in order any longer. You have to scroll through the entire lot to find it. Grrr. I think the Happiness Engineers have too much idle time on their hand. What ion the heck do they continue to ‘fix things that aren’t broken?’ 😬 I gave them a piece of my mind, not that that will have any effect but it allowed me to blow off some steam. Bastards.

    • Thank you, Monika. Sometimes I surprise even myself 😉

They’ve been hard at work. One of my followers simply responded to the email she gets (I guess she is like me and isn’t into the Reader) and was shocked that I did receive her comment right in the comment section. I swear there are so many damn issues. Go get ’em, Tiger!

  7. As depressing a scenario as this is, it still made me laugh Dale, just because everyone involved seems to be dreading the upcoming experience.

And don’t blame me for it being Wednesday: it was Rochelle that chose the picture. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

    • I am glad you did, David. It was meant to make you laugh (and not think of the depressing side of it).

Of course not – just don’t blame me for seeing a pole dancer in your photo! Have a marvellous weekend, you too!

  8. And now I want a master league of old pole dancers. So typical of the crowd to focus on a woman’s wrinkles instead of on her acrobatics. And the poor woman knows exactly what they think. Great writing, Dale.

  9. Dear Dale,
Gotta feel for the poor old gal. I admit, I laughed. Life is difficult for the visually inspired. 😉 Two people with the same thought from a different perspective. Well done, my friend.
Shalom and lotsa still relevant hugs,
    Rochelle

    • Dear Rochelle,

Seriously. And I wanted you to laugh. Yes, the undertones are sad but hey… And truly. Can you see why I went there? LOL… Thank you, kindly!

      Shalom and lotsa still-got-it-in-her love,

      Dale

    The Peal of Thunder! 🤔joke😅

Yeah – those pole dancers do look fried.. and battered. That happens when you get too old to pole dance.. or log roll. Log rolling sounds cool. Maybe the clubs could get in some Log Roll Dancers?

    Bahahahahahahaha!

I’ve heard of burnout but this is (hilariously) ridiculous! And yes, I would agree that you played this one waaaaaaay outside the box, you cheeky monkey. I think it could be said you also played this one outside the . . . wait for it . . . bucket!
