Inspiring developers to build great software.

About us

At Devpost our mission is to inspire the world's developers to build great software. We do that by powering nearly all in-person and virtual software competitions around the globe. We have a large, global network of software developers who discover and participate in hackathons on our platform in order to learn, build something great, and earn exposure. Organizations run online and in-person competitions to market their tools to our active developer community. Our customers include Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and many others. Our culture is centered around a close relationship with our community, and a dedication to continuously improve our offering and ourselves to meet their needs. Employees are empowered to explore and take ownership, and to make decisions in line with our metrics and mission. Our mission is firmly rooted in the belief that technology can bring about important change and improve lives.

I'm so excited to be joining the judging panel for the Nebius x NVIDIA Global AI Hackathon with Devpost! 🚀 💚 18,000+ signups and counting!! The grand prize is $20,000 and we've got $50,000+ in prizes 🎉 What fun rabbit holes did you discover while working on your project and what have you learned? One of my favourite parts of seeing a demo is getting a glimpse of how someone else builds. Submissions close October 30th so there's still time to join! Sign up 👇

  • Join us tomorrow at 10AM ET for a live build session with Missy Davies and Dennis Meister from GitLab! They'll walk through a project that uses GitLab Duo Agent Platform to automate what happens after code is written, then take your questions live. It'll be beginner friendly, and a good fit if you've registered for Life After Code but haven't picked what to build yet or figured out how to get started. See you there! https://lnkd.in/ghu6GfcC

  • What ROI can you expect from a hackathon? The answer looks different depending on the type you run. → Public hackathons: dev community growth, projects built with your tools, and product feedback → Internal hackathons: prototypes that ship, new skills, and leadership buy-in → Customer hackathons: use cases that get funded and stronger customer retention We’re showing organizers how to measure ROI for each hackathon type, using benchmarks from real Devpost hackathons. I wanted to build my own Jarvis. I ended up presenting a talking drone in Las Vegas. A few months later, Devpost interviewed me about the experience: what worked, what broke, and why I started. The project is Drone Copilot, a drone you can talk to. It won Best of Live Agents at Google’s Gemini Live Agent Challenge and took me to Google Cloud Next. The idea came from Iron Man: talking to a machine like Tony Stark talks to Jarvis. No remote, just your voice and Gemini. It was my first hardware project. Wind, low light and depth perception made it harder than I expected. Each one taught me something. I really enjoyed the interview because it captures what building this project actually felt like. Thank you Darlyze and Devpost for sharing the story. I’m grateful for the opportunities your hackathons create. I didn’t know whether the idea would work. I’m glad I tried. I talked to Bryen P. about his project, Drone Copilot, that won Best of Live Agents at Google’s Gemini Live Agent Challenge on Devpost! Check out how Iron Man and Gemini inspired him to go from never having built a hardware project before to getting invited to Google Cloud Next 👀 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/geAmuhxg

  • GitLab's new hackathon, Life After Code, went live from the Transcend Bangalore keynote stage, and it covers every stage of the DevSecOps lifecycle: planning and building, review, security scanning, testing, compliance, deployment, and monitoring. Two paths to build on: - Start Fresh: build a new AI-powered project on GitLab and automate as much of the post-code lifecycle as you can. - Bring Your Own: already running a project somewhere else? Import it to GitLab and build the automation around it. It's the fastest way to see what an existing codebase actually gains from GitLab's full DevSecOps lifecycle platform. Within either Path, you choose how much control your agents get: approve every step, approve just the outcome, or step away entirely and let the loop run from issue to production. $45,000 in prizes across both Paths, plus special awards for covering the most lifecycle stages, the most environmentally impactful project, and the most creative submission. Submissions close October 27. What will you build with the speed of imagination? Register today to find out: bit.ly/gitlablac26li

Building for the Amazon Developer Hackathon? Join us for office hours tomorrow. 🛠️ Kourtney M. and I are hosting live office hours for the Build, Ship, Shape: Amazon Developer Hackathon on Tuesday, October 6, at 10:30 AM PT. We're around the halfway mark of the submission window and have looked at a lot of early projects. We'll start with a few quick best practices and feedback: ✅ What makes a project stand out (and what won't get past the first round) ✅ How to make your submission easy for judges to evaluate ✅ Where the opportunity is across the Fire TV, Alexa+, Ring and Bee tracks Then we'll open it up to your questions. Bring em! 📅 Tue, Oct 6 · 10:30–11:30 AM PT 🔗 Register: https://lnkd.in/gCf9cTex Submissions close Friday, October 23... there's loads of great submissions already, but there's still plenty of time to build something extraordinary! #Amazon #Hackathon #AlexaPlus #FireTV #Ring #Bee #BuildShipShape Devpost

My portfolio company, Qloo is launching a global hackathon on Devpost to see who can build the best AI agents with taste. They’re putting up $25,000 in cash prizes, and I’m going to personally invest another $25,000 into my favorite one. Agents are getting really good at taking actions and following a specific set of instructions. The next question is: how do we give them good taste? What should I buy, where should I eat, what should I watch? Qloo has spent years building a massive global model of taste, culture, and human preference. If we want agents to make actual decisions rather than just follow instructions, this is the kind of judgment they'll need. Submissions are open through October 30th. I think real companies are going to come out of this. Join the hackathon at https://qloo.devpost.com/
