Sent a little hello to the Devfolio community today :) We started Devfolio in 2018 and grew it from 0 to 1M+ builders, almost entirely organically. Over the years, it has helped so many people discover hackathons, build things, find opportunities and even start their careers. We never charged builders for it. Now the same three of us are building Fold, and it felt nice to go back to the community we grew up building with and share what we're working on next. We never stop building 🛠️

What if a male fruit fly could solve murder mysteries? I built Flylock Holmes at Fruit Fly-athon by Devfolio It uses 166,700 MaleCNS neurons to visualize thought, and TypeSafe AI Jev as a conviction model to investigate and accuse The wiring is measured. The mysteries are fictional. The deduction is live . Also i have added BYOC : Bring your own case where anyone can bring their own fictional mysteries and see the fly perform deductions in real time

we’re doing a random buildathon this sunday with Devfolio Fruit Fly-athon 🪰 Google Research recently released a map of an adult male fruit fly’s brain and central nervous system, basically a detailed map of how its neurons are wired together. people have already started building some fun things with it. so we thought, why not get a bunch of builders in a room and see what they come up with? the idea is to spend the day building experiments, tools, games, visualisations, or whatever else you can make with the fruit-fly connectome. this sunday at 2586Labs if you want to spend your sunday doing something slightly weird, come through. limited spots. applications below.

yesterday, i attended What the Hack by Devfolio. the goal of this hackathon was to build something with zero utility instead of solving a "real" problem. i messed around and accidentally built something "useful". Heavily inspired by my favourite editing tool, Hemingway Editor, i vibe coded Lemmingway - an editor that "helps" you degrade your writing, and can even make it look like you let your cat loose on your keyboard. and it's available as an API, too. try it out here: https://lnkd.in/gcSazQcX what i loved about the event was that the organisers truly committed to the no-utility bit. midway through the hackathon, we were handed a stack overflow QnA bank for all the tough questions that LLMs couldn't answer. like how to center a div. Team Devfolio, thank you for the💡/10 experience. more hackathons should let you build something pointless on purpose. it's a good reminder that not everything needs a roadmap or a business case. Can't wait for the next one. #hackathon #events Aniket Raj | Pratham Vaidya | Nirupama Singh | Ayussh Khurana

I spent a whole hackathon building the WORST login page on the internet. On purpose. (weekend cranky stuff) It's called "404: The Login You Deserve." - The page opens as a 404 error. The "404" IS the login button. Good luck finding that out. - To sign up you must pass a "Life Score" quiz and watch a full YouTube video you cannot skip. - The password? It flashes for 2 seconds inside the video. Blink and it's gone. - Get it wrong? That's 1 punishment video. Wrong twice? 2 videos. And so on. Why? Because people forget passwords when logging in is too easy. So we made it unforgettable. You're welcome. Every annoying part is stolen from a product you already use — it's basically a museum of bad UX. Try to log in (you won't enjoy it): https://lnkd.in/gJQHUhBt Huge thanks to WhatTheHack and the entire organizing team Devfolio for the chaos. #hackathon #webdev #nextjs #buildinpublic
