It was warming to see #Waterloo gather in such large numbers this morning at the #RemembranceDay2023 service as I laid a wreath on behalf of Canada. This support reaffirms, “at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.” Lest we forget. #CanadaRemembers

Jomi told me that in Grade 10 she wrote a poem, “Just A Young Black Girl”. Fast forward 2 years, now recent high school graduate, Jomi Oyediran, published her poetry book, “Blooming – My Way to Becoming”. Miss Jomi, congrats on your Book Launch & your scholarship from @HowardU.

Saddened to hear of the attack that took place yesterday @UWaterloo, but not surprised. Hate exists in our communities and it must be condemned in all forms. Violence should have no place in 🇨🇦. We all have a role to play. Our hearts go out to those injured and all impacted.
