As a columnist for the Midwest Book Review, I get to read some of the best in the world and in your genre, your work really stands out.
Before closing this note, though, I want to recommend a book that crossed my desk the other day called The Great American Cat Novel by dhtreichler.
Briefly, it features a really BIG cat named Amethyst Leopard, whose job it becomes to save a shaky worldwide agreement hammered out between cats and dogs to at last have peace.
It’s a great concept with some left field humor– for example, Ms Leopard is a hard boiled detective who flies worldwide in search of those trying to derail the historic accord. But, sentient though she is, she is still locked away in a crate in the hold for a long trip to Singapore. She is not a happy kitty.
It is an innovative twist on George Orwell’s classic Animal Farm, but full of vivid characters — both cats and dogs — that are really more about a good mystery than highbrow allegory — although there’s plenty of that as well.
