Iris – ‘Millennium Falcon’

Before last nights vigorous wind and rain storm, our new Iris were starting to bloom nicely. Now they’re all blown over but photos were taken. Here is a favorite of mine, both for the flower and it’s name.

  1. Lovely! We had frost warnings last night. Our weather has been yo-yoing around, one day 80s the next day 30s. Right now I’m reading a Big Fat Book.

Irises have a special meaning for me. Following my mother’s memorial service, we uprooted some of the irises from her garden to transplant in our yard. Every year since they have bloomed on Mother’s Day. A coincidence, perhaps?

Nice. Great color, awesome name. It’s not quite as cold here as the weather George is getting upstate but not too far north of us – say 100 miles – they are also having a freeze warning.

George, it’s time for Spring, but at least if it stays cooler your allergies won’t flair.

Jerry, well Iris do bloom at that time, the early ones, but I prefer to think yours has a special reason for blooming on Mother’s Day.

Jeff, I insisted on buying these (we got just two of them) because of the name / color combo.

Note: New arrivals post goes up tomorrow am my time zone.
