Sunday funnies

June 28, 2026

Pastor Bob, out for a stroll, chanced upon a group of young boys all gathered around a dog.

“What are you boys doing with that dog?” he asked.

“He’s a stray,” said the biggest boy. “We all want him, but only one of us can take him home, so we decided whoever can tell the biggest lie gets to keep the dog.”

Pastor Bob was shocked. “Don’t you boys know it’s a sin to lie?” he said. “When I was your age, I never told lies!”

The boys all looked at each other in silence for a moment. Then the smallest boy sighed and said, “All right, give him the dog.”

Schrödinger’s neighbor says thought experiment interesting but he’d just like a straight answer on where his cat is

June 27, 2026

From The Babylon Bee.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA — Neighbors of physicist Erwin Schrödinger agreed that his thought experiment about the indeterminate nature of their cat being alive was super interesting and all, but asked if he could please tell them where their cat is.

“I think Erwin is great, he’s so smart and always telling us about the amazing experiments he’s working on, but he asked to borrow our cat a while back and I’m a bit concerned what happened next,” said neighbor Fritz Weinberger. “We’d really like to know where Herr Shnitzel-Muncher ended up.”

Schrödinger reportedly asked to borrow the large tabby cat to conduct a few experiments in his garage, where he was also seen lugging in bottles of poison and radioactive material. “After locking the cat in the box ten days ago, I can no longer know if the cat is even alive or dead,” explained Schrödinger. “What is fascinating is that if I were to look in the box, my looking could actually change what happens to the cat! Until I look, the cat could be here, there, alive, dead — who knows? Goodness, what’s that smell coming from the garage?”

As of publishing time, the Weinberger family was also trying to get Immanuel Kant to return their lawn mower after the transcendentalist refused to acknowledge its material existence in his tool shed.

A raven has seventeen pinion feathers (the large feathers at the end of the wing). A crow has sixteen pinion feathers. Therefore, the difference between a crow and a raven is only a matter of a pinion.

Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus, Leif Erikson, and Francisco Pizarro all got together for their weekly poker game, but none of them could beat the Straights of Magellan.

Everyone knows about William Tell’s accomplishments as an archer. However, historians have recently learned that in addition to archery, Tell also excelled at bowling, a sport he participated in regularly with his wife and children. Sadly, all the league records have been lost, so we’ll never know for whom the Tells bowled.
