It seems that there is some truth to the rumors: Carrie has been writing. Here is a link to some interviews she's done with a few different people, from a magazine called The Believer. The most recent one is from this month's issue...which I guess means that she is not, as I had assumed, sitting in her basement, in her pajamas, eating cereal, and singing unspirited renditions of "Holiday". (Which is what I would be doing if I were her.)

Me and </a></b></a> threebeats thought it would be kind of cool to do this. I will be creating a paper version of Carrie. Hence, Flat Carrie. She will be set up with a scrapbook. If you get her, you will get her for approximentally two weeks, during which time, you can take pictures of her in weird places around your hometown. In the scrapbook, you can enclose said photos. The other thing we thought of is if people wrote a little thing about how S-K[or anything else Carrie has been involved with] has affected their lives. because, after a while, we will send said scrapbook to Subpop, who will [hopefully] forward it to Carrie Brownstein herself. After the two weeks is up, you mail it to the next person on the list, until we've gone through everyone. Everyone who wants to,anyway.
If you are interested, email me with your address. [I know that I personally don't like putting my own address on the internet, so I wasn't about to ask anyone else to do it either.] I just think that this would be a pretty cool little thing to do. :)

i live in portland, or and was selling some books today at powell's on hawthorne. i saw a woman that looked a lot like carrie, but she was short and really tiny so i thought it wasn't her. i was looking at books near the registers when i heard her say to the cashier, "yeah, the show was great. a really good send-off." at that point i had to say something so i went up to her and introduced myself. i told her how much i loved their last show and what a huge fan i was. she smiled sweetly and said thanks. i wanted to talk to her longer but she looked like she was in a bit of a hurry. she paid for her things and said a polite goodbye to me and the cashier. she was very approachable and sweet. eep! now my crush on her is 348324 times bigger.

Hey guys! I have yet another S-K related project in order to help us work through our pain. Here's the basic idea: It's like a totally brilliant plan!
Like it says in the original post, the point of this zine about the final shows is to capture the S-K concert experience from ticket purchase to morning after hangover, and especially the capture the experience of the S-K fan community. This is why I would love it if you guys would photograph yourselves getting ready for the big shows, on your way to the shows, at the shows, on the way back home, etc. And don't forget to include a few paragraphs about the experience. Then either post about it at the sktothemax community, or send it to me somehow (soundoftheatlantic at gmail dot com; myspace dot com slash la_hija_justiciera).

hello everyone. i just joined this community, and i thought id drop an entry to say hi. i probably shouldve joined a long time ago, but my favorite band ever has always been the smashing pumpkins - so, i spent a lot of time in those various communities. however, s-k has definitely started growing on me more and more.. and theyre slowly pushing the pumpkins from the top spot, so here i am.

just randomly found this place
i thought i would share my "meeting carrie" story
a few years ago - i was with my ex g/f and i spotted her shopping in downtown atlanta (i recognized her profile through the crowd) we stalked her down. she seemed rather uptight but thats understandable i guess, rabid fans & all-and her pores seriously needed help but overall we had a nice visit with her. she seemed somewhat amused that my name is "megan" and my (then)girlfriend's name is meghan. the megans. she hung out and talked to us for a while. we even went for smoothies,actually she was wering red lippy and a cute little brown jacket
i really think her face is one of the cutest ever. meghan was such a spaz that day.
we took pictures with her but they are with my ex g/f.
i'd let her be my joey ramone.

one of my friends on myspace commented on a picture of mine, initially thinking that i had a picture of carrie brownstein up, and was going to ask where i found the picture. and then she saw my caption and realized it was me. all hands era-ish. i was just asking for an opinion? i think it's incredible that someone would ever get that kind of impression of me, enough to think something as outlandish as that.
